The List ranks the largest payroll service providers in Birmingham.

Advantage Payroll Services takes top rank in this year's payroll service providers List, providing services to more than 1,000 local clients. The company processed more than 515,000 payroll checks during 2012.

In this week’s print edition of the Birmingham Business Journal, our List highlighted the largest payroll service providers in the Birmingham area.

The List was ranked by total number of local clients. And also features company information about employees, services and contact information.

Taking the top spot is Advantage Payroll Services with 1,278 local clients

Here’s the top five:

1. Advantage Payroll Services - 1,278 clients

2. ADP - 1,230 clients

3. Paychex Inc. – 1,100 clients

4. Payroll and Benefit Soultions LLC - 625 clients

5. Associated Data Services Inc. - 430 clients
