PARIS—Syria has accumulated a stockpile of at least 1,000 tons of chemical weapons developed by a scientific research complex at Barzah, French newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche reported. This is among the conclusions of a four-page report prepared by the French intelligence services for the French government and that may be made public in the coming days, according to the newspaper. The report lists Syria's chemical weapons arsenal, ranging from several hundred tons of sulfur mustard gas, as well as several hundred tons of VX and sarin, both nerve agents that are classified as weapons of mass destruction.
