Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen (born September 23, 1949) is an American musician, singer, songwriter and humanitarian. He is best known for his work with his E Street Band. Nicknamed "The Boss," Springsteen is widely known for his brand of poetic lyrics, Americana, working class and sometimes political sentiments centered on his native New Jersey, his distinctive voice and his lengthy and energetic stage performances, with concerts from the 1970s to the present decade running over three hours in length.
Springsteen's recordings have included both commercially accessible rock albums and more somber folk-oriented works. His most successful studio albums, Born to Run (1975) and Born in the U.S.A. (1984), showcase a talent for finding grandeur in the struggles of daily American life; he has sold more than 64 million albums in the United States and more than 120 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. He has earned numerous awards for his work, including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award as well as being inducted into both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.
A wrecking ball is a heavy steel ball, usually hung from a crane, that is used for demolishing large buildings. It was most commonly in use during the 1950s and 1960s. Several wrecking companies claim to have invented the wrecking ball. An early documented use was in the breaking up of the SS Great Eastern in 1888-1889, by Henry Bath and Co, at Rock Ferry on the River Mersey.
In 1999, the wrecking ball was described as "one of the most common forms of large-scale coarse demolition." Although the wrecking ball is still the most efficient way to raze a concrete frame structure, its use is decreasing. With the invention of hydraulic excavators and other machinery, the wrecking ball has become less common at demolition sites as its working efficiency is less than that of high reach excavators.
Modern wrecking balls have had a slight re-shaping, with the metal sphere changed into a pear shape with a portion of the top cut off. This shape allows the ball to be more easily pulled back through a roof or concrete slab after it has broken through.
A wrecking ball is a heavy steel ball suspended from a crane that is used for building demolition.

The Scots-English language name Bruce arrived in Scotland with the Normans, from the place name Brix of the Manche département in Normandy, France, meaning "the willowlands". Initially promulgated via the descendants of King Robert I of Scotland (Robert the Bruce) (1274-1329), it has been a Scottish surname since medieval times; it is now a common given name.
The variant Lebrix and Le Brix are French variations of the surname.

The teenager who stole Springsteen's Brisbane Show. He may be in trouble for skipping school, but a Brisbane teenager is counting his lucky stars after he got to jam alongside Bruce Springsteen on Thursday night. The teen was called up on stage to sing to a crowd of adoring fans after holding up a sign requesting to share a song with The Boss. Springsteen read the sign, "Missed school, in the s--- now, can I play Growin' Up with you?" out loud to the masses. "Do you know the song?" Springsteen called out to the teen. "You know it on guitar?...Well come on up!" The boy raced to the stage and was handed a guitar before he tuned it and began pelting out the lyrics to the song from Greetings From Asbury Park, sharing the mic with Springsteen. About halfway through, Springsteen asked the tee...

Number 4 of my 20 best full show videos. I am very proud of this one. First time I flew to the States to see Bruce and what do I come home with? The best video from any show done in the US ;-) Unfortunately, Bruce's voice that night was a little off and his moves were stiff and the show ended abrubptly. Rumors say the reasons for all of this was because Bruce was in pain. Apparently two shows before people let him fall during the crowd surf... Anyway, the amazing setlist, Bruce and the band giving everything and having so much fun, the last show of the tour and this fantatsic video make this show a MUST-SEE and MUST-HAVE blu-ray. The blu-ray is of much greater quality than this youtube upload. The blu-ray is in high definition, the youtube video is not. Also to note: All 2014 shows were of...

Best audience shot video in the world. By any band. Nothing comes close. Still, years later I feel proud when I watch it knowing that I encouraged friends and other fans of Bruce's music to film for my multicam edits and to buy the Sony HX20V (back then the best compact digital camera in the world) and make all my multicam mixes possible. We filmed this magical night in Leeds together knowing that we are not shooting alone. We knew we could take little breaks and someone else would cover it. We just knew this was going to become a fanatastic film. We all had good spots, the setting was just lovely (I think it was one of the smallest arenas ever that Bruce and the E Street Band played in), the show was awesome and the sound was great. After the show my friends and many fans waited impatient...

It's no wonder our 2003 Ben Watts monograph, Big Up, sold out before it was even released. Watts is internationally known for bringing the frenetic verve of street photography to his diverse body of work. Whether on location for Vanity Fair, Elle, Rolling Stone, or Nike, Watts's camera captures a feeling of barely contained, youthful energy and sucks the raw essence out of his subjects. Watts has an uncanny ability to simultaneously put his subjects at ease and amp up their adrenaline. His working process has as much in common with the call-and-response patterns in hip-hop music as it does with the traditional conventions of photography. He is always ready to swap his professional camera for a Polaroid so that his subjects can see the photos immediately and tag them with shout-outs or tras...
