Short Mystery Story Collection Vol. 001 (Audio Book) Short Mystery Story Collection 001: a collection of 10 short works of mysterious fiction in the public domain read by a group of LibriVox members.
1932 directed by Henry McRae starring Frank Albertson, Ernie Nevers, Cecilia Parker, Caryl Lincoln with Francis Ford, J. Frank Glendon and Frank Beal. Early Universal serial directed by Canadian film pioneer, Henry Macrae, concerns a stolen train, gold and two college students who battle the bad guys. From a story by Arthur Conan Doyle. The serial changes the location from England to the American West and does not include the character of Sherlock Holmes. Good serial with impressive, live-action car and boat chases (as opposed to rear-screen projection) and action on top the moving locomotive. The source was terrible quality. I did what I could with it.

Occasionally, there might be a change in the schedule, but on the whole a consistent time-slot was something that helped build a large audience and so was something the big networks aimed to achieve. One exception to this rule was the dramatic adventure anthology series called Escape, whose time-slot shifted an incredible eighteen times in its seven-year run from 1947 through to 1954. To make matters even worse it had a habit of coming and going and sometimes disappearing off the schedules altogether at short notice for weeks on end only to resurface weeks later in a completely different timeslot...

One of the premier drama programs of the Golden Age of Radio, was subtitled "radio's outstanding theater of thrills" and focused on suspense thriller-type scripts, usually featuring leading Hollywood actors of the era. Approximately 945 episodes were broadcast during its long run, and more than 900 still exist. Suspense went through several major phases, characterized by different hosts, sponsors, and director/producers. Formula plot devices were followed for all but a handful of episodes: the protagonist was usually a normal person suddenly dropped into a threatening or bizarre situation; solutions were "withheld until the last possible second"; and evildoers were usually punished in the end. In its early years, the pr...

Oh well,
From my parked car window on the passenger side,
She be leanin' over to me tellin' me I can't rely on anything in this world,
With the tear drops fallin' from her fake green eyes and the makeup runnin',
I believe in every lie over and over again,
Break me until I bend,
She is so crazy,
She is so far above,
She know when I will need it so,
She treats me with her love,
Forever's not long (forever's not long),
Tomorrow's too far away,
She gives me what I needed so,
I give her what she takes,
She is the special for my pain,
I need the special for my pain…
Do whatever you want,
Yeah I'm gonna do whatever I want…
With the street lights hummin' under starlit skies,
She be runnin' to her cousins tellin' him you can't rely,
On turnin' boys to men (bitch),
And so she shows me lovin' and I free my mind,
With the lovin' isn't lovin' in a state is all she finds,
So she calls it romance,
Baby that's the dance,
She is so crazy (she is so crazy),
She is so far above,
She know when I will need it so,
She treats me with her love,
Forever's not long (forever's not long),
Tomorrow's too far away,
She gives me what I needed so,
I give her what she takes,
She is the special for my pain,
I need the special for my pain…
Put it over here baby…
That's right,
Ooh yeah…
She is so crazy (she is so crazy),
She is so far above,
She know when I will need it so,
She treats me with her love (she treats me with her love),
Forever's not long (forever's not long),
Tomorrow's too far away,
She gives me what I needed (yeah she gives me what I needed) so,
I give her what she takes,
She is the special for my pain,
I need the special for my pain,
For my pain (for my pain),
For my pain (for my pain baby),
Once more gimme what I need,
You know I think about you all the time,
Don't even sweat me like that,
I'll take what I want,
You take what you want,
