On Saturday 25th October, students and adult singers from West Oxfordshire Academy of Performing Arts (WOAPA) gathered at Cokethorpe School, Witney, for a 'secret' recording and filming project. Having been approached by Oxfam to record and film a song: 'Diggy Diggy Hole' (originally produced by gaming company 'The Yogscast'). The aim of the project was to present the end result to The Yogscast to say a big thank you to them, and their fans, for donating over £400,000 to Oxfam since 2011, raising valuable funds to supply things like cows, goats and bees to areas in Africa that desperately need them. We hope you enjoy watching the video as much as we enjoyed making it. For more information about our Academy of Performing Arts in West Oxfordshire, please visit our website at www.WOAPA.co.uk
Come with me as I drive along the A40. It took 35 minutes on quite a quiet traffic Monday to drive from Witney to Eynsham roundabout, then 6 minutes to get back while miles and miles of traffic queued the other way. It has been getting worse for decade. It is a horror story and we all need to share that story so that it is a top priority for councils and government and something gets done.

Oxfordshire ( /ˈɒksfərdʃər/ or /ˈɒksfərdʃɪər/; archaically the County of Oxford; abbreviated Oxon from the Latinised form of "Oxford", Oxonia) is a county in the South East region of England, bordering on Warwickshire and Northamptonshire (to the north/northeast), Buckinghamshire (to the east), Berkshire (to the south), Wiltshire (to the southwest) and Gloucestershire (to the west).
The county has major education and tourist industries. The area is noted for the concentration of performance motorsport companies and facilities. Oxford University Press is the largest firm among a concentration of print and publishing firms; the University of Oxford is also linked to the concentration of local biotechnology companies.
The main centre of population is the city of Oxford. Other significant settlements are Banbury, Bicester, Kidlington, and Chipping Norton to the north of Oxford; Witney to the west; Thame and Chinnor to the east; and Abingdon, Wantage, Didcot, Wallingford and Henley-on-Thames to the south. Future population growth in the county is hoped[clarification needed] to be concentrated around Oxford, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot and Witney, near the South Midlands growth area.
West Oxfordshire is a local government district in north west Oxfordshire, England including towns such as Woodstock, Burford, Chipping Norton, Charlbury, and Witney (where the council is based).
The area is mainly rural downland and forest, the main activities being farming and associated trades.
The district was formed on 1 April 1974, under the Local Government Act 1972, by a merger of the municipal boroughs of Chipping Norton and Witney urban district, and Chipping Norton Rural District and Witney Rural District.
West Oxfordshire lies within the River Thames catchment area, with the Thames itself and its tributaries including the River Evenlode and River Windrush running through the area. Parts of the district suffered severe flooding during the 2007 floods in the UK.
