Climbing Scafell Pike - England's Highest Point
I climb Scafell Pike the highest point in England. Scafell Pike is part of the Cumbrian Mountains and is found in the Lake District National Park. At 3209 ft (978 m) Scafell Pike is a mildly challenging climb that you can do in a day with multiple choices of ascent and descent.

Lord's Rake, Scafell & Scafell Pike - 17 April 2011
A 10 mile walk starting from Seathwaite taking in Lord's Rake, Scafell and Scafell Pike From Seathwaite we crossed Stockley Bridge to Styhead Gill leading to Styhead Tarn. From here we headed towards Scafell Pike via the "Corridor Route". Before reaching the summit we turned to Mickledore before climbing Lord's Rake smothered in mist. After Lord's Rake we reached Scafell's summit and then descended via Foxes Tarn. A steep climb back to Mickledore and then onto the summit of Scafell Pike before returning to Seathwaite via Esk Hause. The walk took just over 8 hours and was strenuous.

Ascent of Scafell Pike from Wasdale via Mickledore
This was our ascent of Scafell Pike in the Lake District, the highest mountain in England (978M/3210FT), on Saturday 18th September 2010. Starting from the car park at Wasdale Head and then via Lingmell Gill and Mickledore. The weather and views were fantastic during the climb but the summit could hardly be called quiet as there was a fell running race on! The winner did it in something like 49 minutes - both directions! We took a little longer... Filmed with a Kodak Playsport camera.

Scafell Pike - Air Traffic Controller
A-side of this 7" released on Mercury in 1979. The 7" contains some very nice sound effects which are not included on the album with the same name released in 1980. Artwork of this album is showned in the video. The pictures could be from the old ESSB TWR (but I'm not sure...).

Scafell Pike Mountain Summit, Approach & Lake District Views.
From Wasdale Head, we walked via Brown Tongue. Approx 3000ft of ascent, 3.5 miles. 'The Tourist Route' seemed like a good idea & we had great weather resulting in these views. We crossed Lingmell Beck & headed for Hollow Stones to reach the summit. Wast Water is clearly seen during the ascent. Dropping Crag, Pikes Crag, Pulpit Rock, Scafell Crag & the path toward Mickledore are seen. The summit views are extensive & if you look hard enough you can see the following: Causey Pike, Binsey, Dale Head, Ullock Pike, Long Side, Skiddaw, Skiddaw Little Man, Knott, Longscale Fell, High Pike, Derwent Water, Maiden Moor, Base Brown, Seathwaite Fell, Grange Fell, Styhead Tarn, Blencathra, Bleaberry Fell, High Seat, Raven Crag, Clough Head, Great Dodd, Great End, Broad Crag, Sergeant's Crag, Ullscraf, Stbarrow Dodd, Sticks Pass, Raise, White Side, Helvellyn Lower Man, Helvellyn, Nethermost Pike, Dollywagon Pike, St Sunday Crag, Red Crag, Fairfield, High Raise, Hart Crag, Kidsky Pike, Sergeant Man, High Street, Thornthwaite Crag, Harter Fell, Harrison Stickle, Kentmere Pike, Ill Bell, Red Screes, Ill Crag, Esk Pike, Pike 'O Stickle, Yoke, Loft Crag, Garbon Pass, Sallows, Sour Howes, Bowfell, Lingmoor Fell, Crinkle Crags, Wetherlam, Black Sails, Swirl Hawse, Great Carrs, Swirl How, Grey Friar, Brim Fell, Coniston Old Man, Goats Hawse, Dow Crag, Buck Pike, Brown Pike, Duddon Valley, Walna Scar, Hardknott, Harter Fell, Stickle Pike, Green Crag, Eskdale, Slight Side, Scafell, (East ...

Scafell Pike 2010 Sylvan The Journey man.mpg
Sylvan, Anjum and Allan trekking up Scafell Pike 12/6/2010. Started 11.50am. The weather was definitely on our side with the sun and breeze flowing freely up the valley. Really beautiful views as you look out to the Irish sea. We took several much needed rest breaks and reached the summit at a respectable time of 3.00pm. Brilliant day and I salute all those who have completed this journey, it truly is a challenge in its own right.

PREVIEW: We climb Scafell Pike!
As part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, me, my dad (Whispering Bob Harris) and a whole load of other people (including Nell McAndrew!) climbed Scafell Pike for Cancer Research UK, and lit a beacon of hope at the top just before the jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace. Over the next few weeks I will be posting a weekly video diary from the climb! Make sure to keep coming back- its a pretty epic journey! Including a mountain rescue team being called at 4.30am... PLEASE LIKE/SUBSCRIBE! That would be awesome, and I would love you forever :) DISCLAIMER: All publishing and copyright for the track used belongs to Polydor and Take That.
