The tourism advertisement showcases the wealth of tourist attractions that Junee has to offer. Visitors are invited 'to come, to see and enjoy our home town', NRL commentator, Ray Warren.
Junee has a lot to offer to visitors! Looming on top of the hill overlooking Junee, is the late Victorian Manor built in 1885 known as Monte Cristo Homestead, 'Australia's Most Haunted House.' Visitors flock to this historical wonder that is Junee, to escape reality and experience the past. They indulge in the marvel and magic of the famous Junee Licorice & Chocolate, experience the warmth of the antique themed bed and breakfast accommodation and take a walk along the renaissance style railway station dating back to the 1800's. Junee
Junee /dʒuːˈni/ is a medium-sized town in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia. The town's prosperity and mixed services economy is based on a combination of agriculture, rail transport, light industry and government services, and in particular correctional services. In 2011 Junee's urban population was 4,400.
Place name
One theory is that word Junee which originates from the Aboriginal word 'Jewnee' means "speak to me". Another theory is that it is an Aboriginal word "Choo-nee" meaning "frog".
History
The Wiradjuri people are the traditional owners of the local area prior to European settlement. Leopold de Salis (1816-1898), pastoralist and later politician was one of the principal squatters to open up the Riverina region to agriculture. He established the 'Jewnee' pastoral run in the 1840s. A post office opened in 1862 and a village called 'Jewnee' was gazetted in 1863 on the wool road to Sydney. That same year, Ben Hall and his bushranging gang raided the village.
In 1866 Junee's population was recorded as twelve but the discovery of reef and alluvial gold during the 1860s triggered a gold rush. The main sites – Old Junee (to the west), Junee Reefs (to the north) and Illabo (to the north-east) – were mined until the 1880s.

On the 5th of June 2015, the Largest Operating Steam Locomotive in the Southern Hemisphere, 6029, started a historic journey down to Junee to perform Shuttles in the Wagga area for the Long weekend. Commissioned by the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism, We spent 5 summer months filming Lebanon from Above, including its rural, urban, cultural touristic and historical location, as well as the amazing number of festivals.
The idea was to show Lebanon's beauty, diversity and wealth from another angle (above), in order to encourage and promote international and domestic tourism.
My main personal goal is to remind us all that Lebanon is not all about problems, political turmoil, trash...etc but is first and foremost a country that has so much to offer on such a small portion of land, and it still, in spite of everything, truly beautiful.
Maybe by seeing this video, people who lost sight of what Lebanon truly is, will have newfound optimism and strength to participate in steering the country in the right direction, to understand that it is their country to love and protect.

We filmed from mid June to early November and covered Mount Lebanon, Beirut, Southern Lebanon, the Bekaa, Baalbek and North Lebanon.
We received amazing support from the Ministry of Tourism, as well as the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Defense, the Lebanese Air Force and the Lebanese Army Intelligence.
From the beginning, a social media campaign was created on Instagram, under @riseabovelebanon, which yielded a lot of interest and followers, reaching an organic 8,000 followers so far.
The book, also titled "Rise Above Lebanon", was released on 2 December 2015. it is a hardcover photography book of the highest standard, with 200 pages of images of Lebanon from Above and is available in all major bookshops in Lebanon.
The video, of a duration of 5 minutes was released by Live Love Lebanon and the Ministry of Tourism on 4 February 2016 and immediately went viral, with over 500,000 views in the first 24 hours, as well as 18,000 shares, 12,000 likes and hundreds of comments (99% of which are positive).
The result is this video of 5 Minutes.

Classic Restos are in Junee in the NSW Riverina, for the Junee Charity Show n Shine. These country towns are absolutely magnificent and so are the people, no matter what country town you travel to you'll find a bunch of people that are crazy about their cars. Don't think for one second that all of the good stuff is hiding in the cities. There are plenty of classic vehicles around these outback blocks that have served their purpose in the past and are now serving enthusiasts as preserved classics. The Junee Motor Club are behind this day with all profits off to the Junee Hospital.

Classic Restos are in Junee in the NSW Riverina, for the Junee Charity Show n Shine. These country towns are absolutely magnificent and so are the people, no matter what country town you travel to you'll find a bunch of people that are crazy about their cars. Don't think for one second that all of the good stuff is hiding in the cities. There are plenty of classic vehicles around these outback blocks that have served their purpose in the past and are now serving enthusiasts as preserved classics. The Colour In Your Life team travelled 1,248 kilometres from Murwillumbah to Junee. The Junee Correctional Centre is a medium/minimum security institution for males located 450km south-west of Sydney and 40km from Wagga Wagga.
On arriving at their destination the Colour In Your Life Team were greeted by the wonderful staff of the Junee Correctional Centre who have helped make the initial project possible. Much preparation had gone into actually making this happen and an enormous amount of community spirit and organization to create such an event.
The center has an education partnership with TAFE NSW Riverina Institute, which allows training programs to be delivered by qualified and industry experienced teaching staff. Courses offered include commercial cooking, hospitality services, small business management, literacy and numeracy, computer studies, distance education programs, Aboriginal culture, automotive studies, basic engineering, rural studies and visual arts.
Graeme and the team were greeted by 25 inmates in the Gymnasium, which also has a section used for visual arts. Over the course of the day the Colour In Your Life team conducted a series of different art workshops, teaching the inmates different painting techniques that they would be able to practice and utilize in their daily life. There really was a sense of joy in the room when the guys were painting, as some of the inmates had not even picked up a paintbrush before.
A great day was had by all and a good change for the psychology of the inmates was made as well. We all live in a left-brain world; maybe getting in touch with our right brain will help many people through difficult times.
