Bo' Selecta! was a British adult sketch show written and performed by Leigh Francis, that lampooned popular culture and was known for its often surreal, abstract toilet humour.
Bo' Selecta! was broadcast on Channel 4 and ran for three series between 2002 and 2004, spawning several spin-offs. Francis played central character Avid Merrion, a dangerously insane stalker, who is obsessed with celebrities and tracks them down. The show consists of sketches involving various celebrities, portrayed by Francis in a latex mask. The most popular sketches involve entertainers such as Elton John, David Blaine, Kelly Osbourne, Michael Jackson, Mel B and central character Craig David. Avid Merrion would appear in his own sketches placed throughout each episode. Another recurring character on the show played by Francis is "the Bear", a perverted teddy bear who interviews (real, as opposed to portrayed) celebrity guests, where he will make them read a bedtime story to him. Each story starts off the same way and ends with the celebrity (usually female) performing a sexual act, causing the Bear to have an erection.
I'm so rushed off my feet
Looking for gordon street
so much i need to say
i'm sorry that it's on your wedding day
co's she's so right for me
her daddy dissagrees
he's always hated me
becuase i never got J-O-B
co's she's mine
i'm glad i crashed the wedding
it's better than reggreting
i could have been a loser kid who ran away and hid
i said i'd do it and i did
true love last forever
and now were back together
he might aswell forget her
and walk away
i'm glad i trashed the wedding
the neighbours spread the word
my mum she cried she heard
i'd stole my girl away
from everyone who tried to steal her away
co's she's mine
i'm glad i crashed the wedding
it's better than reggreting
i could have been a loser kid who ran away and hid
i'd said i'd do it and i did
it's true were back together
and now i love her better
he might aswell forget her
and walk away
