Donald Kinsey (born May 12, 1953, Gary, Indiana, United States) is an American guitarist and singer, best known as a member of The Wailers Band, the reggae backing group for Bob Marley & The Wailers.
Kinsey is one of three sons of the late Chicago blues performer, Big Daddy Kinsey. He is a member of The Kinsey Report, which he formed in 1984 with his brothers Ralph Kinsey and Kenneth Kinsey, plus Ron Prince. Previously he had toured and recorded with Albert King, Peter Tosh, Bob Marley & The Wailers and Roy Buchanan.
Kinsey may refer to:
Peter Tosh, OM (born Winston Hubert McIntosh; 19 October 1944 – 11 September 1987) was a Jamaican reggae musician. Along with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer he was one of the core members of the band The Wailers (1963–1974), after which he established himself as a successful solo artist and a promoter of Rastafari. He was murdered in 1987 during a home invasion.
Tosh was born in Westmoreland Jamaica, the nation's westernmost parish. When McIntosh was fifteen, his aunt died and he moved to Trench Town in Kingston, Jamaica. He first picked up a guitar by watching a man in the country play a song that captivated him. He watched the man play the same song for half a day, memorizing everything his fingers were doing. He then picked up the guitar and played the song back to the man. The man then asked McIntosh who had taught him to play; McIntosh told him that he had. During the early 1960s Tosh met Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) and Neville O'Reilly Livingston (Bunny Wailer) and went to vocal teacher Joe Higgs, who gave out free vocal lessons to young people, in hopes to form a new band. He then changed his name to become Peter Tosh and the trio started singing together in 1962. Higgs taught the trio to harmonize and while developing their music, they would often play on the street corners of Trenchtown.
The masculine given name Donald is a version of the Scottish Gaelic name Domhnall (and variants Dómhnall, Dòmhnall,Domhnull, and Dòmhnull), historically the standard Anglicization of the name in Scotland. The name is ultimately derived from the Proto-Celtic world elements dubno ("world") and val ("rule"). The final -d on Donald is partly derived from a misinterpretation of the Gaelic pronunciation by English-speakers, and partly associated with the spelling of similar sounding Germanic-language names, such as Ronald. A short form of Donald is Don. Pet forms of Donald include Donnie, Donny, and Dolly. The feminine given name Donella is derived from Donald.Donald has numerous other Celtic-language cognates: Irish Dónal (Anglicised as Donal and Donall),Old Irish Domnall, Welsh Dyfnwal, Old Welsh Dumngual, Cumbric Dumngual, and Common Celtic *Dumno-ualos ("world-wielder"). Although the feminine given name Donna is sometimes used as a feminine form of Donald, the names are not etymologically related.

On December 3rd, 1976, Bob Marley was shot by unknown gunmen inside his home at 56 hope road; Bob of course survived that assault and lived another 5 years before passing from unrelated causes in 1981 but no such luck for fellow wailer, Peter Tosh. On September 11, 1987, on that day 3 gunmen pumped a hail of bullets in Tosh and 6 others at his home in Kingston, Tosh and two of his colleagues succumbed to their bullet wounds. One of the 5 survivors is Carlton Santa Davis who is on our stage right now along with Donald Kinsey, guitarist for both Bob and Peter and who was present at Bob's shooting in '76'.
Denroy Morgan, the patriarch of the Morgan Heritage fame, is rebooting his music career with the release of Peter Tosh and Bob "Get up stand up". This after the "I'll do anything for you" singer dedicated almost twenty years to the musical careers of his children. Apart from music Denroy Morgan, a father of 30, is at times a bishop, a barber, a cook, and advocate for the legalization of marijuana and in 2011 Denroy beat incredible odds in New York city by getting off a charge of possession of over twenty pounds of marijuana with only a court fee charge of us$25 and 90-days probation. In his defense, Morgan argued that the weed is a sacramental requirement for his Rastafarian faith. Shortly after the case was closed, legislation changed in New York that prevents persons from being arre...
Ishawna came to the fore in a cloud of controversy in 2014 and ever since has been shrouded in rows; just this year alone the restraining order singer has been embroiled in all of 3 major controversies; the "Equal Rights" saga, the 'Miss Lou/Bandana' issue and one of the biggest ever female on female lyrical confrontations in Dancehall's history with Danielle DI but what is most striking about Ishawna's controversies is that they are arguably the key driving force behind her ascension from virtually unknown just over 3 years ago to now. One of the biggest female brands in Dancehall's history, Ishawna is our very special guest right here OnStage.
