Rock City is on Lookout Mountain in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, located near Ruby Falls. It is well known for the many barn advertisements throughout the Southeast and Midwest United States that have the slogan "See Rock City" painted on roofs and sides. Clark Byers painted over 900 barn roofs in nineteen states for Rock City from 1935 to 1969.
Rock City claims that it is possible to see seven states from Lover's Leap, a point in Rock City, but this has not been proven.
Events and shows
In 2006 Rock City began having daily bird shows for its visitors. The bird shows focus on birds of prey. The shows are included with paid admission to the gardens. Now, however, the birds of prey shows are Thursdays through Sundays, from Memorial Day to Labor Day, at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, with an additional show at 4:30 pm on Saturdays.
Every Autumn, Rock City creates a maze using crops of corn in the valley below the gardens. The maze can be seen from the Lovers Leap lookout point. From the gardens, you can view imagery and designs that have been cut out within the maze.

Rock City, Kansas
Rock City is a park located on hillsides overlooking the Solomon River in Ottawa County, Kansas. It is 3.6 miles south of Minneapolis, Kansas and just over 0.5 mile west of Kansas highway K-106 and the Minneapolis City County Airport on Ivy Road. In a patch of prairie about 500 meters (1600 feet) long and 40 meters (130 feet) wide, Rock City contains three clusters of large spherical boulders. These three clusters contain a total of 200 spherical boulders. It has been designated as a National Natural Landmark.
The park, owned by a non-profit corporation, has a visitor center and picnic tables. A small admission fee, which is used to maintain this park, is charged.
The remarkable size and spherical shape of these rock formation was first noted by Bell. Later, these boulders were either noted or described by Gould, Landes, Shaffer, Ward, and Swineford. Shaffer was the first person to map the distribution of these boulders at Rock City and investigate their petrography in detail.

Rock City was a pop music group in the late 1960s formed by Chris Bell, Terry Manning, Jody Stephens, and Thomas Eubanks. They recorded one album, which was shelved at the time, and not released until 2003. The group was a progenitor to Big Star, and also performed at times under the names "Christmas Future" and "Icewater."

Rock City (duo)
Rock City, also known as R. City and Planet VI, is an American musical duo from Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, formed in 2003. The duo, composed of brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas, who use the stage names, A.I. and Uptown AP respectively, are also a songwriting and record production team. The Thomas brothers also write and produce for other artists, including Jamaican artiste, Sean Kingston ("Take You There"), American singer, Miley Cyrus ("We Can't Stop"), Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj ("Only") and Barbadian popstar Rihanna ("Pour It Up").
The duo has also contributed to numerous Grammy-nominated albums including Rihanna's Unapologetic (which won Best Urban Contemporary Album), Jennifer Hudson's self-titled album (which won Best R&B Album), and Ariana Grande's My Everything (which was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album).
Rock City also releases original music, having released several mixtapes since 2008. The group had previously been signed to Geffen Records and KonLive, where they released a series of mixtapes with the primary title, PTFAO (Put the F*ckin' Album Out)—a reference to the fact that their debut album Wake the Neighbors, had not been given a release date. In 2011, the duo was released from their contract with KonLive, and founded Rebelution Records, on which they intended to release their debut album. A new album, What Dreams Are Made Of, is due to be released in 2015, after being signed to Kemosabe Records and RCA Records by Dr. Luke.

Driving along the highway in Kansas, there are billboards for Rock City. It makes sense that an interested tourist would expect something like buildings or at least huts built out of rock. Rock City is actually a collection of rocks that tourists pay $3 to see. Upon paying out the three dollars, you are given a little pamphlet that marks out the rocks and labels them. Hidden History - Rock City Park, Kansas
I found this little park while looking for some unique to do in Kansas. This park was really unique and interesting. Duke and I were the only ones at the park so we had a nice time exploring and even took a few hiking trails. The information center/gift shop was closed because it was out of season, but they had brochures outside. I think it was well worth the $3 fee to see these rocks. The beautiful park has restrooms, a gift shop and lovely shaded picnic areas. There are also short hiking trails and lots of native plants, including many wildflowers.

I found this little park while looking for some unique to do in Kansas. This park was really unique and interesting. Duke and I were the only ones at the park so we had a nice time exploring and even took a few hiking trails. The information center/gift shop was closed because it was out of season, but they had brochures outside. I think it was well worth the $3 fee to see these rocks.

Crazy Cheap Chick stepped away from the farm for a day trip to Rock City located near Minneapolis, Kansas. Rock City is located 20 miles north of the I-70 and I-135 interchange or 3.5 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Kansas. If you are traveling through Kansas, it is definitely worth a short detour to Rock City. My grandkids loved it! Save money by taking in attractions close to home!
Rock City is a natural formation of over 200 large stone boulders called concretions which were formed during the late Crustaceous Period. Other examples of sandstone concretions can be found but most are cannonball sized orbs. No place on earth has such a large collection of these giant concretions. It's a hidden wonder that you will not want to miss. Rock City is one of five National Landmarks in Kansas recognized by the U.S. National Park Service and one of the 8 geographical wonder of Kansas.
You can climb on the rocks and it is a great phot opportunity. My grandkids loved climbing through the "donut hole", a large rock with a perfect hole through the center.
The beautiful park has restrooms, a gift shop and lovely shaded picnic areas. There are also short hiking trails and lots of native plants, including many wildflowers.

Minneapolis, KS is the place where intrepid adventurers can find Rock City, the world's largest collection of sandstone concretions.
Driving along the highway in Kansas, there are billboards for Rock City. It makes sense that an interested tourist would expect something like buildings or at least huts built out of rock. Rock City is actually a collection of rocks that tourists pay $3 to see. Upon paying out the three dollars, you are given a little pamphlet that marks out the rocks and labels them. There is the crescent, lips, turtle, twin sisters, kissing rocks, bathtub, and the giant's easy chair -- among others -- and if you tilt your head the right way and squint your eyes, sometimes the rocks actually do look like that.
A geologist may find this area considerably more interesting. According to the pamphlets provided by the Rock City Gift Shop, these rocks are the largest collection of giant sedimentary rock in the world. Scientists hypothesize that the rocks were created after water, which covered all of Kansas millions of years ago, receeded. The ground water then contained calcium carbonate which cemented all the rocks together

I found this little park while looking for some unique to do in Kansas. This park was really unique and interesting. Duke and I were the only ones at the park so we had a nice time exploring and even took a few hiking trails. The information center/gift shop was closed because it was out of season, but they had brochures outside. I think it was well worth the $3 fee to see these rocks.
