Abu Bakr (Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa) (Arabic: عبد الله بن أبي قحافة, Transliteration: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Quḥāfah, c. 573 CE - 634 CE) also known as Abū Bakr as-Șiddīq (Arabic: أبو بكر الصديق) was a senior companion (Sahabi) and the father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He ruled over the Rashidun Caliphate from 632–634 CE when he became the first Muslim Caliph following Muhammad's death. As Caliph, Abu Bakr succeeded to the political and administrative functions previously exercised by Muhammad, since the religious function and authority of prophethood ended with Muhammad's death according to Islam. He was called Al-Siddiq (The Truthful) and was known by that title among later generations of Muslims.
As a young man, Abu Bakr became a cloth merchant and he traveled extensively in Arabia and neighboring lands in the Middle East, through which he gained both wealth and experience. He eventually came to be recognized as the chief of his clan. On his return from a business trip to Yemen, he was informed that in his absence Muhammad had openly declared his prophethood. Not long after, Abu Bakr accepted Islam and was the first person outside the family of Muhammad to openly become a Muslim. He was instrumental in the conversion of many people to the Islamic faith and early in 623, Abu Bakr's daughter Aisha was married to Muhammad, strengthening the ties between the two men.
Those blasted clocks have all run down
Oh, does time stand still without you around
The birds don't sing their little song
The prophecies have all proved wrong
The Persian rugs have gone thread-bare
The waxy moon has lost its flair
The wishes drown beneath the well
The razor blades have all gone dull
But this is confidential, you're the one to blame
And now the forecast calls perpetually for rain
And although it's rather late, I lie awake in vain
'Cause I'm still waiting for what's wonderful
It's quite an elaborate scheme
The fine art of poisoning
The dose to comatose
Slightly administered
Not for the frail of heart
The vengeful must play their part
A friend to the bitter end
Or so they say
Nice and slow
Misfortune will flow
Periling the nursery
It seems a tainted pastry
One bite, what a dreadful fright
She was such a delicate little dish
A pleasant parlor gathering
Quicksilver concealed in a ruby ring
Two lumps or three?
I have always adored bergamot tea.
Nice and slow
Misfortune will flow
I like the way you make me shiver
Silver smoke, my lips are quivering
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you shake the shutters
So pristine, my teeth are chattering
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you leave me cold
The sky's gone out
There's no reason
Hollow dark in this
Mausoleum
Underneath you I
Shiver like a stone
I like the way you trick the tremble
Porcelain and frozen heavenly
I like the way you leave me cold
And I'm petrified
I like the way you make me shiver
Silver smoke, my lips are quivering
I like the way you leave me cold
I like you shake the shutter
Tickled blue, my flesh turns to ice cream
I like the way you leave me cold
The sky's gone out
There's no reason
Hollow dark in this
Mausoleum
Underneath you
Chill me to the bone
I like the way you trick the tremble
Porcelain and frozen heavenly
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you leave me cold
I like the way you leave me cold
I lock the door and I check it twice
Before I climb the stairs
I see you lurking down below
Underneath the streetlight's glare
Your footsteps approaching
A shadow cloaks the room
I revel in this nightmare
But I keep waking up too soon...
'Cause over and over again
I keep imagining
And over and over again
I fear it's true
Over and over again
Am I still haunted
Haunted by the thought of you
Your dark eyes peering
Through the wallpaper's design
You live in all the constellations
Or have I lost my mind
In the bottom of a bottle
Reflected in a spoon
I feel you right behing me
But did I just turn around to soon...
Do you believe in Destiny?
We'll meet again, my dear, on Doomsday
Pigs will be flying through the sky
On the 12th of Never, at a quarter past Forever
Stricken with the Rapture, we'll watch the world's demise
We'll meet again, my dear, on Doomsday
A hint of Armageddon fills the air
Now that Hell has frozen over and the sun is growing colder
We'll be drawing close cause there's no more time to spare
We'll meet again, my dear, on Doomsday
A shower full of frogs and toads
But as bleak as it may be, Apocalyptic revelry
Hand in hand, we'll tiptoe through the carcasses and bones
The air's too thin to breathe on Doomsday
At last we face The Reckoning
And blood will fill the sea
Cobwebs will cover you and me
As flames engulf the remnants
Of this grand catastrophe
It's Doomsday
Dear old Mattie Burton
She was always so uncertain
The moment that would end her life
Came with her husband's hunting knife
The precocious Phineas Ray
Never felt the need to pray
Knelt with a bullet to his head
Had a note pinned to the bed
That read...
I want to believe in something
I'm still searching for the truth
I want to believe in something
I've finally found the proof
Agoraphobic Walter Strauss
Never ever left the house
Looking for salvation there
He threw himself down the cellar stair
Little Anna would not eat
A skeleton from head to feet
Afflicted with society's ills
Sometimes it is only the mirror that kills
It hangs there still...
I want to believe in something
I'm still searching for the truth
I want to believe in something
I've finally found the proof
They thought Reginald was fine
Despite the voices inside his mind
He silenced them with the roar that came
As he locked eyes with the northbound train
Far beneath the angry sea
Edward saw tranquility
Sweetly smothered by the waves
He submerged to his watery grave
Where he remains...
I want to believe in something
I'm still searching for the truth
I want to believe in something
Slave to good intention.
Mastermind the great.
A victim to the culprit,
Of finding out too late.
So I linger in the hallway.
One story down below.
Longing for a 45 revolver
And a 62 bordeaux.
But you're the only one who can please me.
You're the only one.
I hear the creaks in the floorboards.
A firmament above.
I can chart the course of your star.
Like a dirty hand in glove.
And I'm lurking in the holes.
Creeping cross the corners.
Cuddle up so soft and safe.
Close your eyes and calculate.
One to nullify the pain.
Two to make it real again.
Three please give me one to grow on.
Four my recompense.
Five don't leave me in suspense.
Six promise not to peak.
Oh my dear, you runneth over,
With your cup of convoluted wares.
The aftermath is sinking lower.
The perfect pales beyond compare.
Your garden's rushing to my head now.
Your guise will leave no stone unturned.
I'm paralyzed by your concoction.
Your sleight of hand keeps all my fingers burned.
I've searched the holy books and I've dogeared every page.
I've stolen secrets from the sorcerer's own sage.
Although a connoisseur of fine legerdemain.
I've just one word for you.
Extraordinary.
You're open to interpretation.
Like the trap door underneath your tousled throne.
And I'm engaged and I'm enraged and I'm enchanted.
With this little bit of magic I've been shown.
I've searched the holy books and I've dogeared every page.
I've stolen secrets from the sorcerer's own sage.
Although a connoisseur of fine legerdemain.
I've just one word for you.
Extraordinary.
I've searched the holy books and I've dogeared every page.
I've stolen secrets from the sorcerer's own sage.
I'm rendered speechless in my pretty little rage.
But I'll save one word for you.
Baby, watch my blood boil
To an opalescent blue
Better draw the curtain,
They're trying to catch
A glimpse of you
Slowly watch the fruit die,
Still clinging to the vine
Redemption from a bottle
That stays empty all the time
But, my dear, it's worth the pain
When they're pulling your insides out
Baby, know your nemesis
He's posing as your best friend
Don't believe the newspapers,
They're telling lies again
The cold hand of the healers
Slices your soul in two
They roll out the red carpet
Just to pull it out
From under you
But, my dear, it's worth the pain
When they're pulling your insides out
Pulling your insides out
Baby, mind the vultures,
They're circling 'round above
Feeding from the idols,
They think they can
Draw blood from a stone
The more the diamond glitters,
The more it can deceive
The truth lay in the treasure
Of what we disbelieve
But, my dear, it's worth the pain
When they're pulling your insides out
Pulling your insides out
i'll hold your hand while they drag the river
i'll cuddle you in the undertow
i'll keep my hand on your trigger finger
i'll take you down where the train tracks go
let's wile away the hours
let's spend an evil night together
we'll drink a toast in the torture chamber
and you'll go down on a bed of nails
we'll rendevous in cold blood
i'll tie you up to the third rail
let's wile away the hours
let's spend an evil night together
who's gonna make you a hero
who's gonna blow you away
who's gonna make you a hero
hold it right there
it's a multiple down in solitary
and you'll uncover the evidence
shanghaied by a fishnet stocking
i'll hold you close while they dust for prints
let's wile away the hours
let's spend an evil night together
no need for cake or flowers
When your door closed itself shut
And the howling begins, a boy dries for his mother
But she's already dead
One problem they're still here
And now stare outside my window in fear.
And everyone is drowning out.
Don't fear this haunting.
Gone now, the hours passed it's safe to open your eyes,
When everybody loved, and everybody makes it on their own
Now I sit inside and wonder how much I can take,
Being trapped in my house,
One problem, they're now dead
And I hide under my sheet as a prisoner.
Gone now the hours passed it's safe to open your eyes,
When everybody loved, and everybody makes it on their own
Have they left me in this tomb alone to wipe away my tears
Change, that? s what you said to me
that? s the excuse you used to leave
but truth be told I never wanted you around,
now I sit here with and empty pack of smokes,
intoxicate my lung trying to calm me down,
it does not seem to work anymore,
it seems to hit me harder than I thought because of?
What she said, What she said
Chance that? what I? ve got to take,
try not to blink as I drive down this road,
and I start to brake.
My mind is slipping away to a beautiful place
as glass shatters my face
What she said, what she said
In all my dreams, tonight
I bid you fond farewell.
Goodbye friend, your time is spent
Lying here awake my heart never seems to rest.
Your lies said enough again,
You're wasted on your own alone
Don't bother answering the phone.
You gave away your style and grace,
I can't bare to see your face.
With my eyes closed tight put your knife to me,
Blood's been spilled this night,
Rest assure I'll scream
Goodbye friend, your time is spent
Lying here awake my heart never seems to rest.
Your lies said enough again,
You're wasted on your own alone
I woke up at 4 PM, and I stayed in bed till 8
I got up to call my dentist, but it was too late
I had to make an appointment,
But who needs teeth when you don't smile anyways?
They'll just rot away
I sleep most of the day so I don't see the sunlight
I learned all of my skills in the middle of the night
But I woke up early in the morning
I saw the sun exploding in the sky
I thought, "Why, oh why was I spared when my best friend died?"
So stay in bed and keep your head close to the door
Don't say a word
'Cause if you do, they'll be after you
Like they were with me
When I was a kid, I always said I'd be a king
Of my own country, and I'd let you all in
Now that I'm older and I'm wiser, I realize that I'd be counting sins
So you can't come in
Don't point me towards the mirror, 'cause I don't like what I see
It's so easy to be lonely when you've got a face like me
And is it wrong to see a doctor every time I think I've got a new disease
Once or twice a week?
Maybe they'll name one after me
So stay in bed and keep your head close to the door
Don't say a word
'Cause if you do, they'll be after you
Like they were with me
So stay in bed and keep your head close to the door
Don't say a word
'Cause if you do, they'll be after you
Like they were with me
So stay in bed and keep your head close to the door
Don't say a word
'Cause if you do, they'll be after you
Like they were with me
So stay in bed, these kids made a mess
They made high school a miserable wreck
The blood on your shoes, it came from you
And there's nothing you can do
This is where my story begins
No one knows where it ends
The world's devastated by Sin
Journey on to Zanarkand
I'm your guardian 'til the end
That means wherever you go I will follow
When we get through this mess
We will get out once more
Over the Moon flow
This is where my story begins
No one knows where it ends
The world's devastated by Sin
Journey on to Zanarkand
This is our last chance
This is our last chance
We'll never forget
This is our last chance
This is our last chance
We'll never forget
There has to be another way
This isn't worth the cost
But you can't stop
This sent our fathers to the grave
This has gone far enough
I won't give up
This is our last chance
This is our last chance
We'll never forget
This is our last chance
This is our last chance
We'll never forget
This is our last chance
This is our last chance
We'll never forget
We'll never forget
We'll never forget
We'll never forget
I'm your guardian
I'm your guardian 'til the end
I'm your guardian 'til the end
'Til the end
This is where my story began
This is where it ends
Now that the world is free from Sin
Invisible, but you can see it
I want to show you, let me show you
In your car, in my room
Wherever we go, we bring our tune
This song was made for us, somehow it'll never be enough
I hope you get chills at the beginning of the end
Like I do, like I do
I won't tell you when
'Cause you'll know exactly when it comes
If you just listen from the start to the end
I know you will, good friend
Turn the volume out the standard space
Let me show you what I love
Listen to all the parts together
This song makes me feel better
So much better
Intangible, but you can reach out your arms and hold it
Let me show you it's rock, it's rock solid
I know this song is not perfect
That's part of the reason
I know this song couldn't be a hit
That's why I love it
I hope you get chills at the beginning of the end
Like I do, like I do
I won't tell you when
'Cause you'll know exactly when it comes
If you just listen from the start to the end
I know you will, good friend
Turn the volume out the standard space
Let me show you what I love
Listen to all the parts together
This song makes me feel better
So much better
Let me know just what you're thinking
Is it purpose that we're feeling?
And when it's over, show me your favorite song
In your car, in my room
Wherever we go, we bring our tunes
In your car, in my room
Wherever we go, we bring our tunes
This song was made for us, somehow it'll never be enough
This song was made for us, somehow it'll never be enough
You don't have to hide
You don't need to be scared
I know you're somewhere close tonight
I can feel you in the air
I swear it's safe where I go
So when you see me, you should follow me forever
Remember the night we met?
You kissed me on the cheek and I held your hand
But time was against us
Hurry up, let's spark this harder life
You said to me:
"Do you know who I am?"
"Of course I know who you are."
"How can you be so sure?"
"It's easy, believe me, I know.
I just know it, I know it, I know.
Music's told me all I need is you."
Forget everything you learned
I'll lead you to safety, just follow me forever
"Why did you come for me?"
"Not now, get up and run, here comes the enemy."
My news ears are timeless, they taught me how to stand and fight!
So come with me!"
"Do you know who I am?"
"Of course I know who you are."
"How can you be so sure?"
"It's easy, believe me, I know."
We'll be together in time
But time was always against us
"Do you know who I am?"
"Of course I know who you are."
"How can you be so sure?"
"It's easy, believe me, I know."
Remember back when we were kids
Don't say a word, 'cause if you do they'll be after you
Picture a world where no child is left behind
Invisible but you can see it
Take the stairs and turn around
Down, down, down
Waiting for days and days, in leave I stayed, it's like
This is where my story began, this is where it ends
Take to the sky, take to the streets
You've got mine and I've got your back
My heart is yours but time was always against us
My heart is yours but time was always against us
My heart is yours but time was always against us
My heart is yours but time was always against us
My heart is yours but time was always against
My heart is yours
My heart is yours but time was always
Tell me that this isn't goodbye
Just holding you in my arms
There's too many reasons why
You must be the only one that I need
But can't keep you anymore
I wish that I could tell you
When you lay in the sheets of your new bed
At your new apartment with your new address
That I have never stopped missing you
That I have never stopped missing you
To your room you're dragging, to your new life
When you're on your way and you're almost there
Call me up, if just to tell me
"How's the weather down there?"
When you lay in the sheets of your new bed
At your new apartment with your new address
Know that I have never stopped missing you
Know that I have never stopped missing you
Know that I have never stopped
She adored me and cast me away
Fix me and teach me to change
Waiting for days and days, in leave I stayed
It's like I will fall off of the end of here
And it kills me that I can't tell you
Oh, I wish that I could tell you
When you lay in the sheets of your new bed
At your new apartment with your new address
That I have never stopped missing you
That I have never stopped missing you
Got a dollar in my wallet, gonna buy a gift for you
Something shiny and new
But you don't have time to see me, so I spent it on a case of pop
I'll be drinking till my teeth fall out
Where do you go, where do you go when the sun goes down?
Down
Got a nickel in my pocket, what is a boy to do?
Your birthday's coming in June
So I'll pick the neighbor's flowers, or buy you a plastic ring
And ask you to marry me
Where do you go, where do you go when the sun goes down?
Where do you go, where do you go when the sun goes down?
Down, down, down
The loneliest room in this house
Take the stairs and turn around
The loneliest room in this house
Take the stairs and turn around
The loneliest room in this house
Take the stairs and turn around
Turn around, just turn around
I've got a million dollars
I'll buy her a trip to the moon
