The EPIC uses an I4 engine which is powered by an emission-free powertrain. The powertrain features nickel iron batteries that can give up to 120 miles (193km) on only one charge. The EPIC uses a four-gear automatic transmission. The design was at the time more futuristic. Unlike any other minivan, the EPIC had the modern oval-shaped body, this style was inspiration for the design of the third generation of the Chrysler Minivans. This vehicle was also one of the first signs of the hybrid vehicles.
