Craig Cash(born 11 September 1960) is an English comedian, actor, director and BAFTA award-winning writer and producer. His best known work is in the television shows The Royle Family, The Fast Show, The Mrs Merton Show, Early Doors, Sunshine and most recently The Cafe and After Hours.
Cash is best known for playing slightly dull and dopey working-class northern men, particularly Dave Best in the BBC sitcom The Royle Family, which he co-wrote with Caroline Aherne. He has also written for The Fast Show and for Aherne on The Mrs Merton Show. He rose to prominence in the late 1980s/early 1990s as a music radio DJ on cult south Manchester station KFM, where his shows featured a section entitled 'Who's Mother', featuring the vocal talents of Caroline Aherne. During this period he was also the manager of the band "That Uncertain Feeling". In 1999 Cash performed uncredited duties as script editor on That Peter Kay Thing, a fact only revealed in 2004 when he moderated the DVD commentary.
Caroline Mary Aherne (born 24 December 1963) is an English comedian and BAFTA-winning writer and actress, best known for Mrs Merton, The Fast Show and The Royle Family. She is also the narrator of the Channel 4 reality series Gogglebox.
Aherne was born in Ealing, London, into the family of an Irish railway worker, and from the age of two was raised in Wythenshawe, Manchester, where she attended the Hollies Convent Grammar School in West Didsbury. She then studied drama at Liverpool Polytechnic. Like her brother, Patrick, Aherne suffered from retinoblastoma in childhood, which left her partially sighted in one eye.
Aherne began performing on the Manchester comedy circuit as characters such as Mitzi Goldberg, lead singer of the comedy country and western act The Mitzi Goldberg Experience, and Sister Mary Immaculate, an Irish nun. She developed her Mrs Merton character with Frank Sidebottom for his show on Piccadilly Radio, where she worked as a receptionist. Aherne's first TV appearances were a semi-regular spot on the Granada TV discussion show "Upfront" in 1990, as Mrs Merton. She made brief appearances in The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer (1993), alongside Steve Coogan and John Thomson in a Granada TV pilot entitled The Dead Good Shows, then appeared in and wrote for the BBC comedy series The Fast Show between 1994 and 1997.

In the United States:
Cash refers to money in the physical form of currency, such as banknotes and coins.
In bookkeeping and finance, cash refers to current assets comprising currency or currency equivalents that can be accessed immediately or near-immediately (as in the case of money market accounts). Cash is seen either as a reserve for payments, in case of a structural or incidental negative cash flow or as a way to avoid a downturn on financial markets.
The word is variously attributed. Some claim that the word "cash" comes from the modern French word caisse, which means (money) box, from the Provençal word caissa, from the Italian cassa, from the Latin capsa all meaning box. In the 18th century, the word passed to refer to the money instead of the actual box containing it. Another claim is that it was derived from Tamil word kāsu (Tamil: காசு) meaning a coin, by East India Company.
"Cash" used as a verb means "to convert to cash"; for example in the expression "to cash a cheque".
In Western Europe, after the Collapse of the Western Roman Empire, coins, silver jewelry and hacksilver (silver objects hacked into pieces) were for centuries the only form of money, until Venetian merchants started using silver bars for large transactions in the early Middle Ages. In a separate development, Venetian merchants started using paper bills, instructing their banker to make payments. Similar marked silver bars were in use in lands where the Venetian merchants had established representative offices. The Byzantine empire and several states in the Balkan area and Kievan Rus also used marked silver bars for large payments. As the world economy developed and silver supplies increased, in particular after the colonization of South America, coins became larger and a standard coin for international payment developed from the 15th century: the Spanish and Spanish colonial coin of 8 reales. Its counterpart in gold was the Venetian ducat.
Early Doors is a BBC sitcom written by Craig Cash and Phil Mealey who also appear in the series playing best friends Joe and Duffy. The setting is The Grapes, a small public house where daily life revolves around the issues of love, loneliness and blocked urinals.
The show centres on pub landlord Ken (John Henshaw), especially his preoccupation with his daughter Melanie (Christine Bottomley), who is preparing to meet her real father and his nervous relationship with barmaid Tanya (Susan Cookson). Ken's wife left him for his best friend.
The series reflects more than a little of the Northern humour displayed in The Royle Family (co-written by Cash). In a similar style to The Royle Family, every scene unfolds within the spatial context of The Grapes and it is also set in Greater Manchester. Two series of the show were produced between 2003 and 2004. It has often been stated that scripts for a third series have been written but the BBC have never shown interest in commissioning it.
Craig Cash is a southwest Florida rapper on the rise. When asked about his music video, Craig mentioned how he wanted to showcase the area where he lived.
