Richard William Prebble CBE, born 7 February 1948, was for many years a member of the New Zealand Parliament. Initially a member of the Labour Party, he joined the newly formed ACT New Zealand party under Roger Douglas in 1996.

Prebble was born in Kent, England to Kenneth Ralph Prebble and Mary Prebble (née Thoad), and raised in Auckland. His father was an Anglican priest, and a leader in the Charismatic movement as archdeacon at St. Pauls. Richard attended the University of Auckland, gaining a BA degree in 1970 and an LLB (Hons.) degree in 1972. He was admitted to the Bar in 1971, and practised law in both New Zealand and Fiji.

Prebble's older brother, John Prebble, is a Professor of Law at Victoria University of Wellington. His younger brother, Mark Prebble was the State Services Commissioner, and head of New Zealand's public service. John's daughter Antonia Prebble is an actor with a number of television roles. Prebble's wife Doreen, from whom he is separated, is a Solomon Islander and a former Honorary Consul for the Solomon Islands in New Zealand. His partner is former Press Gallery radio journalist Ngahuia Wade.

Scott James (born 6 July 1994 in Melbourne, Victoria) is an Australian snowboarder.

James first competed on the international circuit as a 14-year-old at the 2008 Europa Cup in Saas Fee, Switzerland. Throughout the last two World Cup seasons, he has proven himself an up and coming star of the halfpipe, with consistently improving results. A 23rd place in the 2008–09 FIS Snowboard World Cup in Kreischberg, Austria in January 2010 earned the 15-year-old global recognition.In 2010 he gets a sponsorschip by Red Bull and this team is helpeing him right now to train hard and make him even better then now

When teammate Nate Johnstone was ruled out of the Games with an ankle injury, James dashed to the World Cup in Stoneham, Canada to try and achieve the top 19 result that would make him eligible to replace Johnstone. He pulled off his best result to date, a 15th which secured him a place in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. At the age of 15, James was the Australia's youngest male Olympian in 50 years and the youngest male competitor at the Vancouver Games.

Richard Alexander Burns (17 January 1971 – 25 November 2005) was an English rally driver. He was born in Reading, Berkshire. He was the 2001 World Rally Champion, having previously finished runner-up in the series in 1999 and 2000. He also helped Mitsubishi to the world manufacturers' title in 1998, and Peugeot in 2002. His co-driver from the 1991 to 2003 seasons was Robert Reid.

He started driving in a field near his house at the age of eight, in his father's old Triumph 2000. At eleven Burns joined the Under 17 Car Club, where he became driver of the year in 1984. Just two years later his father arranged a trip to Jan Churchill's Welsh Forest Rally School near Newtown, Powys where Burns drove a Ford Escort for the day, and from that moment on he knew what he wanted to do. He badgered his father into letting him join the Craven Motor Club in his home town Reading where his talent was spotted by rally enthusiast David Williams. In 1988 he entered his first rallies in his own Talbot Sunbeam. The car was too basic to make much impression and in 1989 he had to borrow other competitors cars in order to progress. To this end he rallied the stages of Panaround, Bagshot, Mid-Wales, Millbrook, Severn Valley, Kayel Graphics and the Cambrian Rally as these were all rallies which included stages used on more prestigious events.

Antonia Mary Prebble (born on 6 June 1984 in Wellington) is a New Zealand actress most famous for her role as Loretta West in the hit television show Outrageous Fortune and as Trudy in The Tribe.

She became interested in acting at an early age, starring in the stage play The Magical Kingdom of Thingymijig in 1993. Throughout the late 1990s Antonia started to work a lot with New Zealand children's TV production companies, having starring and guest roles in several programmes. Two of her larger roles include that of Mandy McFarlane in Mirror Mirror 2 in 1997 and as Trudy in five series' of The The Tribe from 1999 to 2003. She has also guest starred in two episodes of Power Rangers: Dino Thunder as Krista, alongside two of her fellow cast members from The Tribe. In 2006 she began her role in Power Rangers: Mystic Force as Clare, Udonna's apprentice and the Gatekeeper.

In 2005 she went on to win a place in the main cast of the new New Zealand comedy-drama Outrageous Fortune, where she plays 15-year-old movie buff Loretta West.

Mark Prebble CNZM (born 1951) is a former New Zealand civil servant. He was the State Services Commissioner, head of New Zealand's public service from May 2004 until 30 June 2008. On 25 January 2008, Prebble announced his retirement after 32 years in the Public Service.

Prebble was born in Auckland, New Zealand, the youngest son of Kenneth Prebble, a one-time Anglican Archdeacon of St Matthew's in Auckland, and Mary. He has five siblings, two brothers are former Labour Cabinet Minister and ACT Party leader Richard Prebble and Victoria University Law Professor John Prebble.

Prebble was educated at the University of Auckland, where he graduated with an MA in Economics, and at Victoria University of Wellington, where he earned a doctorate in public policy. Prebble tutored economics at Auckland and Wellington.

Prebble joined the Treasury in 1977, rising to Deputy Secretary of the Department, and acted as Acting Secretary twice. While in non-executive roles at the Treasury, he was an organiser for the Public Service Association, the principal trade union for public servants.
