METEOR SHOWER Norman B "Deviations from the Norm"
DEFINITION:
Down: Very soft tiny feathers on a duck's back; used to fill pillows, etc
.. Some people ride elephants.
This is to answer the age-old riddle:
Q: How do you get down from an elephant?
A: You don't get down from an elephant, you get down from a
Comet!
METEOR SHOWER by
Norman B/Deviations from the
Norm
A field.
Through a field.
Passing through a field.
The Earth is passing through a field
Of space debris, perhaps the remnant
Of some extinct comet, perhaps not.
If I knew the date today,
Or had a
Farmer's Almanac,
I'd take aim upon the name,
But, as it is, I'm inexact:
Orionid? Lyrid? Perseid?
Streak across the sky!
Shooting star!
Falling star!
Meteor, right?
It's a meteor shower! It's been goin' on an hour,
Meteor shower! One per minute for an hour!
Comet down!
Gobs of grey garbage in the goulash,
Methinks this mess should be meatier!
Birdseed bullshit in the Bulaich!
I've seldom seen a stash seedier!
Knee-deep in debt, dat's your lot!
Knee-deep and getting needier!
Steak's too high! too hard! too hot!
Bad guys getting greedier!
Do this, do this, THAT, do NOT!
My lucid moments getting fleetier!
Lovely lady lofts along c-lad in culottes,
Please come sit by me, dear!
It's a media shower! It's been goin' on an hour!
Media shower! One per minute for an hour!
Calm it down!
footnotes
*lines -2, -1 & 4-6: Some meteor showers are debris from the trails of comets.
*line 13: A meteorite has landed on
Earth. Meteroids are in space.
*lines 19-20
Boo is pot.
Norm Bulaich was a football hero, one of the few great Norms I knew of as a child. Birdseed is often pot seed, but pot with too many seeds isn't good. If b.s. is in the pot, it is in me, for I am the pot: You are what you eat.
