"Shattered" by Frank Pastore
"Shattered" by Frank Pastore
Get it at Audible: bit.ly Cincinnati Reds pitcher Frank Pastore stepped onto the mound in Dodger Stadium to throw another fastball—something he'd done thousands of times since childhood. But this time was different. The batter connected and the ball came rocketing back to the mound, shattering not only Frank's pitching elbow—but also his dream of getting "rich and famous" through Major League Baseball.™ As he walked to the training room, Frank found himself asking a God he didn't believe in, "Why is this happening to me?" There was no answer—at least not then. It was this injury that sent Frank, a lifelong atheist, on a journey that would change not only his mind but also his whole life—as a husband, father, friend, and troubled son. We all know the pain of shattered dreams. We've all wondered how to pick up the broken pieces after a crisis. We've all wondered, "Where is God?" when life hurts so bad. This is a story of how the fragments of broken dreams can be reassembled into even bigger and better things. A story of how, when life's disasters and difficulties knock us down, they don't have to destroy us. This is a story that shows how all of us can come to know we're in God's good hands. Even when we're shattered.

Marty Angelo - "Frank Pastore Radio Show" - Interview
This an interview that was conducted live on November 01, 2009 in Los Angeles, California on the Frank Pastore Radio Show - KKLA 99.5 FM. Frank Pastore is a former professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds from 1979 until 1985, and for the Minnesota Twins in 1986. On June 4, 1984, in Dodger Stadium, all of that changed when Frank was struck in the elbow by a line drive ending his professional baseball career. He became a Christian in late 1984 and eventually went on to earn a Masters Degree in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics in December 1994 and directed the Talbot Institute for Biblical Studies, a church-based training ministry to help churches establish their own lay institutes for Christian education. On January 5, 2004 Pastore became the host of The Frank Pastore Show on KKLA 99.5 FM in Los Angeles. It is the largest Christian talk show in the United States. See this website link for more background information on Pastore. www.thecross-photo.com Marty Angelo worked in the entertainment business from 1965 to 1980 as a television producer, record promoter, disk jockey, restaurant/nightclub owner and personal manager for rock 'n' roll bands. Though at times Angelo thought he achieved success, internally he always felt an emptiness in his heart, sensing his life neither had real meaning nor true purpose. Nothing ever seemed to matter to him. Consequently, he lived a rebellious, sin-riddled out-of-control lifestyle. Angelo was arrested in 1980 for two counts ...

When we asked if he would mind saying a few words about Albert (the sole jeweler and artisan designer behind The Noble Jewelers) the last thing we expected was for KKLA's Frank Pastore to do a full on professional testimonial/commercial for our website. But he did. And we thank him. And he did an impression of Albert. Which is pretty amazing. Come see his work in our Online Store at www.thenoblejewelers.com

9/20/11 re FRANK PASTORE & CHUCK FROMM & San Juan Capistrano Bible Study
9/19/11 Re CHUCK FROMM ("Worship Leader" see www.chuckfromm.net & FRANK PASTORE ("conservative Christian" Radio Talk Show host & Former MLB pitcher) & THE SJ CAPISTRANO BIBLE STUDY BREAKUP (btw, I wish frank wouldn't say "bro" & "man" so often to his guests..does he say "dude" too?.these are pejoratives used by clerks around los angeles...not that frank is using them in that way, but he should know that others do so). I usually agree w/ frank..& still do on this matter, but w/ some reservations, or qualifications..he's saying theoretically SJC (San Juan Capistrano) could require a CUP (conditional use permit, which can be expensive) if 3 people gathered & opened a bible...but that's getting ridiculous...I don't think SJC would go to such extremes..this is about a bible study of 40 people ..that's getting up there..but if its a rural area w/ plenty of parking it shouldn't be a problem..it bothers me if SJC is doing this in an anti-cHristian manner..vexatious manner..I agree theoretically that any group should be allowed to gather regardless of religion but would agree w/ such a policy it if is used as a "just in case" policy to prevent terror cells, etc. ......I called PASTORE on the phone, and got thru one of the "dudes" who pre-screens everybody to determine if they have something interesting to say...I partially disagree w/ Frank because he's talking about this case in san juan cap ..where they fined somebody $500 for having a bible study at the home of 3 or more people ...

10/10/11 R MORMONS CHRISTIANS ? LISTENING to FRANK PASTORE, DAY 1
www.youtube.com Frank Pastore's personal blog ... with some further info & links to his radio show is at frankpastore.blogspot.com for all my thoughts go to vanderkok.posterous.com // I LEARN a lot from the radio talk shows driving around southern California ... I've been listening to a lot of Frank Pastore lately ... & today (10/10/11) Frank had a guest by the name of Derick Bowen (?) (he didn't spell the name & I didn't find anything when I googled his name, but I heard mention that he was involved with seminaries & education for the mormons , albeit both the guest & Frank frequently made sure they made us aware that he was not an "official" representative of the mormon church, simply an informed mormon giving his thoughts & information about the mormon church, particularly in regard to whether they think of themselves as Christians or not) ... the topic arose, of course, because of the comment by a pastor Jeffress who said that Mitt Romney is a "good moral person, but not a Christian..." ..and that "mormonism is a cult..." ... so they discussed it... this is NOT the full interview (you can get the full audio at Frank Pastore's website) ... Derick insisted that mormons are Christians & that they believed that Joseph Smith had a better or "fuller" understanding of the Bible.. and at one point said that they should not be called a cult, but maybe "unorthodox Christianity"...to which Frank responded that he is "not ready to go that far yet"... both of them also made ...
