אוסלו נורווגיה Norway Oslo
As of January 2013, the population of the municipality of Oslo in excess of 623,000.[14] The urban area extends beyond the boundaries of the municipality into the surrounding county of Akershus, (municipalities of Bærum, Asker, Røyken, Lørenskog, Skedsmo, Gjerdrum, Sørum, Oppegård) its agglomeration total 951,581 inhabitants.[15] The metropolitan area of Oslo, also referred to as the Greater Oslo Region (Norwegian: Stor-Osloregionen), has a land area of 8,900 km2 (3,400 sq mi)[16] with a population of 1,422,442 as of 1 April 2010. The Inner Oslo Fjord Region, or the Capital Region made up by the five counties of Oslo, Akershus, Buskerud, Vestfold (west bank of the Oslo fjord) and Østfold (east bank) has a population of 1,980,116 people (as of January 2013). The city centre is situated at the end of the Oslofjord, from which point the city sprawls out in three distinct "corridors" from its centre; inland north-eastwards, and southwards along both sides of the fjord, which gives the urbanized area a shape reminiscent of an upside-down reclining "Y" (on maps, satellite pictures, or from high above the city). To the north and east, wide forested hills (Marka) rise above the city giving the location the shape of a giant amphitheatre. The urban municipality (bykommune) of Oslo and county of Oslo (fylke) are two parts of the same entity, making Oslo the only city in Norway where two administrative levels are integrated. Of Oslo's total area, 115 km2 (44 sq mi) is built-up and 7 km2 (2.7 sq mi) is agricultural. The open areas within the built-up zone amount to 22 km2 (8.5 sq mi). The city of Oslo was established as a municipality on 3 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). It was separated from the county of Akershus to become a county of its own in 1842. The rural municipality of Aker was merged with Oslo on 1 January 1948 (and simultaneously transferred from Akershus county to Oslo county). Furthermore, Oslo shares several important functions with Akershus county. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia- published: 29 Dec 2013

Counties of Norway - Fylkene Norge
Norway is divided into 19 (20 with Svalbard) administrative regions, called counties (singular Norwegian: fylke, plural Norwegian: fylker (Bokmål) / fylke (Nynorsk)); until 1918, they were known as amter. The counties form the primary first-level subdivisions of Norway and are further divided into 430 municipalities (kommune, pl. kommuner / kommunar). The capital Oslo is considered both a county and a municipality. Tour through the Hallingdal valley, Norway
Tour through the Hallingdal valley, Norway
Driving on the number 7, the road through Hallingdal, starting in the neighborhood of Flå and ending in the neighborhood of Gol. Hallingdal is a valley and traditional district in Buskerud county in Norway. It consists of the municipalities of Flå, Nes, Gol, Hemsedal, Ål and Hol. The video ends with a beautiful painting, created by Johan Christian Dahl, in 1844, named: View over Hallingdal. Information Hallindal: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallingdal Music in this video: Stellardrone, Etherial Geirr Tveitt, the introduction of Variations on a Folksong from Hardanger, for orchestra & 2 pianos The inhabitants are often called Hallinger (singular halling). Halling dialect (Hallingdialekt) is a dialect from Hallingdal. It belongs to a dialect group traditionally spoken in Norwegian mountainous areas. Hallingdal has developed its own brand of the rosemaling, with a distinct symmetric style, different from the style in Telemark and Valdres. The valley also fostered a number of known painters during the 18th and 19th century. The music of Hallingdal is traditionally dominated by the Hardanger fiddle, which was taken into use from c. 1750. The dance tunes of the valley have a distinct pattern, following three different lines of tradition, one in the south, at Nes, and two in the area of Ål. The tunes from Ål are recognized by a distinct rolling on the fiddle-bow, and the tunes are fairly old. From early on, Hallingdal also developed a tradition for langeleik, partly replaced by the fiddle. The folk music tradition is held alive even today in the valley. After the building of the railway line Oslo-Bergen, the accordion came into use, and many fiddle tunes were adapted to the new instrument -- usually a diatonic button accordion. Hallingdal is the only area where the old fiddle music were adapted like this in local tradition. Halling is the name of an old folk dance that is traditionally used in Norway. Each dancer is alone, in contrast to the more common couple's dances. The climax of the dance is known as thrown Halling, where the goal is to kick down a hat from a stick. The dance is often called Lausdans meaning loose in Hallingdal and Valdres, but known as the Halling in most other valleys. The parents of Norwegian romanticist painter Hans Gude lived in Hallingdal until 1852, and Gude painted many of his works there.- published: 10 Nov 2013

Birkenes - Norway
Birkenes is a municipality in Aust-Agder county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Sørlandet. The village of Birkeland is the administrative center and about half of the municipality's residents live there. Birkeland is 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Kristiansand and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) from Lillesand. The municipality borders Kristiansand and Vennesla municipalities in Vest-Agder county and Iveland, Evje og Hornnes, Froland, Grimstad, and Lillesand municipalities in Aust-Adger. Name The municipality (originally the parish) is named after the old Birkenes farm (Old Norse Birkines), since the first church was built there. The first element is birki which means "birch wood" and the last element is nes which means "headland .History. The historic parish of Tveit had to be divided into two formannskapsdistrikts on 1 January 1838 because the main part of Tveit belonged to the county of Vest-Agder and the annex of Birkenæs belonged to the county of Aust-Agder. On 1 January 1883, an uninhabited part of Birkenes was transferred to the control of neighboring Landvik municipality. Starting in the 1960s, Norway enacted many municipal reforms such as mergers and border adjustments, and on 1 January 1967, the neighboring municipalities of Herefoss (population: 585) and Vegusdal (population: 582) were merged into the municipality of Birkenes. The new municipality had a population of 3,050. On 1 January 1970, two uninhabited areas of Neset and Råbudal in Froland (formerly in the municipality of Mykland until 1967) were transferred to Birkenes. On 1 January 1979, the uninhabited area of Landheia in Froland was transferred to the control of Birkenes. Later, on 1 January 1986, the Lislevand farm area (population: 8) was transferred from Birkenes to the neighboring municipality of Evje og Hornnes. Then on 1 January 1991, the Dalen area of Birkenes (population: 60) was transferred to the neighboring municipality of Froland GOD BLESS ALL- published: 21 Sep 2013

Music Without Borders 2011 / Muzika bez granica 2011.
Projekat izvode Društvo prijateljstva Norveška-Zapadni Balkan i Norveško društvo - Srbija uz podršku Ambasade kraljevine norveške u Beogradu, Sparebanken Midt Norge, Norveškog Ministarstva inostranih poslova - MIC program, Okružnih veća Nurlan i Južni Trendelag i opština Gornji Milanovac i Obrenovac. ENGLISH VERSION "Music Without Borders" is an international cultural and youth co-operation project which was carried out for several years, but only with participants from Norway and Serbia, and from time to time Sweden. After a long break, the project was reactivated. Now, in 2011, the Friendship Association Norway-Western Balkans together with Norwegian Association - Serbia expanded the project to include more countries from former Yugoslavia. Four Norwegian municipalities have agreed to participate along with their sister cities in the Western Balkans. The municipalities are: Vefsn, Ørland, Bjugn and Orkdal from Norway, Mostar (BIH), and Gornji Milanovac and Obrenovac from Serbia. "Music Without Borders 2011." provides for participation of young people aged 14 to 20 and this years main theme is rock music. Every municipality that participates in the project is represented by a young rock band. Youth will meet in Gornji Milanovac and practice together through 4 days. Training is composed in the form of open workshops with professional musicians as instructors and jam-session where young people will interact and exchange ideas through music. The aim is that youth through workshops and concerts build networks, and the festival and workshops will contribute to the strengthening of intercultural dialogue. (As defined by the Council of Europe: Intercultural dialogue is mutual respect and open exchange of views between individuals and groups with different ethnic, cultural, religious and linguistic background and heritage). Youth will also participate in the organization of the festival which will be implemented together with partner organizations: Citizens Association "Free Space" from Gornji Milanovac and Cultural Centre Gornji Milanovac. The project is carried out with support from the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade, Sparebanken Midt Norge, The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs - MIC program, South Trøndelag County Council, Nurland County Council and the municipalities of Gornji Milanovac and Obrenovac.- published: 14 Nov 2013

The Sunsets of Malvik
A series of sunsets captured in the municipality of Malvik in Norway in the summer of 2011, and combined into a time-lapse. It´s north facing coastline by the Trondheimsfjord is ideal for capturing the late night sunsets. As the sun only dips below the horizon during the summer months on this latitude, the red sunlight might be playing on the underside of the clouds for hours into the night, and put on a fantastic show for those who take their time to appreciate them.
