The Moffatts

The Moffatts were a Canadian pop/rock band, composed of brothers Scott, Clint, Bob and Dave Moffatt. Scott was born on March 30, 1983 in Whitehorse, Yukon and triplets Bob, Clint and Dave were born in Vancouver, British Columbia on March 8, 1984. Bob and Clint are identical twins while Dave is a fraternal triplet.

The band started out as a country music vocal group during their childhood, and rose to worldwide fame with their first pop album Chapter I: A New Beginning (1998). They released one more album Submodalities in 2000 before breaking up in 2001. The band reunited for an online Christmas show on December 22, 2012 on Stageit.

Musical career

1987–1997: Early years and country albums

Growing up in Tumbler Ridge and later Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, The Moffatts learned singing early in their lives and singing country music with their mother, Darlana and father, Frank Moffatt, first appearing on-stage in 1987. In 1992, after performing at large-scale country music festivals, the group was nominated for five awards by the British Columbia Country Music Association.

Like Crazy

Like Crazy is a 2011 American romantic drama film directed by Drake Doremus and starring Anton Yelchin, Felicity Jones and Jennifer Lawrence. Written by Doremus and Ben York Jones, the film tells the story of Anna (Felicity Jones), a British exchange student who falls in love with an American student, Jacob (Yelchin), only to be separated from him when she is denied re-entry into the United States after staying in the country longer than her student visa allows.

Doremus based the storyline of the film partly on his own long-distance relationship with a woman living in London while he lived in Los Angeles. Rather than writing a traditional screenplay, he and Ben York Jones compiled a 50-page outline of the film from which the actors improvised almost all of the dialogue. Filming took place over four weeks in Los Angeles and London with a budget of US$250,000.

Like Crazy premiered on January 22, 2011 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it won the festival's Grand Jury Prize. It was released in theaters on October 28, 2011 and grossed over $3.5 million at the box office. Most reviews of the film were positive, with reviewers giving particular praise to the performances of Yelchin and Jones, although some found the plot unrealistic and contrived.

"Miss You Like Crazy" is a 1989 R&B/Soul song recorded by American singer Natalie Cole and released March 15, 1989 from her album Good to Be Back. The song is a moving ballad in which the singer describes how she is feeling lonely and is longing for the one she misses "like crazy" (or, in other words, very much).

Background

"Miss You Like Crazy" was a huge hit for Cole, becoming her fifth Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where the song peaked at #7. The song also topped both the R&B and adult contemporary charts in 1989, as well as reaching #2 on the UK Singles Chart. In Canada, the song peaked at number 19 for two weeks at the end of June.

"Miss You Like Crazy" is ranked as the 67th biggest US hit of 1989.
