How to list the files in UNIX or Linux ?
Options of the ls command in Linux
----------------------------------
-1 list one file per line
-a do not ignore entries starting with . ( dot )
-h with -l, print sizes in human readable format (e.g., 1K 2M 2G)
-l use a long listing format
-p append directory indicator to directories
-r reverse order while sorting
-R list subdirectories recursively
-S sort by file size
-t sort by modification time, newest first
-F append indicator (one of */=@|) to entries
@ means symbolic link (or that the file has extended attributes).
* means executable file.
= means socket file.
| means named pipe ( FIFO )
/ means directory.

How to list the files in UNIX or Linux ?
Options of the ls command in Linux
----------------------------------
-1 list one file per line
-a do not ignore entries starting with . ( dot )
-h with -l, print sizes in human readable format (e.g., 1K 2M 2G)
-l use a long listing format
-p append directory indicator to directories
-r reverse order while sorting
-R list subdirectories recursively
-S sort by file size
-t sort by modification time, newest first
-F append indicator (one of */=@|) to entries
@ means symbolic link (or that the file has extended attributes).
* means executable file.
= means socket file.
| means named pipe ( FIFO )
/ means directory.
