最近看到有關大嶼山發展的報道，指大嶼山的郊野公園使用率低，建議將其發展，又形容大嶼山現時是香港的「腳趾尾」，發展後會由「醜小鴨」變「白天鵝」。
2012 年大嶼山郊野公園訪客人數達 184 萬人次，明顯地，它的使用率並不低。而現時的大嶼山被形容為「醜小鴨」，難道石屎森林會比自然環境美麗？

After bathing in the lights of the city, we headed to the outlying islands of Hong Kong. This is just one of them. This is Lantau Island! In the sweltering humidity we stood in awe of the Big Buddha which is the largest sitting Buddha in the world (as if we didn't already feel small and humbled) but what really took our breath away wasn't (surprisingly) our lack of exercise after climbing all those steps to the top, it was surrounding area. The mountains, the endless sea, it was unlike anything we've ever seen before and we understood in that moment why so many people love it here and never leave. Check out the city and shop until you drop, but the real gem is getting lost on those trails!

Skyrail Cable Car or Ngong Ping Cable Car is a visually spectacular 5.7 kilometer long bi-cable ropeway between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping in north Lantau Island, Hong Kong. We took the cable car for our return journey from Lantau Island to Hong Kong. It was a descent from Ngong Ping plateau to the sea-level and the journey took 25 minutes. The views were truly spectacular. We passed through hills and valleys, saw the Tian Tan Buddha Statue at a distance, then saw the busy Hong Kong International airport with planes taking off and landing. Then we rode over the Tung Chung Bay with the Hong Kong skyscrapers visible below us and the South China Sea visible at a distance. The views towards the end of our journey were absolutely breathtaking. I would strongly recommend this cable car trip or gondola ride to anybody visiting Hong Kong S.A.R. Make sure you watch the entire video to enjoy all the views.
CORRECTION: In the video, I have incorrectly identified the airport we were passing by as "Pudong International Airport". It is actually Hong Kong International Airport. Sorry about that. "Pudong" airport is in Shanghai, China.

Lantau Island (also Lantao Island; Chinese: 大嶼山), based on the old local name of Lantau Peak (simplified Chinese: 烂头; traditional Chinese: 爛頭; pinyin: Làntóu; lit. Ragged Head), is the largest island in Hong Kong, located at the mouth of the Pearl River. Administratively, most of Lantau Island is part of the Islands District of Hong Kong. A small northeastern portion of the island is located in the Tsuen Wan District.
Originally the site of fishing villages, the island has been developed in recent years with the construction of Tung Chung New Town on its north-western coast and the completion of several major infrastructure projects, including Lantau Link (1997), Hong Kong International Airport (1998), Hong Kong Disneyland (2005) and Ngong Ping 360 (2006).
With a land mass of 147.16 square kilometres (56.82 sq mi), it is the largest island in Hong Kong, almost twice the size of Hong Kong Island.
Lantau Island primarily consists of mountainous terrain. Lantau Peak (934 m) is the highest point of the island. It is the second highest in Hong Kong, after Tai Mo Shan, and is almost twice the height of Victoria Peak. Other mountains include Sunset Peak (869 m), Lin Fa Shan (766 m), Nei Lak Shan (751 m) and Yi Tung Shan (747 m).

Breathtaking Views from Skyrail Cable Car, Lantau Island, Hong Kong (DON'T MISS THE ENDING)
Skyrail Cable Car or Ngong Ping Cable Car is a visually spectacular 5.7 kilometer long bi-cable ropeway between Tung Chung and Ngong Ping in north Lantau Island, Hong Kong. We took the cable car for our return journey from Lantau Island to Hong Kong. It was a descent from Ngong Ping plateau to the sea-level and the journey took 25 minutes. The views were truly spectacular. We passed through hills and valleys, saw the Tian Tan Buddha Statue at a distance, then saw the busy Hong Kong International airport with planes taking off and landing. Then we rode over the Tung Chung Bay with the Hong Kong skyscrapers visible below us and the South China Sea visible at a distance. After bathing in the lights of the city, we headed to the outlying islands of Hong Kong. This is just one of them. This is Lantau Island! In the sweltering humidity we stood in awe of the Big Buddha which is the largest sitting Buddha in the world (as if we didn't already feel small and humbled) but what really took our breath away wasn't (surprisingly) our lack of exercise after climbing all those steps to the top, it was surrounding area. The mountains, the endless sea, it was unlike anything we've ever seen before and we understood in that moment why so many people love it here and never leave. Check out the city and shop until you drop, but the real gem is getting lost on those trails!

CORRECTION: In the video, I have incorrectly identified the airport we were passing by as "Pudong International Airport". It is actually Hong Kong International Airport. Sorry about that. "Pudong" airport is in Shanghai, China.

Tai O 大澳 Fishing Village of Hong Kong Lantau Island [ Street Food ]
Tai O is a fishing village in Hong Kong located in the western region of Lantau Island. You can find lots of street food, dry seafood and desert here. A nice walk around at the fishing village you get to see lots of older fishing boats & Stilt houses (pang uk). Tai O once was famous for their Salt Industry.
