At 6:59:57 pm, the satellite blasted off on a Long March 3C carrier rocket from No. 2 launch tower at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in southwest China's Sichuan Province. "Chang'e-2 lays foundation for the soft-landing on the moon and further exploration of outer space," said Wu Weiren, chief designer of China's lunar orbiter project. Chang'e-2 entered the orbit with a perigee of 200 kilometers and apogee of 380000 kilometers as scheduled. There it separated from the carrier rocket. It was the first time that a Chinese lunar probe directly entered the earth-moon transfer orbit without orbiting the earth first. "It is a major breakthrough of the rocket design, as it saves energy used by the satellite and speeds up the journey to the lunar orbit," said Pang Zhihao, a researcher with the China Academy of Space Technology..... The day marks the same day - the full moon night of the sixth lunar month - when Lord Buddha was born into this world, attained enlightenment 35 years later, and passed away when he was 80. Visakhapuja Day is recognized by the UNESCO on December 13, 1999 as "World Heritage Day". VISAKHA BUCHA (Vesak) means the worship of the Buddha on the full moon day of the sixth lunar month. It usually falls in May. In the case of a year with an extra eighth lunar month--Adhikamasa (there are 13 full moons in that year)-- the Visakhapuja Day falls on the full moon day of the seventh lunar month.

It was created at the time of translating Dharma text "Gypsy Gossip" by Khyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche and publishing the text at Vajra-Garuda e-Publications on CD-ROM (ISBN 961-91189-1-X). This Visual Dharma is inspired by excellent Teaching which Rinpoche offers in his explanation of the mantra of Guru Padmasambhava (outer, inner and secret meaning) as well as ennumeration of Eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche. Life and liberation (Tib. Padma Ka`i Tang) of Buddha Padmasambhava was written down by Lady Master Yeshe Tshogyal (8th Century AD) . It was later discovered as hidden treasure (Tib. terma) by Tertön Orgyen Lingpa (14th Century). In 1912 it was translated into French (published in 1933). In 1978 it was published in English language. This chronology shows that Buddhism and its sacred texts are present in Europe from the beginning of 20th Century and that Buddhism is one of the religions traditinaly present in Europe ! One of the stops on NASA's way to the moon is the Arizona desert. The 2009 Desert RATS - or Research and Technology Studies - field test simulated a 14-day lunar mission. Two crew members - an astronaut and a geologist - lived for 14 days inside NASA's prototype Lunar Electric Rover, scouting the area for features of geological interest and conducting moonwalks as necessary to collect samples. Other prototype vehicles tested include Ames's K-10 robotic scout and JPL's Tri-Athlete cargo handling and manipulation system. For more information www.nasa.gov

Happy Valentines Day and Lunar New Year everyone even though its a day early, I won't be on tomorrow my parents are making me go with them to temples. :c Yep that's my new character and my alter ego(: I had to render this mmv at least 5 times because Sony Vegas hates me and youtube wouldn't let me upload it on my computer so I had to use my sister's computer . Lunar New Year festivities in Johor Baru culminate with a colourful "chingay" street parade on the evening of the 21st day of the first Lunar month when the deities go on a tour to bless the city with peace, prosperity and harmony. Roads will be closed for the street parade. This pulsating parade is an annual tradition that has been kept alive since the 1800s without any interruption except once, during the Japanese Occupation in the early 1940s. Temple deities will be accompanied by close to 300 people including Chinese Association members and devotees, lion dancers, dragon dancers, stilt-walkers, puppeteers, cultural dancers and brass bands. On the morning of the 22nd day, the deities will return to the temple.
