The Three Links or Three Linkages (Chinese: 三通; Pinyin: sān tōng) was a "message to Compatriots in Taiwan" calling for the unification of mainland China and Taiwan. It was sent by the PRC National People's Congress in 1979.

The three links include direct postal (通郵/通邮 tōng yóu), transportation (especially airline) (通航 tōng háng), and trade (通商 tōng shāng) links between mainland China and Taiwan. Communication between the two sides were routed through intermediate destinations, primarily Hong Kong; Macau; Jeju, South Korea and Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The "Three Links" were officially restored on 15 December 2008, with the commencement of direct flights, shipping and post.

In December 1978 after Deng Xiaoping and his supporters won the Third Plenum of the 11th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, it started China's economic reform. This also began a new direction in the PRC's foreign policy. On January 1, 1979 Beijing proposed the Three Links of postal, commercial and transportation. It was also proposed together with the Four flows/Four exchanges which included relatives, tourists, academic groups, cultural groups and sports representatives. This was greeted in Taiwan by President Chiang Ching-kuo’s Three Noes.

Kevin Seconds is a singer/songwriter/musician, born in Sacramento. As a teen, he moved with his family to Reno, Nevada where he lived until 1988 when he relocated back to Sacramento and has been based ever since.

He founded the highly influential hardcore punk band 7 Seconds in 1979 with his brother Steve Youth. Having been their frontman from the start, he also writes their lyrics. The band signed to the Better Youth Organization label in late 1983. BYO put out 7 Seconds' first record, The Crew. Since its formation, 7 Seconds has released over 15 records as well as touring North America, Europe and Japan multiple times.

Simultaneously with his career with 7 Seconds, he has been engaged in several side band projects. These include Go National, Drop Acid, Mustard, 5'10", Ghetto Moments and The Altruistics. He recently started a secret musical/art project called Swallow My Pride that will make its debut in the spring of 2011.

Besides his musical endeavors, Seconds is an artist and illustrator and makes his artwork available at his live shows and via his website. He also hosts a 2-hour punk rock online radio show called Pay To Strum with Kevin Seconds, on the popular Canadian-based Internet radio station punkradiocast.com. The show is currently on hiatus while Seconds tours as a solo artist and with 7 Seconds. Seconds announced recently that he was working on creating a new radio show he will produce and host via his own radio site radio.kevinseconds.com. There is no official kickoff date but he occasionally does "test broadcasts".
