The Birmingham Mail is a tabloid newspaper based in Birmingham, UK but distributed around Birmingham, The Black Country, Solihull, Warwickshire and parts of Worcestershire and Staffordshire. The newspaper, which was re-branded from the Birmingham Evening Mail in October 2005, is one of the biggest selling local newspapers in the UK, and the largest in Birmingham. The newspaper is currently owned by the Trinity Mirror Group who also owns the Daily Mirror and the Birmingham Post, the weekly business tabloid sold in the Birmingham area. The current Birmingham Mail editor is David Brookes, who is also Editor-in-Chief of the Birmingham Post and Sunday Mercury. The former Editor of the newspaper was Steve Dyson, who held the role from 2005 until 2010.

The paper hits the streets at 06:00 and is on sale until the end of the day. The advertising deadlines are up until 17:00 to get into the next day's edition.

Sir Peter Hugh Morrison PC (2 June 1944 – 13 July 1995) was a British Conservative politician, MP for Chester from 1974 to 1992, and Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.

Morrison was the third son of John Morrison, 1st Baron Margadale, by the Honourable Margaret Smith, daughter of William Smith, 2nd Viscount Hambleden and Lady Esther Gore. Sir Charles Morrison, Conservative MP for Devizes from 1964 to 1992, was his elder brother. He was educated at Eton and Keble College, Oxford, where he studied Law.

Morrison was first elected to the House of Commons in the general election of February 1974 for Chester. He had been one of the first back-bench MPs to urge Margaret Thatcher to stand for the Party leadership in 1975. He was Deputy Conservative Party Chairman under Norman Tebbit, having been previously a Parliamentary Undersecretary of State and Minister of State in the Department of Employment. In 1987 he was Minister of State for Energy.

Richard Paul "Rick" Astley ( /ˈrɪk ˈæstli/; born 6 February 1966) is an English singer-songwriter, musician, and radio personality. He is known for his 1987 song, "Never Gonna Give You Up", which was a #1 hit single in 25 countries. Astley holds the record for being the only male solo artist to have his first 8 singles reach the Top 10 in the UK and by retirement in 1993 had sold approximately 40 million records worldwide.

After retiring from the music industry in 1993, Astley made a comeback in 2007 when he became an Internet phenomenon, as his video for "Never Gonna Give You Up" became part of a popular Internet meme known as "Rickrolling". Astley was voted "Best Act Ever" by Internet users at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008.

Richard Paul Astley was born on 6 February 1966 in Newton-le-Willows, Lancashire, England, becoming the fourth child of his family. His parents divorced when he was five, and Astley was brought up by his father. His musical career started when he was ten, singing in the local church choir. During his schooldays, Astley formed and played the drums in a number of local bands, where he met guitarist David Morris. After leaving school at sixteen, Astley was employed during the day as a driver in his father's market-gardening business and played drums on the Northern club circuit at night in bands such as “Give Way” - specialising in covering Beatles and Shadows songs - and “FBI”, which won several local talent competitions.
