Bappi D. Lahiri was born in Calcutta, West Bengal into a family with a rich tradition in classical music. His father, Aparesh Lahiri, was a famous Bengali singer and his mother, Bansari Lahiri, was a musician and a singer who was well-versed in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. He is their only child.
At a very early age, he had the ambition to become internationally famous. He began to play the tabla at the age of three. His maternal relatives include Kishore Kumar and the S. Mukherjee clan. Initially he was trained by his parents, after which he received his first opportunity in a Bengali film, Daadu (1972) at the age of 19.
He moved to Mumbai when he was 19. The first Hindi film for which he composed music was Nanha Shikari (1973). The turning point of his career was Tahir Husain's Hindi film, Zakhmee (1975), for which he composed music and doubled as a playback singer. He sang a duet with Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar called "Nothing Is Impossible" for the same film. The songs of his next film, Chalte Chalte (1976), became hits. With Ravikant Nagaich's Surakksha his singing and music became even more popular.
He was the fittest musician for Mithun Chakraborty's disco dance-based films. Mithun Chakraborty and Bappi Lahiri became synonyms of Indian disco culture in the 1980s. He also scored music for many Hindi films produced from South India. He is called 'Disco King' around India.
Bappi Lahiri popularized the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema with an Indian flavour. Most of his songs would be rendered by singers Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle. He launched Vijay Benedict and Sharon Prabhakar into the music industry. He also used Alisha Chinoy and Usha Uthup extensively for his compositions.
Some of his music has often been sampled by international musicians, such as Dr. Dre, Truth Hurts, and Prodigy, among others. His Disco Dancer (1982) soundtrack has influenced songs by artists such as Devo, Ruki Vverh!, and M.I.A.. His most widely sampled song is "Come Closer" from Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki (1984), which has been sampled by various musicians in recent years, including Dabrye, A.G., Planet Asia, "Zooby Zooby" Dance Dance Kutmasta Kurt, Masta Ace, eMC, Edu Kehäkettunen, Stig Dogg, and Onra.[1]
Throughout his career Lahiri has been accused of plagiarizing music produced by other composers without giving them any credit or royalties.[2][3]
Conversely, in one instance, portions of his song "Thoda Resham Lagta Hai" were included in a 2002 single "Addictive" by American R&B singer Truth Hurts. Copyright holders Saregama India, Ltd. sued Interscope Records and its parent company, Universal Music Group to the tune of more than $500 million. A Los Angeles federal judge subsequently barred further sales of the CD unless and until Lahiri was listed on the song's credits.[2][4]
Lahiri disappeared from the Indian film industry in the 1990s. He made a brief comeback in the Prakash Mehra produced Dalal starring Mithun Chakraborty. The song "Gutur Gutur" from the film was a big hit, though it had its share of controversies due to its suggestive lyrics.
In 2004, he brought out his album Bappi Magic - The Asli Baap Mix, featuring popular numbers such as "Gori Hai Kalaiyan" and "Jimmy Jimmy." It attained great popularity. In 2005, he composed the background score for the Jahnu Barua film, Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara, thus reaffirming his identity as a very versatile composer. In 2006, he lent his voice to another composer for the first time with the song "Boombai Nagariya" which he sang for Vishal-Shekhar for the movie Taxi Number 9211. Of late, he has once again lent his voice to the title track of the Mani Ratnam film Guru, in which the music has been composed by A.R.Rahman. He has recorded songs for the movie Level Crossing produced by actor Jayaprada. In 2006, he appeared on the popular television show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs on Zee TV as co-judge with singers Alka Yagnik and Abhijeet. He was a judge for the 2007 edition of Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Sony Entertainment Television's K For Kishore reality show that aims to find the 'heir apparent' to Kishore Kumar.
In 2010 Lahiri was back with "i am a disco dancer" in Golmaal 3 in his own voice. The track was from his previous film Disco Dancer. In 2011, he sung the song Ooo la la Ooo la lain the movie The Dirty Picture for Vishal-Shekhar, which cherishes his Disco image. In 2011, he released album Walking On Love Street featuring American Idol winner Shaun Barrows. The album features on CMJ's New Music Report Magazine charts ,Week World Chart and WONY Oneonta, New York - Top Ten Jazz Playlist.[5]
Bappi Lahiri is married to Chitrani. They have two children- daughter Rema and son Bappa. He is very fond of jewelry and is usually seen wearing gold ornaments and dark glasses with a tracksuit. Bappa Lahiri got married in April 2012.

Warsi was born in Mumbai, India, and did his schooling at a boarding school, Barnes School, Deolali in Nashik district, Maharashtra.[2] He was orphaned at the age of 14 and struggled for a living in Mumbai during his early days.[3]
Financial circumstances forced Warsi to start work as a door-to-door cosmetics salesman at age 17. Later he worked in a photo lab. Meanwhile he had a keen interest in dancing and received an offer to join Akbar Sami's Dance group in Mumbai, which started his dancing and choreographing career. He also assisted Mahesh Bhatt in Thikana (1987) and Kaash (1987).[4][5]
Then in 1991, he won the Indian dance competition, followed by the fourth prize in the Modern Jazz category in 1992 World Dance championship, London, at the age of 21. Soon, he started his own dance studio, 'Awesome' with that money and also formed a dance troupe. It was here, his future wife, Maria Goretti, a St. Andrew's College student joined him, before she became a VJ. He was also associated with English theater group in Mumbai, choreographing shows for Bharat Dabholkar and got an opportunity to choreograph the title track for the film, Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993).[6]
He got his first offer to act in Amitabh Bachchan's production company, ABCL's first production Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. After its success, he acted in several other films over the next six years, but most of which failed to do well at the box office, till 2003, when he starred in the comedy film Munnabhai MBBS, which turned to be a huge box office success and gained him much critical acclaim and a nomination at the Filmfare Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting role. He has since appeared in several successful films such as Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya (2005), Salaam Namaste (2005) Golmaal, Kabul Express, Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), the sequel to Munnabhai MBBS which also won him his first Filmfare Award under the category of Best Comedian. He also starred in hit films like Dhamaal (2007), Golmaal Returns (2008), Ishqiya (2010) and Golmaal 3 (2010). His 2011 releases include the comedies F.A.L.T.U and Double Dhamaal.
His first film as a producer, Hum Tum Aur Ghost was released in 2010.[5]
Warsi is starring opposite Sanjay Dutt in Munnabhai Chale Amerika, the third sequel to the much acclaimed Munnabhai MBBS (2003).[7]
Warsi has made a mark for himself on the small screen as well. He hosted a popular award show Sabse Favourite Kaun for STAR Gold. He was the host of Bigg Boss, Season 1, the Indian version of the reality television series Big Brother which was aired on Sony. He was also the co-host of a dance show Razzmatazz on Zee TV. He has also done a small cameo in a television show, Ishaan.
Warsi married Maria Goretti on 14 February 1999.[8] They have a son named Zeke Warsi, born on 10 August 2004. Both Maria and Zeke made a special appearance in Salaam Namaste. On 2 May 2007, the couple had a baby girl named Zene Zoe Warsi.[9] During his school days, Warsi was a national level gymnast.[10]

Saala Khud Marna Hai Toh Mar Na Doosre Ki Kayko Waat Lagata Hai
Paisa Waat Lagata Hai...
Hum Dono Dhakkanon Ko Aaj Ke Din He Paida Hona Tha
(Laakh Laakh Roz Aake Bas Jaate Hai
Iss Sheher Se Is Dil Laga Ke Phas Jaate Hai) 2
Sone Ki Raahon Mein Soone Ko Jaaga Nahi
Shola Hai Ya Hai Bijuriya Dil Ki Bajariya Bambai Nagariya 2
Yeh Bombay Hai Yaha Time Ka Matlab Hai Paisa Samjhe
Saala Khud Marna Hai Toh Mar Na
(Utar Jaaye Ragon Mein Jo Toh Teh Nasha Hai
Iski Aadat Jo Pad Gayi Toh Yeh Saza Hai) 2
Aise Bhar De Ke Khaali Kar De
Haa Re Pal Yeh Aise Jaga Hai
Thok Du Kya
Laakh Laakh Roz Aake Bas Jaate Hai
Is Sheher Is Dil Laga Ke Phas Jaate Hai
Sone Ki Raahon Mein Soone Ko Jaaga Nahi
Shola Hai Ya Hai Bijuriya Dil Ki Bajariya Bambai Nagariya 5
Sala Yaha Toh Footpath Bhi Housefull Hain

Yaari Hai Phoolon Se Meri Yari Hai
Pyari Hai Kali Bhi Mujhe Pyari Hai
Din Doobe Ya Shaam Dhale
Gate Hue Hum To Chale
Arey Yaari Hai Phoolon Se ......
Jab Hum Jhoome Amber Ghoome
Chalte Hai To Rahen Chale Saath Mein
Mastaane Humko Kya Gum
Rahti Hardam Manzil Mere Haath Mein
Arey Yaari Hai Phoolon Se ......
Aandhi Toofan Badal Bijli
Banke Tan Ke Rukte Nahin Hum Kahin
Duniya Mein To Jo Hai Ab Hai
Apna Sab Hai Kal Humne Dekha Nahin
Arey Yaari Hai Phoolon Se ......
Dil Mein Ho Tum
Ankhoon Mein Tum
Bolo Tumhe Kaise Chahoon
Pooja Karoon Sajada Karoon
Jaise Kaho Waise Chahoon
Jaanam Meri Jaanam Jaane Ya Na Jaanam
Akela Hoon Main Akela
Tumhe Phir Dil Ne Pukaraa
Tumhari Yaaden Satayen
Nahi Hai Koi Hamara
Duniya Ke Gham
Sehta Hoon Main
Birhaa Ke Gham Seh Na Paaoon
Jaanam Mere Jaanam Jaane Ya Na Jaanam
Hamesha Dekha Yahi Hai
Milan Ke Sang Hai Judaai
Shayad Woh Hoga Deewana
Chahat Hai Jisne Banai
Chahe Jalu Chahe Maro
Phir Bhi Tere Gham Mein Gaaun
Jaanam Meri Jaanam Jaane Ya Na Jaanam
Dil Mein Ho Tum
Ankhoon Mein Tum
Bolo Tumhe Kaise Chahoon
Pooja Karoon Sajada Karoon
Jaise Kaho Waise Chahoon
Jaanam Meri Jaanam Jaane Ya Na Jaanam
Ek Baar Kaho Mujhe Pyar Karte Ho Karte Ho
Main Tumhe Mein Tumse Kya Kahoon
Ek Baar Kaho Mujhe Pyar Karte Ho
Aankhen Chura Lo
Khud Ko Chupa Lo
Chup Sakoge Kahan
Dil Se Na Khelo
Chaho To Le Lo
Pyar Ka Imtihan
Main Tumhe, Main Tumse Kya Kahon
Ek Baar Kaho Mujhe Pyar Karte Ho
Ye Jo Ghadi Hain
Zid Pe Adi Hai
Hai Badoon Badguman
Zid Apni Chodo
Dil Ko Na Todo
Pyar Se Kah Do Haan
Haan Main Tumhe, Main Tumse Pyar Karti Hoon

Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
Mujh Ko Har Ghadi Didaar Chaahiye
Tumhaara Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
Mere Siva Tum Aur Kisi Ko, Dil Mein Na Aane Dogi
Phuulon Ki To Baat Hi Kya Hai, Kaanton Ke Saath Chalogi
Tumhaara Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
Din Raat Vafa Ka Iqaraar Chaahiye
Tumhaara Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
Ruup Rang Pe Marata Aayaa, Sadiyon Se Yah Zamaana
Main Man Ki Sundarata Dekhuun, Pyaar Ka Main Divaana
Tumhaara Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
Tuufaan Mein Baahon Ki Patavaar Chaahiye
Tumhaara Pyaar Chaahiye Mujhe Jine Ke Liye
