Vassos Alexander Georgiades is a BBC sports reporter, presenter and commentator. He can currently be heard on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on BBC Radio 2. He also reports for BBC Radio 5 Live, primarily commentating on golf, darts and tennis as well as occasionally presenting 5 live Sport.
Before joining Radio 2, Alexander presented the sport on the 5live Breakfast Programme for three years, during which time he went to the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and two Ryder Cups - as well as several Open Golf Championships, Wimbledon, the Australian and French Open tennis, Ashes cricket Tests and to a Champions League final. He replaced the ill Tony Green at the 2011 BDO World Darts Championship and returned the following year in a three-man rotation with Green and David Croft. He has remained a Lakeside commentator ever since.
Alexander was born and brought up in South West London. He currently lives in Barnes, with his wife, Caroline, and three children, Emily,Matthew and Mary. He enjoys running and speaks five languages (English, Greek, French, Russian, German). Vassos supports Stoke City.
Andrew Barron "Andy" Murray OBE (born 15 May 1987) is a Scottish professional tennis player, currently ranked World No. 2. He started playing tennis at the age of three, entered his first competitive tournament at age five and was playing league tennis by the time he was eight. He has reached at least the quarter-finals of all Grand Slam tournaments he has participated in since 2011, with the exception of the 2015 US Open. When he was 15, he moved to Barcelona to train at the Sánchez-Casal Academy. He won the junior US Open in 2004 and turned professional the following year. Murray has been ranked as British No. 1 since 27 February 2006. He achieved a top-10 ranking by the ATP for the first time on 16 April 2007, and reached a career peak of World No. 2 on 17 August 2009.
