Las próteas son plantas arbustivas pertenecientes a la familia de las proteáceas y procedentes principalmente de África del Sur y Australia. Dentro de esta familia, podemos distinguir tres géneros: Leucospermum, Protea y Leucadendron, que son los que en la actualidad se cultivan en la Isla de La Palma. Entre las características mas importantes que nos ofrece esta flor tenemos: Floración en la época de otoño - invierno que es cuando escasean otras flores, y larga duración de la flor una vez cortada.

This is my project. I go by Serena Toxicat, and as it has no defined genre, I call Protea, "Black Catwave mewsic." The track you are hearing and watching features Tara Ntula, my most reliable special guest/member, on keys. The director and videographer is Anastasia Kuba. The video editor is Sabrina Wong. This is our first music video! We shot in Northern California at Isis Oasis, at Temple of Bast, Divine Feline, at parks outlying Sausalito and Stinson beach in San Francisco. Into the Waves appears on Going Forth by Night, our latest album, which features vocals recorded in the King's Chamber of Khufu. (Protea's primary focus is Ancient Egyptian themed devotional/ritual music, electronic with the occasional addition of theremin, saz, or other strings. After my Grandma died a group of us returned to her protea farm to pick flowers for her funeral. We all have so many fond memories of her and her farm. It was very bittersweet being back there. The King Protea is the national flower of South Africa and the emblem of some South African sports teams. A deeper symbolism is created through the floral motif as a sign for the blossoming of the country and its people. The mechanism created by Xavier Clarisse allows viewers to interact with the sculpture, moving it through the stages from birth to full life and back again. The opening and the closing the Protea also represents the iris of the human eye or the aperture of a camera - a reference to the fact that the stadium is to be the centre of global media attention.
