2000 NBA draft
The 2000 NBA draft was held on June 28, 2000 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was the last draft held at the home arena of an NBA team until 2011; the following and subsequent drafts (through 2010) all took place at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City (though Madison Square Garden itself is the home of the New York Knicks, they do not play in the theater). As of 2015, it is also the last NBA draft where a college senior would be selected as the top selection of the draft.
To date, only top pick Kenyon Martin, first-rounder Jamaal Magloire (19th pick overall), and second-rounder Michael Redd (43rd pick overall) have played in the NBA All-Star Game (each only making the team one time); only one player has made an All-NBA Team (Redd, whose sole appearance was on the third team in 2004); only three players in the draft class have won a major end-of-season award (Hedo Türkoğlu was named Most Improved Player in 2008, Mike Miller won both the NBA Rookie of the Year and NBA Sixth Man of the Year awards in 2001 and 2006 respectively, and Jamal Crawford was named NBA Sixth Man of the Year in 2010 and 2014); and few draft selections have enjoyed extended careers in the NBA. Sports Illustrated named this entire draft class (as opposed to individual players) the 6th biggest bust of the modern era - making it the only draft class among the site's top 20 list. Just before the 2009 draft, ESPN.com columnist David Schoenfield wrote a piece in which he rated all of the drafts since the institution of the draft lottery in 1985, and the only draft which he gave the lowest possible grade of "F" was the 2000 draft.
1999 NBA draft
The 1999 NBA Draft was held on June 30, 1999 at the MCI Center (now Verizon Center) in Washington, D.C. It was the first draft in which four players from the same college were picked in the first round, with Elton Brand (1st selection), Trajan Langdon (11th), Corey Maggette (13th) and William Avery (14th) being selected out of Duke University. It is widely viewed as one of the best draft classes, with a total of nine future NBA All-Stars being chosen, as well as three winners of the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award—Manu Ginóbili, Jason Terry, and Lamar Odom. Undrafted Pablo Prigioni made his NBA debut at 2012/2013 season as the oldest rookie in league history, at age 35.

These players were not selected in the 1999 NBA draft but have played in the NBA. Theodoros Papaloukas has not played any game in the NBA, but he has been one of the most iconic players in the Euroleague for Olympiacos and CSKA Moscow.

1953 NBA draft
The 1953 NBA draft was the seventh annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on April 24, 1953 before the 1953–54 season. In this draft, nine remaining NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players. In each round, the teams select in reverse order of their win–loss record in the previous season. The draft consisted of 19 rounds comprising 122 players selected.

Ray Felix from Long Island University was selected first overall by the Baltimore Bullets and went on to win the Rookie of the Year Award in his first season.Ernie Beck and Walter Dukes were selected before the draft as Philadelphia Warriors' and New York Knicks' territorial picks respectively. Three players from this draft, Bob Houbregs, Frank Ramsey and Cliff Hagan, have been inducted to the Basketball Hall of Fame.

2006 NBA draft
The 2006 NBA draft was held on June 28, 2006 at the Theatre at Madison Square Garden in New York City and was broadcast in the United States on ESPN. In this draft, National Basketball Association (NBA) teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. This was also the only time the New Orleans Hornets would draft under the temporary name of the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets as the city of New Orleans was still recovering from the events of Hurricane Katrina after the 2005-06 NBA season.
Italian Andrea Bargnani was selected first overall by Toronto Raptors, who won the draft lottery. He became the second player without competitive experience in the United States to be drafted first overall. Prior to the draft he was playing with Italian club Benetton Treviso for 3 years. Sixth overall pick Brandon Roy from University of Washington was named Rookie of the Year for the 2006–07 season. Roy was originally drafted by Minnesota Timberwolves but his draft rights were traded to Portland Trail Blazers on draft day. Portland also acquired the draft rights to second overall pick from University of Texas, LaMarcus Aldridge from Chicago Bulls on draft day.
