Jeff's dream since we were little kids growing up in New Jersey was to open and host a New York (Football not baseball) Giants Museum. Jeff never got married and never had children, he invested his life's time, energy, and attention in an effort to experience as many NY Giant Football Games and events as possible and to acquire any and all suitable NY Giant Memorabilia to display in his Museum. Jeff collected NY Giant memorabilia from the time we were children in early 1960's until the time he passed in 2010. During Jeff's nearly 50 years of collecting he acquired and preserved over seven thousand items (not including perhaps the world's largest collection of NY Giant Football cards and Pins). Perhaps someday, these 7000 plus NY Giant Treasures will be available to any NY Giant Fan to see and experience in person at the New York Football Giants Museum, although until such time, this collection of videos is in honor of and is Jeff's virtual and on line NY Giants Museum. Our goal is to open a (real not virtual) NY Giants Museum and display all these items. We will not break up this collection ...

On May 4, 2006, The Real Change News published an interview with Artis the Spoonman by Ken Strong entitled, "Spoon-taneity The Spoonman Speaketh" This is the first part of a video interview series with Artis in his new flat over looking the Port Townsend Bay that will be using the 2002 story as a loose script. "He's a familiar figure to many in Seattle, especially those who frequent the Pike Place Market: the muscular, middle-aged man with the mohawk, standing on the sidewalk, usually accompanying singer/songwriter/guitarist Jim Page, with his huge array of spoons of different shapes and sizes and materials spread out on a blanket, furiously playing against his face and body, eyes closed, lost in the performance. 5:10-6:08 Galdhøpiggen 2469m/8100ft /Jotunheimen (highest mountain peak in Northern Europe)
This is my debut timelapse video, and the making of this film has been a real challenge. Living in Oslo (250-500 km away from the scenery portrayed in this film), I had to make 11 trips over a period of 15 months to fullfill this project. I had to visit and revisit locations which were not easily reached considering the the heavy photo gear I was carrying.
When I look back on this project, the most exhausting and dramatic challenge was to climb Galdhøpiggen 2469m/8100ft (5:10-6:08). I had to visit this mountain twice while I was shooting this movie, as my first attempt back in july 2010 was ruined by strong winds. In 2011, a second attempt was made, and this time I got lucky. As I witnessed a beautiful sunset on the roof of Norway and Northern Europe, I knew I was pushing the boundaries and it would be a race against darkness and dropping temperatures to the valley 1400 meters/4600 ft below. My concern was right. At this alltitude, the temperature drops rapidly when the sun sets, and the snow fields in the rather steep terrain just below the summit (which were safe during the daylight) had now turned into treacherous ice. Although I was aware that the temperature had plummeted, I didn´t know that the snow fields had turned into ice so rapidly. As a result of my carelessness and stupidity, I fell uncontrolled down the steep slope and got some deep cuts in my left hand. After all, I had lucky escape- as I stopped before I was severly hit by the rocks in the end of the slope.
As the darkness fell, I ran into another problem.Even with a powerful headlamp, I couldn't find the cairns which would lead me down to the valley. After a while I was way out of track and heading straight into steep terrain, so I had no other option than to abort the descent and spend the night in this high alpine area. Nedless to say, the night was very cold, and I had to endure frostbite for many hours. Finally, after 17 hours in this high alpine area, I returned to safety.
Special thanks to
Tore Johnsen who spent many hours to create and synchronize his beautiful music into this film and my parents for the support. Also, a HUGH thanks to all the timelapse enthusiasts on http://forum.timescapes.org/phpBB3 for sharing there valuable knowledge.

"No Generation" Birdie Jo Live at Sam Bond's Garage
“No Generation” Birdie Jo- from the album “Transient Knows The System”
You don’t listen to a word I say
And when you do, you don’t get it anyway
We’ve got No Generation- To be like you!
We’ve got No Motivation- To be like
Your video eye watching me in your store-
So I just rip you off so I can even up the score
We’ve got No Motivation- To be like you!
We’ve got No Generation- To be like you!
You want to pass a law to legalize discrimination
The ignorance you force on me denies all my relations!
We’ve got No Motivation- To be like you!
We’ve got No Generation- To be like you!
=================================
This is a video from this year’s Birdie Jo reunion show at Sam Bond’s Garage, shot by Laura Strobel and Jill Catino on my iPhone. We opened for Petunia and the Vipers, and Mood Area 52, who was throwing an album release party for their new album “1952 Philanski House.” Every year I go back to Eugene for Thanksgiving, we have a big crazy feast at Michael and Leah’s, and Birdie Jo plays a show. It is always a high point of my year. My folks come down from Portland, sometimes my brother will fly in, I haven’t missed a Thanksgiving in Eugene since I moved to L.A.
Birdie Jo started out as a band in a movie. Our friend Laura wanted to shoot a short with Scott K., myself, and my neighbor, Ty Connor, as troubled band-mates. Scott and I stayed up all night and wrote “First Among Equals” in this freezing theater/garage loft I was living in at the time, for Laura’s video.
(Scott K. had a skate-punk band when we were in high school called Dogwater that kicked ass, I had auditioned to sing for them at one point. I played a song for them that I wrote called “Festival,” that sounded a lot like “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus. They passed. Not punk enough. “Festival” became the first song for The Good Madmen, my first post-high school band.)
We shot a bunch of stuff with Laura, silly scenes of rehearsals, band fights and getting kicked out of John Henry’s (the OLD John Henry’s.) Scott K. and I wanted to keep rehearsing and writing new songs, Ty wasn’t that into it, he was writing and listening to Miles Davis on vinyl and didn’t really want to be in a band.
I had been working with Michael at the Glenwood Café, a 24-hour joint on Campus that was Christian-owned, but forgiving enough to have two white boys with dreadlocks running the floor. We would have late-night neighborhood talent shows in Michael’s apartment on a stage that consisted of a palette in the middle of a doorway.
I basically forced Michael to be the new drummer for Birdie Jo. He didn’t have a drum set, he just pieced together some suitcases and pots and pans and that’s how we started. I wanted to have a band consisting of people I admired and wanted to hang out with, I figured the music would come from there.
A super-hot blonde girl moved in next door to Michael. We had been staying up all night, riding our bikes through Eugene, going for midnight swims in the river, stealing ears of corn from the canning plant and throwing them like newspapers onto people porches. We drank Mickey’s Big Mouth’s and made a walkway in the backyard of the used screwtops. I told him if he didn’t make that girl next door his girlfriend, I would. Her name was Leah, he’s married to her to this day.
I had this vintage 1939 Epiphone F-hole archtop hollowbody that would serve as the Birdie Jo guitar, an unlikely axe for a punk-rock band. Scott K. could make that thing sing, we played over 200 shows on that antique. He played with a wiry, rough intensity, I plodded along aggressively on bass, with Michael flailing wildly on his pots and pans. We attracted a strong local following with our lo-fi brand of edgy punk, becoming the house band at John Henry’s, opening for some great touring acts, The Dickies, Zeke, Turbonegro, Heatmiser, The Stinky Puffs, The Voluptuous Horror of Karen Black, to name just a few. We usually played for free beer, and often left the bar feeling extremely well-paid on the rich array of strong, local microbrew beers that had become popular.
Scott K. had just had a baby with his wife Tracy, I was there the day little Ruthie was born. For all his hedonistic glory, Scott was a really responsible dad, driving trucks for Organically Grown Co-op, waking up at 4am 5 days a week. While we played a ton of local shows, Scott’s priority was his family, Michael was finishing college, and with the exception of one wild roadtrip Scott and I took through Mexico and Central America, we would never tour extensively.
We produced one album, “Transient Knows The System,” which featured a picture of the real Birdie Jo on the cover. Birdie Jo Hoaks was a woman who was arrested on Christmas Eve of 1995 in Salt Lake City for impersonating a young boy in order to obtain social services. She was homeless, and had sought entry into a woman’s shelter, but was turned away because

uslu airlines inflight video 6.0.1 "beauty makeup supersonic"
It took twice as long, three times the effort and manifold everybody’s help to top our previous inflight videos. As some might know, those have been celebrated as the ‘art version’ of Baumarkt infomercials by critics, galleries, retailers and the global media since 2003.
In fact, we kept it simple, stuck with the concept and did not change too much. Just like your grandma’s all familiar goulash served by approned articulate wait staff. Kind of. But see for yourself:
Watch what Berlin ladies build with uslu airlines beauty airbrush makeup. They stencil, they spray, they smile. All rounded up with sheer lipstick colours and lipgloss too. Luciuos lashes with mascara and various nail polish combinations for final perfection. Always easy, always fun.

uslu airlines started with inflight cosmetic beauty video 1.0 in 2002. Very basic, with a VHS-C and many friends in our boys bedroom in New York's East Village. In between came Paris and Berlin (2x), still with many friends. The production of 6.0 remains in Germany's capital, at the uslu airlines tower in Mitte and obviously still friends are the main ingredient. They show again how easy it is, to look natural or colorful with our air brush make-up. One of them Ken-Tonio Yamamoto who turned us HD.

GAZA STRIP
In early 2001 I spent three months in Gaza filming material for this documentary, GAZA STRIP, working with local fixer and translator, Mohammed Mohanna. The second Palestinian uprising against Israeli military occupation had begun in September, 2000, and there had already been large numbers of deaths in Gaza when I started this project.
Though the period this documentary covers includes the election of Ariel Sharon as Israeli Prime Minister and large incursions by the Israeli Defense Forces into Gaza, in retrospect the time depicted here is one of relative quiet. More recent Israeli attacks against Gaza have been far more destructive and deadly than what falls into the scope of this film.
The time since the release of this film in 2002 has seen many changes, including the evacuation of illegal Israeli settlements inside the Gaza Strip and the election of Hamas. However, the occupation and attacks against Gaza continue, and the blockade of Gaza has intensified. It is my hope that this film will provide a partial introduction to Gaza for those who have come to the subject recently, and also serve as a document of its time.
I am making this film available completely free, however those who wish to contribute to my future filmmaking efforts may do so via PayPal or mail on my website:

What the Critics Said:
..........................
"The absence of voice-over narration and talking-head interviews gives his portrait of daily life under duress a riveting immediacy ... in the best verite tradition, there are moments in ''Gaza Strip'' that disclose a wrenching human reality deeper and more basic than any politics."
-- A. O. Scott, The New York Times
"This is simple, but strong, journalism, the kind that tells a distressing story. It is educational reportage, the kind you wish there would be more of on television."
-- Claude Salhani, United Press International
"A documentary to make the stones weep."
-- J. Hoberman, The Village Voice
"A chilling docu showing everyday life in the Gaza Strip ... a must-see for TVs interested in informing the public."
-- Deborah Young, Variety
"As a perspective that is largely excluded from American attention, it deserves the widest possible audience."
-- Jane Adas, The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs
"Longley constructs, through the eloquent editing of sound and vision, a riveting particularity so vivid that it transcends its physical borders to illuminate "everyday" life in divided cities, territories, and countries across the globe. "
-- Lesley Smith, Pop Matters
"... offering sequences that could rival Bunuel or Fellini ... one of the most important documentaries of recent times."
-- Phil Hall, Film Threat (www.filmthreat.com)
"Taking a step away from the back and forth over who has a right to be where that is at the heart of the ongoing Palestinian-Israeli conflict, this important documentary from American filmmaker James Longley looks closely at the toll it has taken on people who are among those most affected by the violence: Palestinian children."
-- Ken Fox, TV Guide : MovieGuide (www.tvguide.com)
"In Gaza Strip the camera never blinks ... at once grim, eloquent and searing, a film with a riveting particularity all its own."
-- Fawaz Turki, Arab News (www.arabnews.com)
"This documentary is vastly revealing ... and it's bigger than a summer blockbuster, more important than all our movie stars or the academy awards ..."
-- StaticMultimedia.com
"Longley has presented convincing evidence that the Israeli occupation has created criminal and dehumanizing conditions for the people of the Gaza Strip. One would hope that this documentary would be broadcast on American television to reach the largest possible audience."
-- Pamela Nice, AlJadid -- vol. 8, No. 39, Spring 2002
"Beautiful, heartbreaking, raw and revealing ..."
-- Stephanie Saldana, The Daily Star

=BELIEVER= I'm a believer Not just a dreamer Do you think I'm strong? Do you think I'm wrong? I'm a believer Not just a dreamer Do you think I'm strong? Do you think I'm wrong? Look deep inside of me, Do you see what I see? Now I know my philosophy, I believe I must be me But this is not the time like it was in '69 You cannot run away to find love It's not out there, It's right inside your heart The more I live, The more I dream No way you can change my mind So don't you try to fight it Take my hand and you will see it too I'm a believer Not just a dreamer Do you think I'm strong? Do you think I'm wrong? You can have anything you can dream, Anything But do you know just what you want? Then you can be confident They don't come walkin' in, Give and get, Everything Why don't we change the world just like we want? If we believe, It's not too late to start The more I live, The more I dream No way you can change my mind So don't you try to fight it Take my hand and you will see it too
