Godfather (2007 film)

Godfather (2007} is a Pakistani Urdu film directed by Hriday Shetty released across theaters in Pakistan on October 14, 2007. The film has a cast including both Pakistani and Indian actors. It showed Vinod Khanna for the first time on the Pakistani cinema screen. It was distributed nationwide by the private channel ARY Digital. The film may have drawn inspiration from Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather.

Plot

A thriller focusing on the rise of a group of influential and powerful gangsters. Ali is a shepherd who has shouldered responsibility of fending for his family, including his parents Farid and Faatima, and his younger sister Nahid. One fateful day he ends up saving Abdullah Khan's (the underworld gangster) life. As a result, Abdullah's rival, Khalid eliminates Ali's family brutally. A repentant Abdullah adopts Ali and Nahid. Abdullah's wife, Salima Begum, welcomes Ali and Nahid whole-heartedly. But these youngsters are resented by Shaakir, Abdullah's son, who feels that Ali is getting more attention and love than him. Meanwhile, Ali soon realises that power is everything in this world and so joins Abdullah in his business. Under the love and care of Abdullah he grows to be a heroic but feared force. He may be ruthless in his dealings but always has great compassion. As Ali becomes the new face of Abdullah Khan's vast empire and a champion of the needy, Shaakir becomes more resentful. When Abdullah announces Ali as his heir, Shaakir becomes furious. Godfather (band)

Formed in 2002 by guitarist Real Deal (Tom Bainbridge), Godfather released their debut album, Money Shot, in February 2002. The majority of the songwriting is from Real Deal who is also their recording engineer.

Biography

Otherwise known as Tom Bainbridge, Real Deal is the lead vocals, lead guitarist and the creative driving force for the band. Note, he tutors none other than Sam Elliott.

Tiny Monkey, or Steve Allsworth, provides the backing vocals and backing guitar. He has frequently played lead guitar for Ronan Keating.

Jellyroll (Joe Cole), studied under Archie Shepp and plays keyboard and piano for the band.

Bassman, A.K.A. Fabian Bonner, plays bass guitar for the band and has previously played in Horace X and Fully Funktional.

Also known as Ian Pickering, Colonel plays drums for the band and has previously played with Fully Funktional and Rob Jackson.

Godfather (2012 film)

Godfather is a 2012 Indian Kannada Language action thriller film directed by cinematographer-turned- director Sethu Sriram starring Upendra and Soundarya Jayamala in the lead roles. Catherine Tresa also plays a prominent role and Bhumika Chawla makes a special appearance.

The film is remake of the 2006 Tamil blockbuster Varalaru that starred Ajith Kumar, Asin Thottumkal and Kanika Subramaniam in the lead roles. Internationally acclaimed composer A. R. Rahman, who composed music for the original Tamil version, is the composer of the songs, while Rajesh Ramanath composed the background score.

The film was released on 27 July 2012 and opened to a large number of highly positive reviews from the critics. Upendra's performance of a Bharatha Natyam dancer and as an old man bound to his wheelchair was highly acclaimed by critics and is considered one of the best performances of his career.Godfather performed moderately well at the box office and was declared a "Hit".

Plot

Shivasagar (Upendra), a wheelchair user, has a son, Vijay (also Upendra) who is playful and irresponsible. To teach him a lesson, he sends Vijay to Bhamapura to help the poor. Vijay doesn't want to go, but a local pizza restaurateur convinces Vijay and his friends that the village is one big brothel. In reality, Bhamapura is a sacred village and the restaurateur had purposefully deceived Vijay and his friends. Divya (Soundarya Jayamala) and her classmates also visit the village. They come for their social activity course to improve the village's health and hygiene. A large building is reserved for him and the girls are asked to stay in the poor families' houses. Vijay and his friends arrive and start to woo the girls, whom they mistake for Bhamapura's prostitutes. When Divya discovers their plan, she and her friends decide to teach Vijay and his friends a lesson.

The Godfather Part II

The Godfather Part II is a 1974 American epic crime film produced and directed by Francis Ford Coppola from a screenplay co-written with Mario Puzo, starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. Partially based on Puzo's 1969 novel The Godfather, the film is both sequel and prequel to The Godfather, presenting parallel dramas: one picks up the 1958 story of Michael Corleone (Pacino), the new Don of the Corleone crime family, protecting the family business in the aftermath of an attempt on his life; the prequel covers the journey of his father, Vito Corleone (De Niro), from his Sicilian childhood to the founding of his family enterprise in New York City.

An Oscar winner for Best Picture, the film received widespread acclaim from critics, with some deeming it superior to the 1972 original. Nominated for eleven Academy Awards and the first sequel to win for Best Picture, its six Oscars included Best Director for Coppola, Best Supporting Actor for De Niro and Best Adapted Screenplay for Coppola and Puzo. Pacino won the BAFTA Award for Best Actor and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor.

Film is a monthly Polish magazine devoted to cinema. It has been in publication since 1946, originally as a bimonthly publication. The founders were Jerzy Giżycki, Zbigniew Pitera, Tadeusz Kowalski, and Leon Bukowiecki.

Since September 2012, the editor-in-chief has been Tomasz Raczek. Previous editors have included Maciej Pawlicki, Lech Kurpiewski, Igor Zalewski and Robert Mazurek, Agnieszka Różycka, Marcin Prokop and Jacek Rakowiecki.

Lubrication theory

In fluid dynamics, lubrication theory describes the flow of fluids (liquids or gases) in a geometry in which one dimension is significantly smaller than the others. An example is the flow above air hockey tables, where the thickness of the air layer beneath the puck is much smaller than the dimensions of the puck itself.

Internal flows are those where the fluid is fully bounded. Internal flow lubrication theory has many industrial applications because of its role in the design of fluid bearings. Here a key goal of lubrication theory is to determine the pressure distribution in the fluid volume, and hence the forces on the bearing components. The working fluid in this case is often termed a lubricant.

Free film lubrication theory is concerned with the case in which one of the surfaces containing the fluid is a free surface. In that case the position of the free surface is itself unknown, and one goal of lubrication theory is then to determine this. Surface tension may then be significant, or even dominant. Issues of wetting and dewetting then arise. For very thin films (thickness less than one micrometre), additional intermolecular forces, such as Van der Waals forces or disjoining forces, may become significant.
