Linwax - Linseed oil, Beeswax, Turpentine - Wood and Metal Preservative
Linwax is my name for an OLD wood and metal preservative recipe. It's simple to make and it provides good protection and an excellent tacky feel for wooden handles. Mix ratio is 1:1:1. Melt the wax in a double boiler first. Add the turpentine slowly to the wax. Then add the linseed oil slowly. Mix the concoction until it's uniform in color and consistency. Pour the result into some appropriate container (I used a quart paint can) and let it cool overnight. The result is a soft waxy product that's easy to apply and works like a champ. That quart size will last me years.

Rifle stock with BLO - Part 1 (boiled linseed oil finish)
Provides some tips on how to apply boiled linseed oil (BLO) to a military surplus rifle stock. In this case it was an application on a Short Magazine Lee Enfield .303 (SMLE). I applied 17 coats in all. Video doesn't cover things like sanding and other preparations. It does cover the actual process of applying the linseed oil. Nothing much that you can't read about online, but I thought I'd try to help people who may have never done this and perhaps give them a bit of confidence about it at the same time. It's a straight-forward process, just do THIN coats, wipe BEFORE it drys and REPEAT... a lot (17 times, in my case). Wait 12-24 hours between coats. DISPOSE OF TOWELS/CLOTHES CAREFULLY = FIRE HAZARD. Have fun, you can do this! :)

Axe - Restoration Project - Coating the Handle in Linseed Oil
After a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil the previous night I check the progress of the restoration. I then applying another coat of linseed oil. Currently the axe is looking better, I have finished the handle and I will continue to give it several coats of linseed oil. I am slightly disappointed that there is a few marks, perhaps oil or grease that would not come out, and there is also a couple of marks that I could not sand down far enough to remove. But overall its looking better with a few imperfections but nothing that should affect its functionality. By the way if you read this video description, thanks very much 'HIGH 5'. :-)

NappyChronicles No-Fail Flaxseed / Linseed Hair Gel Recipe
This is the Flaxseed Hair Gel aka Chouli Gel© tutorial/recipe.... As seen in the original upload February 2010, Prepoo Tutorial youtu.be & Two Strand Twist with Homemade Flaxseed Gel youtu.be . I made a promise to many and it's finally here #TheTutorial. Have fun adding ingredients (Your Favorite Carrier/Emollient Oil(s) such Avocado Oil, Argan Oil, Apricot Kernel, Sweet Almond Oil, etc. creating the perfect recipe for you. Note: In the UK, Flaxseeds are known as Linseeds. Continue to read more info for additional information... What You'll Need: * large saucepan - you need room for the seeds to move around in the water * wire or nylon mesh strainer - as fine as you can find * large bowl - deep enough so that the gel can get through without the strainer touching the surface * small wire whisk - the classic teardrop shaped kind or a tablespoon * 8 oz bottle - for storing your finished gel * flaxseeds (linseeds), water, aloe vera gel (optional), your favorite carrier/emollient oil(s), a preservative (such as vitamin E), and an essential oil (optional) Pour 2 cups of water (not warm or hot - just cool from the tap) into saucepan. Turn heat on high and bring to a boil. Once your water comes to a boil, add 3 tbsp of flaxseeds (linseeds in the UK). Stir gently, but almost constantly. When you start getting a thin, foamy jelly, turn the heat down a little, but keep stirring, watching for the point when you let the seeds settle for a second and they suspend in the clear jelly ...
