The Bhoodan Movement (Hindi: भूदान, Urdu: بھودان) or Land Gift Movement was a voluntary land reform movement in India started by Acharya Vinoba Bhave in 1951 started at Pochampally village now known as Bhoodhan Pochampally.

The mission of the movement was to persuade wealthy landowners to voluntarily give a percentage of their land to lower castes. Vinoba Bhave walked across India on foot, to persuade landowners to give up a piece of their land. He was followed by crowds nearly everywhere he went. Philosophically, Vinoba Bhave was directly influenced by the Sarvodaya movement of Gandhi of whose he was the spiritual heir The movement was started in 1951 when Telangana peasant movement on the land issue reached the peak. It was a violent struggle launched by poor peasants against the local landlords. Bhave said that rural rich must participate in voluntary distribution of land.

Vedre Ramachandra Reddy got his title " Bhoodhan " as he was the firstdonor and initateor of the great land donation movement in early 1950s(18 April 1951) in Andhra Pradesh at a village called Pochampally in the Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh. He was a great social worker and noble man. Acharya Vinoba Bhave started the land donation movement in Pochampally village in April 1951 with initiation of donation of 100 acres, (later on he has donated another 800 acres, ) of land from Vedre Ramachandra Reddy, which led to a total of 1 million acres (4,000 km²) of land donation and distribution among the poor in post independence Era in India.

Konda Laxman Bapuji (born 27 September 1915) is an Indian freedom fighter who participated in the Telangana Rebellion.

Bapuji was born in Wankidi village, Adilabad district, Hyderabad State in Padmashali community.

He participated in the Quit India movement, 1952 Non mulki agitation and 1969 Telangana Agitation. He was a minister and resigned in 1969 for Telangana cause.

He was a member of Telangana Sadhana Samithi. He also started Nava Telangana Praja Party. He announced, "We solemnly declare statehood for Telangana on November 2, 2008."

He was instrumental in forming Akhila Bharat padmashali sanga at Hyderabad.

Vinoba Bhave (Marathi: विनोबा भावे),Vinayak Narahari Bhave (September 11, 1895 - November 15, 1982) often called Acharya (Sanskrit for teacher), was an Indian advocate of nonviolence and human rights. He is best known for the Bhoodan Andolan. He is considered as a National Teacher of India and the spiritual successor of Mahatma Gandhi.

He was born in Gagode village in Colaba (now Raigad District of Mumbai State, Maharashtra) on September 11, 1895 into a pious family of the Chitpavan Brahmin clan. He was brought-up in Baroda. He was highly inspired after reading the Bhagavad Gita, Mahabharat, Ramayan at a very early age. His father, Naraharishumbhurao Bhave was a devout Hindu and his mother, Rukmini Devi who died in 1918, was a great influence on him. In his memoir, Bhave states that, "there is nothing to equal the part my mother played in shaping my mind". Specifically, her devotion and spirituality.

His two brothers, Balkoba Bhave and Shivaji Bhave, were also bachelors devoted to social work.
