Judy Tegart Dalton (born 12 December 1937) is a retired professional Australian tennis player who won nine Grand Slam doubles titles. She won at least one women's doubles title at each Grand Slam tournament, a "Career Grand Slam". Five of her doubles titles were in partnership with Margaret Court. Dalton was the runner-up in ten Grand Slam doubles tournaments.

Dalton reached the final at Wimbledon in 1968, where she lost to Billie Jean King 9–7, 7–5 after defeating Court in a quarterfinal and Nancy Richey Gunter in a semifinal. She also reached the singles semifinals at Wimbledon in 1971 at the age of 33, losing to Court in three sets, and at the Australian Championships in 1968, losing to King in three sets. Her final Grand Slam tournament was the 1977 Australian Open, where at the age of 40 she lost to top-seeded and eventual champion Evonne Goolagong Cawley in a quarterfinal 6–3, 6–1.

Dalton was unusual in that she did not reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam singles tournament outside of Australia until she was 29 years of age. From Wimbledon in 1967 until the end of her career, she reached at least the quarterfinals in half of the Grand Slam singles tournaments she played (ten out of twenty).

Nancy Richey (born August 23, 1942 in San Angelo, Texas, United States) is a former tennis player from the United States.

Richey won two Grand Slam singles titles (1967 Australian Championships and 1968 French Open) and four Grand Slam women's doubles titles (1965 U.S. Championships and 1966 Australian, Wimbledon, and U.S. Championships). She was ranked World No. 2 in singles at year-end in 1969. Richey won 69 singles titles during her career and helped the U.S. win the Federation Cup in 1969. She won the singles title at the U.S. Women's Clay Court Championships a record six consecutive years, from 1963 through 1968.

Richey was married to Kenneth Gunter from 1970 to 1976, reverting to her maiden name following her divorce. She is the sister of fellow player Cliff Richey.

She was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2003.

Billie Jean King (née Moffitt; born November 22, 1943) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. She won 12 Grand Slam singles titles, 16 Grand Slam women's doubles titles, and 11 Grand Slam mixed doubles titles. King has been an advocate against sexism in sports and society. She won "The Battle of the Sexes" in 1973, in which she defeated Bobby Riggs, a former Wimbledon men's singles champion, for $100,000, winner take all. She completed a career tour all surfaces win-loss performance of 81.76% (696-165). Her win-loss performance in all Grand Slam singles tournaments was 82.00% (190-39), at the French Open 77.77% (21-6), at Wimbledon 86.36% (95-15), at the US Open 80.55% (58–14), and at the Australian Open 80.00% (16-4).

King is the founder of the Women's Tennis Association, the Women's Sports Foundation, and owner of World Team Tennis, which was founded by her former husband, Larry King, Dennis Murphy, Frank Barman, and Jordan Kaiser.

Billie Jean Moffit was born in Long Beach, California, into a conservative Methodist family, the daughter of a fireman father and housewife mother. Her younger brother Randy Moffitt grew up to become a professional baseball player, pitching for 12 years in the major leagues for the San Francisco Giants, Houston Astros, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Jean King (born December 6, 1925) was the sixth Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii from 1978 to 1982 in the administration of Governor George Ariyoshi.

Before becoming Lieutenant Governor King had served in the Hawaii House of Representatives from 1972 to 1974 and the Hawaii Senate from 1974 to 1978. In 1982 King was defeated in the Democratic primary election for Governor and retired from politics.

Margaret Court AO MBE (born 16 July 1942), also known as Margaret Smith Court, is an Australian tennis player and Christian minister. Best known for her sporting career, at one point she was ranked as the world's top tennis player.

In 1970, she became the first woman during the open era and the second woman in history to win the singles Grand Slam (all four majors in the same calendar year). Court won a record 24 of those titles during her career. She also won 19 women's doubles and 19 mixed doubles titles, giving her a record 62 Major titles overall. She is the only woman to win the mixed doubles Grand Slam, and she did it twice. Her all surfaces (hard, clay, grass and carpet) career match winning percentage of 91.74 (1177/106) is an all-time record.Her win-loss performance in all Grand Slam singles tournaments was 90.12% (210–23), at the French Open 90.38% (47–5), at Wimbledon 85.10% (51–9), at the US Open 89.47% (51–6), and at the Australian Open 95.31% (61–3). She also shares the Open Era record for most Grand Slam singles titles as a mother with Kim Clijsters. The International Tennis Hall of Fame states, "For sheer strength of performance and accomplishment there has never been a tennis player to match (her)". She is regarded by some to be the greatest female tennis player of all time.
