Antiwar, Syrian, and Egyptian protesters at the White House 8-31
On the 31st of August, three different rallies converged on the White House. The first was an antiwar rally, hurredly called as Obama spoke on delaying his attack on Syria. The second was a pro intervention Syrian protest. The third was a pro-Morsi Egyptian protest condemning the coup. They marched to the Egyptian military attache's office.

On the 30th of August, antiwar activists on bicycles took to the streets to carry a massage opposing Obama's futile bombing threats against Syria's regime. The ride set out at perhaps 5:30PM, right in the heart of rush hour.

Aug 28 MLK anniversary march ends in police checkpoints, metal detectors
On the 28th of August, a massive crowd marched from 600 New Jersey Ave to the Washington Monument. There a line stretched from 17th st all the way back to 15th st to pass through police search checkpoints.

Park Police seized "Stop Mass Incarceration and the New Jim Crow" placards at MLK 50th anniv rally
An ugly new development about the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King's March on Washington for Jobs and Justice. Park Police aggressssivly stole about 200 signs from marchers opposing mass incarceration. Their attack failed, I saw a massive contingent with the signs at 17th st.
