On Friday, Israeli soldiers attacked the weekly protests organized in the villages of al Nabi Saleh, Bil’in, and Nil’in, in the central West Bank, and Al Ma’ssara village in the southern West Bank. A rally in support of Palestinian political prisoners was also held on Friday, on the grounds of the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Full Story

Israeli Justice Minister, Tzipi Livni, stated that the next round of direct peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (P.A) will be held in Israel in the second week of this month, and added that the first group of Palestinian detainees will be released by then. Full Story

In its Weekly Report On Israeli Human Rights Violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories for the week of 25 - 31 July 2013, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) found that Israeli forces continued to fire at Palestinian civilians in border areas in the Gaza Strip, wounding 2 Palestinian civilians. 5 Palestinian civilians were wounded in the West Bank during Israeli incursions, and 2 Palestinian civilians, including a B’Tselem volunteer, were wounded by Israeli forces during non-violent demonstrations.
