got its name and when it was formed. The township was one of the original townships, named in honor of John Wilkes and Isaac Barré, two British Parliament members who supported colonial America and fought for our freedom while they served in the British Parliament ... and Buck Twp ... for $12,000 ... The ground area involved in the mine fire is still unusable.
