Brian Lee Harvey (born 8 August 1974) is an English musician and former lead singer of pop band East 17.
Harvey was born in Walthamstow, London, and attended Sir George Monoux School from 1988-90.
Harvey was initially slated to be a backup singer and dancer for East 17, but during the initial recording session he was heard singing along by the recording staff and was promptly instated as the lead singer of the band.
Harvey's vocal style emulated R&B and new jack swing vocalists from the U.S. His vocals put him into a position of the band's frontman, or main member, which was shared with the band's creator, songwriter, instrumentalist, rapper and singer Tony Mortimer.
Throughout the course of the band's career the two leads had many disagreements, from how to vocalise songs to their behaviour in public. This tore the band between spiritual pop/hip-hop (Mortimer's writing influence) and R&B (the other band members) which would eventually lead to Mortimer leaving the band and Harvey becoming the only lead singer.
Bill Maloney is a businessman and was the candidate for the Republican Party in the 2011 special election for governor of West Virginia, in which he lost.
Maloney co-founded a drilling company in 1984. He was involved in the Plan B rescue attempt during the 2010 Chilean mine disaster. Maloney has never held public office before. He lives in Morgantown, West Virginia.
With a business partner, Maloney founded a company called North American Drillers in Morgantown in 1984. The company specialized in drilling large-diameter shafts for the coal, oil and natural gas industries. The business grew to 150 employees when Maloney sold his interest in 2006. Maloney has also invested in start-up companies.
Maloney used his drilling expertise in support of the Plan B attempt to rescue the 33 trapped Chilean miners. Maloney joined the Center Rock team led by Brandon Fisher. Maloney had invested in Fisher's company as start-up. The Plan B effort was ultimately successful, and the miners were saved.
Since returning to the United States, Maloney founded the Mine Rescue Drilling Fund, which supports mine rescues efforts and mine rescue technology in the United States.
Wyclef Jeanelle Jean (/ˈwaɪklɪf ˈʒɑːn/; Haitian Creole pronunciation: [wajklɛf ʒã]; born October 17, 1969) is a Haitian American musician, record producer, and politician. At age nine, Jean moved to the United States with his family and has spent much of his life in the country. He first received fame as a member of the acclaimed New Jersey hip hop group the Fugees.
On August 5, 2010, Jean filed for candidacy in the 2010 Haitian presidential election, although the Electoral Commission subsequently ruled him ineligible to stand as he had not met the requirement to have been resident in Haiti for five years.
Although his birth date was widely given as October 17, 1972, papers filed for his run as a candidate for the presidency of Haiti, disclosed that he was, in fact, born in 1969. Born in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, the son of a Nazarene pastor, Wyclef moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York, when he was nine before moving again to northern New Jersey. Jean has cited reggae artist Bigga Haitian as one of his early influences, as well as neighborhood heroes MC Tiger Paw Raw and producer Lobster v. Crab. Jean graduated from Vailsburg High School in Newark, briefly attended Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts, and finished one semester at Five Towns College in New York. Jean has been a resident of Saddle River, South Orange, and North Caldwell, New Jersey. In 2009, Jean enrolled in the Berklee College of Music.
Refugee camp
Feel it
Turn my mike up Yo!
It's the international kid with mass appeal
I know I'm signed but I still rhyme like I need a DealMy mike checked from the
suburbs to the projects
Cutting your neck like a Killer's Gillette
The whole club jumped like grasshoppers
When the record is produced by Wyclef and Jerry Wonder
Two rhymes to go,I know you all want me to leave
Brian Harvey come in and serenade all the Ladies
If loving you is a crime
Lock me up throw away the Key
Tell the judge i don't ever want to see sunlight no more -keep a lock on the door
Now I'm trapped-prison walls
Thoughts of you is what keep me alive
S'what my cell mate said
"Hey yo!what you gonna do when you get out of prison?"
Chorus-Jump in the cap, find my way home
Step out the shower, dry myself to the bone
You know what's next-put on my fresh cologne
My phone rings ding a ding ding ding
No time to stall,Shorty give me a call
She told me holler back and the girls can get involved
You know ho we do with the Refugee crew
It's Brian Harvey
ole ole ole ole ole ole
ole ole ole ole ole ole
Yo Yo Yo with the pretty smile
Fake nummber you gave me I couldn'dial
When I looked in her eyes and I asked her why
Said her Daddy was a spy for the FBI
Hold up I heard sirens behind my back
Turned around and saw a man who was dressed in black
Yo!We pulled it back said 'don't act like that'I want you to for more then your
kitty cat
Shine a light to my uptown girl(uptown girl)
Here's a shout for my downtown girl(downtown girl)Let the light stay low
Girl you can't resist
Feel the Refugee flow
Theres no way can ride the pain
When tears they fall like drops of rain
She's gone and broke your heart again in two
But I know what you wanna do
What you need to do is
(Chorus)
Come over
Let me wash away all your troubles
And you will be my Senorita
And we can make love all night long
Girl I can see it in your eyes
The way he hurt you with his lies
I wish that you would realize
That he's no good for you
I'll promise I'll be true
So what you need to do is
(Chorus)
Come on over swing my way
I know that we can get it on,get it startet
If only you would come on over to my place
We'll get it on
Girl when you come over
(Chorus/Repeat)
you send chives down my spine
I'll do anything to make you mine
Girl you bring me something new
Something that I need
To make my life complete
I've been waiting for so long
For someone like you to come along
and now you're here I want you to stay
So tell your man to call it a day
(Bridge)
ooh ooh ooh ooh anything that he does
i will not only match but I'll do better than that
ooh ooh ooh ooh anything you want girl
It's a matter of fact,I'll do better than that
(Chorus)
Do you want to get down with me
If he gives you all that you need
If you wanna believe
I'll do better than that
It's just a matter of fact
that I'll do better than that
I've got everything you want
everything you need to make you my own
He can't love you like I can
It's my purgative to get the upper hand
(Bridge)
(Chorus)
(Bridge)
(Bridge)
(Chorus)
Wont you think of me
When you up and leave
If you really have to go
Promise if you ever get lonely let me know
Let your feelings show
You know I'll always be here baby
Baby I thought I was the only
The only one you thought about
That's when i discovered
That you were messing me around
With another lover
(Bridge)
I'm still here its true
It all depends on you
If you want to take another chance
It's all I really trying to say
I wish that you would stay
Because I need you around
(Chorus)
Tell me when you was my Lady
Did you ever want anything at all
Tell me what I did to make you want to change
Was it that bad that you had to go that way
(Bridge)
(Chorus 2 mal)
Do you really want her back?
Can you do without
And I'm not having any doubts
Think about it so we can work it out(2 mal)
(Chorus 2 mal)
Woah, woah, woah,
Woah, woah
Oh yeah, oh,
B. Harvey
Baby you know that
I can't stop thinking
About the night we had
When you and me
Made time stand still
I need to know now
If you felt the same way
If I would come back
To your door then
Would you let me in?
(And I)
Don't know what
You're doing to me
(It was)
So good and
It tasted so sweet
(And I)
Just know that
I can't let it be
Baby you know that
You're the only one for me
But I need to know
If I got it all wrong
Should we leave it like it is
Or do you wanna go on?
(Yeah)
Straight up, no bends,
Can we do it again?
If you think about it, baby
There's no need to pretend
'Cause it felt so good and
It can't be wrong
We've been
Keeping it a secret
Baby far too long
Straight up, no bends,
Do we have to pretend?
If you think about it baby,
You don't want it to end
If it feels like love
Then it can't be wrong
Don't go making this a problem,
Don't go dropping bombs
(Yeah, yeah)
And now your girls say
You've started thinking
You wanna keep your
Independence and options
It doesn't figure
(No)
I don't believe that
The things we said then
Didn't mean a
Single thing to you
(Am I)
Too strung out to
See what you see
(Was I)
All wrong when
I thought it could be
(Is it)
So easy to
Set yourself free?
Baby stop playin' me
Like a fool,
Oh can't you see?
That I need to know if
I got it all wrong
Should we leave it like it is
Or do you wanna go on?
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Straight up, no bends,
Can we do it again?
If you think about it,
Baby there's no
Need to pretend
'Cause it felt so good
And it can't be wrong
We've been
Keeping it a secret
Baby far too long
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Straight up, no bends,
Do we have to pretend
If you think about it baby
(Think about it now)
You don't want it to end
If it feels like love
Then it can't be wrong
Don't go making this a problem,
Don't go dropping bombs
Baby, you gotta let me know
If you feel the same way
Then let it show
You know that I'm just
Waiting for your call
Oh baby
I can't give you up
Got a good thing going
So please don't stop
You know it's the real thing
So baby,
Please give me the word
Yeah straight up
(Yeah)
No bends,
Can we do it again?
If you think about it, baby
There's no need to pretend
'Cause it felt so good and
It can't be wrong
We've been
Keeping it a secret
Baby far too long
(Keeping it a secret)
Straight up, no bends,
Do we have to pretend
If you think about it baby
You don't want it to end
If it feels like love
Then it can't be wrong
Don't go making this a problem
(Oh)
Don't go dropping bombs
Straight up, no bends,
Can we do it again?
If you think about it,
Baby there's no need
To pretend (oh)
'Cause it felt so good
And it can't be wrong
(Can't be wrong)
We've been
Keeping it a secret
Baby far too long
Straight up, no bends
(No no no)
Do we have to pretend?
If you think about it baby,
You don't want it to end
If it feels like love
Then it can't be wrong
Don't go making this a problem
(Oh, oh, oh)
