LOLA NEEDS A FOSTER HOME

Lola – Small Staffordshire Bull terrier – 10 years old. LONG TERM FOSTER APPEAL FOR LOLA. Lola is in her twilight years and we noticed she looked poorly a few days ago (25/02/16) She has now been diagnosed with Glaucoma. Lola needs eye drops in the morning and afternoon and the pressure behind her eye needs to come down. She’s now had two vets visits 03/03/16 and the pressure has come down a bit which is good but maybe not good enough. We are beginning to notice that she’s not seeing so well. If we don’t see more improvement she will lose her eye. So Lola really does need some good quality foster care which might be quite challenging and not for the light hearted. If you have got a quiet home with no other dogs or cats and are interested in helping Lola please give us a call. KENNEL UPDATE 08/01/16 – Lola is a favourite with the kennel staff and they tell us how excited she gets when her bed is made up for her. One of the kennel helpers tells us about the little games they play. Lola even takes treats from her mouth. Lola likes to run through her legs and then she jumps around and she runs through again. Lola has a goodnight tummy tickle with all four legs in the air doing an imaginary run. ORIGINAL WRITE UP – Lovely Lola sadly has been with us for 6 years now. She came from a house where she was being used for breeding and she was no longer able to produce puppies so she was surplus to requirements. Often when bitches can’t produce puppies which are revenue for the breeders they no longer needed and so passed onto rescue centres like ours to find a home. This is despite her amiable nature. When we take Lola into the exercise area she loves to run around and round. She’s quite an independent lady and enjoys doing her own thing. Just running and sniffing. She would be no trouble and probably a little garden to run around would be all she needs. She soon runs out of steam and settles loyally at your feet ready for a tummy tickle. When she has her tummy tickled she snorts like a little happy pig. Lola isn’t too bad on the lead and settles quite quickly and doesn’t pull too much. Lola loves everyone she meets and always runs to greet you for a cuddle. Lola is a mature lady now and she would be available for long term foster to live out her twilight years and we would cover the vet’s fees and you would have our full support and we could board Lola if you were to take a holiday. You would need to live closer than our usual 50 mile radius as you would need easy access to our vets in Stamford and Deeping where we have all our animals treated.
