Trashigang Festival Tsechu in Bhutan
Tsechus, a mask dance festivals, are one of the most colorful festivals in Bhutan. During the tsechus, Thongdrol, large scroll paintings of deities and saints which have the power to liberate people from sin that they had committed just by seeing it are unfurled for public. The word throngdel means liberation on sight and people form long queues to receive blessings by touching their heads against the bottom of the thangkha. Video by Bhutan Excursion www.bhutantour.bt

Trashi Gang Kheri sweet family memories.
Every family has a story that it tells itself, that it passes on to the children and grandchildren. The story grows over the years, mutates, some parts are sharpened, others dropped, and there is often debate about what really happened. But even with these different sides of the same story, there is still agreement that this is the family story. And in the absence of other narratives, it becomes the flagpole that the family hangs its identity from. There is an interconnectedness among members that bonds the family, much like mountain climbers who rope themselves together when climbing a mountain, so that if someone should slip or need support, he's held up by the others until he regains his footing. The family is both the fundamental unit of society as well as the root of culture. It is a perpetual source of encouragement, advocacy, assurance, and emotional refueling that empowers a child to venture with confidence into the greater world and to become all that he can be."No matter what you've done for yourself or for humanity, if you can't look back on having given love and attention to your own family, what have you really accomplished? In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.

Amazing Most Difficult Landing with AirBus A320 - Paro - Bhutan Must Watch
en.wikipedia.org Airport (IATA: PBH, ICAO: VQPR) is the only international airport of Bhutan. The airport is located 6 km (3.7 mi) from Paro in a deep valley on the bank of the river Paro Chhu at an elevation of 7300 ft (2200 m). With surrounding peaks as high as 18000 ft (5500 m) it is considered one of the world's most challenging airports,[1] and as of October 2009, only eight pilots in the world are certified to land at the airport.[2] Flights at Paro are allowed under visual meteorological conditions only and are restricted to daylight hours from sunrise to sunset.[3] Bathpalathang Airport in Bumthang district and Yongphulla Airport in Trashigang District are two other airports in the country.[4] The Royal Bhutanese Government's 10th Five Year Plan (which covers 2008--2013) includes the building of one more domestic airport at Gelephu in Sarpang District.[5] The second international airport project, which was planned for construction at the Gelephu site, was downgraded to a domestic airport project in October 2008.[6] The Bhutanese Department of Civil Aviation indicated in January 2010, that the domestic airport at Gelephu may have provisions to be expanded into an 'all weather' airport, capable of receiving international traffic in the future. Construction is due to start in late 2010, with the airport due to start operations in June 2011.[7][8]
