Dengue : Dicas para combater o mosquito
A Dengue é uma doença infecciosa que pode ser causada por 4 tipos de vírus. Ela acomete cerca de 100 milhões de pessoas por ano, com uma taxa de mortalidade de 10% para pacientes hospitalizados. No Brasil, a região Sudeste é a mais atingida.
Ela é transmitida pela picada do mosquito fêmea Aedes Aegypti ou Aedes Albopictus. Essas espécies picam durante o dia ou noite e suas larvas se proliferam em água parada, limpa ou suja. Por isso, a melhor forma de se evitar a Dengue é combater o mosquito, eliminando os focos de acúmulo de água.
Sintomas
Geralmente os sintomas se manifestam a partir do 3° dia depois da picada do mosquito e incluem febre alta, forte dor de cabeça, dor atrás dos olhos, perda de apetite, manchas avermelhadas pelo corpo, enjôo, vômitos, tonturas, cansaço extremo, dores intensas nos ossos e articulações.
Alguns pacientes podem evoluir para a forma grave da doença, a Dengue hemorrágica. Seus sintomas são sangramento pelo nariz, boca e gengivas, dor abdominal forte e contínua, choque, vômitos persistentes, pele fria e pálida, sonolência, confusão mental, dificuldade respiratória e até perda da consciência. É um quadro grave, que pode ser fatal, e, por isso, necessita de atendimento médico imediato.
Não há tratamento específico para Dengue, apenas os que aliviam os sintomas. Deve-se ingerir muito líquido, como água, sucos, chás e soros caseiros e manter repouso absoluto. É proibido o uso de medicamentos à base de ácido acetil salicílico e anti-inflamatórios, como Aspirina e AAS, pois podem causar hemorragias.
Veja algumas dicas para se prevenir da doença:
- Mantenha caixas ou barris de água fechados com tampa adequada;
- Não deixe água da chuva acumulada sobre a laje;
- Elimine folhas, galhos, e qualquer obstáculo que possa impedir a água de fluir pelas calhas;
- Encha de areia até a borda os pratos dos vasos de plantas;
- Guarde garrafas sempre de cabeça para baixo;
- Não deixe pneus expostos com água no interior;
- Coloque o lixo em sacos plásticos fechados;
- Lave com sabão e escovas o interior dos tanques utilizados para armazenar água;
- Use repelentes à base de DEET em áreas de risco de dengue;
- Coloque telas de proteção nas portas e janelas;
- Use mosquiteiros.

My newest video after a 3 week break. I originally planned to make this using the movie "Imax Dolphin" but since the aspect ratio is way off (think of a rectangle inside a black box) I couldn't salvage the situation.
That was a blissful mistake because I then chose (legally bought) Disney's Earth which has more astonishing scenes showcasing Earth and it's wildlife.
Anyways, I always wanted to make a video out of Planet Sunshine, a collaboration track by P.SUS and Ægypt. This song has truly struck a cord with me and I truly enjoy hearing it whenever I can.
For this video, I wanted to capture the track's name "Planet Sunshine" and revolve the video around the sun and water and how it brings life to everything on Earth (plants, animals) while exploring the amazing landscape. I had an incredible time making this video and I hope you enjoy it as well.

Ægypt
Ægypt is a sequence of four novels by John Crowley. The work describes the work and life of Pierce Moffett, who prepares a manuscript for publication even as it prepares him for some as-yet unknown destiny, all set amidst strange and subtle Hermetic manipulations among the Faraway Hills at the border of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Volumes
The four volumes mingle Moffett's real and dream life in America in 1977 (and, in an extended coda, into the early 1980s) with the narrative of the manuscript he is preparing for publication. The manuscript, left unfinished by its author Fellowes Kraft, is an historical fiction that follows the briefly intersecting adventures of Italian heretic Giordano Bruno and of British occultists John Dee and Edward Kelley.
Moffett is trained as a historian, and is under contract to write a popular history covering hermetical themes. Early in the process, he conceives of writing a novel which, it is clear, would be Ægypt; his ruminations on that novel describe the structure of the novel he is in.

P.SUS + Ægypt - Planet Sunshine [P.SUS Tribute]
My newest video after a 3 week break. I originally planned to make this using the movie "Imax Dolphin" but since the aspect ratio is way off (think of a rectangle inside a black box) I couldn't salvage the situation. That was a blissful mistake because I then chose (legally bought) Disney's Earth which has more astonishing scenes showcasing Earth and it's wildlife. Anyways, I always wanted to make a video out of Planet Sunshine, a collaboration track by P.SUS and Ægypt. This song has truly struck a cord with me and I truly enjoy hearing it whenever I can. For this video, I wanted to capture the track's name "Planet Sunshine" and revolve the video around the sun and water and how it brings life to everything on Earth (plants, animals) while exploring the amazing landscape. Dengue : Dicas para combater o mosquito
A Dengue é uma doença infecciosa que pode ser causada por 4 tipos de vírus. Ela acomete cerca de 100 milhões de pessoas por ano, com uma taxa de mortalidade de 10% para pacientes hospitalizados. No Brasil, a região Sudeste é a mais atingida.
Ela é transmitida pela picada do mosquito fêmea Aedes Aegypti ou Aedes Albopictus. Essas espécies picam durante o dia ou noite e suas larvas se proliferam em água parada, limpa ou suja. Por isso, a melhor forma de se evitar a Dengue é combater o mosquito, eliminando os focos de acúmulo de água.
Sintomas
Geralmente os sintomas se manifestam a partir do 3° dia depois da picada do mosquito e incluem febre alta, forte dor de cabeça, dor atrás dos olhos, perda de apetite, manchas avermelhadas pelo corpo, enjôo, vômitos, tonturas, cansaço extremo, dores intensas nos ossos e articulações.
Alguns pacientes podem evoluir para a forma grave da doença, a Dengue hemorrágica. Seus sintomas são sangramento pelo nariz, boca e gengivas, dor abdominal forte e contínua, choque, vômitos persistentes, pele fria e pálida, sonolência, confusão mental, dificuldade respiratória e até perda da consciência. É um quadro grave, que pode ser fatal, e, por isso, necessita de atendimento médico imediato.
Não há tratamento específico para Dengue, apenas os que aliviam os sintomas. Deve-se ingerir muito líquido, como água, sucos, chás e soros caseiros e manter repouso absoluto. É proibido o uso de medicamentos à base de ácido acetil salicílico e anti-inflamatórios, como Aspirina e AAS, pois podem causar hemorragias.
Veja algumas dicas para se prevenir da doença:
- Mantenha caixas ou barris de água fechados com tampa adequada;
- Não deixe água da chuva acumulada sobre a laje;
- Elimine folhas, galhos, e qualquer obstáculo que possa impedir a água de fluir pelas calhas;
- Encha de areia até a borda os pratos dos vasos de plantas;
- Guarde garrafas sempre de cabeça para baixo;
- Não deixe pneus expostos com água no interior;
- Coloque o lixo em sacos plásticos fechados;
- Lave com sabão e escovas o interior dos tanques utilizados para armazenar água;
- Use repelentes à base de DEET em áreas de risco de dengue;
- Coloque telas de proteção nas portas e janelas;
- Use mosquiteiros.

My newest video after a 3 week break. I originally planned to make this using the movie "Imax Dolphin" but since the aspect ratio is way off (think of a rectangle inside a black box) I couldn't salvage the situation.
That was a blissful mistake because I then chose (legally bought) Disney's Earth which has more astonishing scenes showcasing Earth and it's wildlife.
Anyways, I always wanted to make a video out of Planet Sunshine, a collaboration track by P.SUS and Ægypt. This song has truly struck a cord with me and I truly enjoy hearing it whenever I can.
For this video, I wanted to capture the track's name "Planet Sunshine" and revolve the video around the sun and water and how it brings life to everything on Earth (plants, animals) while exploring the amazing landscape. I had an incredible time making this video and I hope you enjoy it as well.
