Ryuji Ito

Ryuji Ito is arguably the face of the new generation of Big Japan Pro Wrestling. First appearing for the promotion in late 2001, Ito eventually honed his skills, and became a very good wrestler. He then turned his attention to the deathmatches, and made them an art form. Unlike some deathmatch wrestlers, Ito chose to not rely on weaponry, and instead incorporated the weaponry with his already great wrestling skills. This state of thinking has brought us some awesome deathmatches over the past few years, and some incredibly innovative spots and matches. He won the BJW Heavyweight Title in 2003 for the first time against Kintaro Kanemura in an incredible Cage Deathmatch, and defended the belt against all comers, including a MOTYC against Abdullah Kobayashi in late 2003. He also competed in one of the first Circus Deathmatches in Japan since the original match. Ito's style is one that also takes a toll on himself, as he has had some incredible injuries over the years, including two simultaneously broken arms. The Dragon Splash is a move that can take out any opponent Ito faces.
