Pacific Division may refer to:
The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth's oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Southern Ocean (or, depending on definition, to Antarctica) in the south and is bounded by Asia and Australia in the west and the Americas in the east.
At 165.25 million square kilometers (63.8 million square miles) in area, this largest division of the World Ocean—and, in turn, the hydrosphere—covers about 46% of the Earth's water surface and about one-third of its total surface area, making it larger than all of the Earth's land area combined.
The equator subdivides it into the North Pacific Ocean and South Pacific Ocean, with two exceptions: the Galápagos and Gilbert Islands, while straddling the equator, are deemed wholly within the South Pacific. The Mariana Trench in the western North Pacific is the deepest point in the world, reaching a depth of 10,911 metres (35,797 ft).
The eastern Pacific Ocean was first sighted by Europeans in the early 16th century when Spanish explorer Vasco Núñez de Balboa crossed the Isthmus of Panama in 1513 and discovered the great "southern sea" which he named Mar del Sur. The ocean's current name was coined by Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan during the Spanish circumnavigation of the world in 1521, as he encountered favourable winds on reaching the ocean. He called it Mar Pacifico, which in both Portuguese and Spanish means "peaceful sea".
The National Hockey League (NHL; French: Ligue nationale de hockey—LNH) is a professional ice hockey league composed of 30 member clubs: 23 in the United States and 7 in Canada. Headquartered in New York City, the NHL is considered to be the premier professional ice hockey league in the world, and one of the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. The Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America, is awarded annually to the league playoff champion at the end of each season.
The National Hockey League was organized on November 26, 1917, in Montreal, Quebec, after the suspension of operations of its predecessor organization, the National Hockey Association (NHA), which had been founded in 1909 in Renfrew, Ontario. The NHL immediately took the NHA's place as one of the leagues that contested for the Stanley Cup in an annual interleague competition before a series of league mergers and folds left the NHL as the only league left competing for the Stanley Cup in 1926. The NHL started with four teams (all based in Canada) and, through a series of expansions, contractions and relocations, is now composed of 30 active franchises. The "nation" referred to by the league's name was Canada, although the league has now been binational since 1924 when its first team in the United States, the Boston Bruins, began play. After a labour-management dispute that led to the cancellation of the entire 2004–05 season, the league resumed play under a new collective agreement that included a salary cap. In 2009, the NHL enjoyed record highs in terms of sponsorships, attendance, and television audiences.

Part three of a four-part series where I talk about changes I would like to see NHL teams make to their jerseys - as well as predictions for which teams I think may get new uniforms for the 2017-18 NHL season.
The gentlemen gather for yet another off-season podcast. It seems as though they've taken a kind liking to not having Greg around, things really flow freely without him constricting them to just talking hockey. The boys have now gone where they do not belong, to spoil movies for others. In the midst of the banter they breakdown the pacific division, discuss the new NHL jersey deal and how it could eventually lead to having advertisements on them. Warning - strong language used, sorry for the obscenities but we are Canadian. In Canada there are three languages spoken - English, French and Hockey. Originally posted February 3, 2016. Both our hosts were pleasantly surprised by the 2016 NHL All-Star Game. We discuss the Pacific Division win, the new 3 on 3 format, and what changes we’d like to see to the game/weekend in the future. As the league gets back to regular season play after a short break we look back at the last 2 games the Flames played before the break and look ahead at the upcoming games for the week and what Dennis Wideman’s fate will be after his hearing. The Stockton Heat unveiled a black alternate uniform, modelled after the Calgary Flames jersey design. Will a black uniform see the light of day in Calgary next season? All this and more in our post all-star break episode.
It's Game 4 of the western conference first round or Pacific division semifinal between the ducks and the flames from Calgary. The ducks are looking for a sweep to moving on to semifinals, the flames win or bye-bye is part of brink of elimination. We will find out next on the PlayStation sports network
The Anaheim Ducks didn't make any major moves when the NHL trade deadline came. They have gone 3-2-0 since then and are battling it out with Calgary and Edmonton for second and third place in the Pacific Division. On this show we talk about the Ducks chances of finishing the season strong and how far will they go in the playoffs. The Ducks just got back John Gibson from injury and Antoine Vermette from suspension. The question is will a healthy Ducks team with just the addition of Patrick Eaves be enough for the Ducks to make a deep run this postseason?
The Los Angeles Kings are a professional ice hockey team based in Los Angeles, California. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League .The team was founded on February 9, 1966, when Jack Kent Cooke was awarded an NHL expansion franchise for Los Angeles, becoming one of the six teams that began play as part of the 1967 NHL expansion. The Kings called The Forum in Inglewood, California , their home for thirty-two years until they moved to the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles to start the 1999–2000 season. ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- About the author(s): Resolute License: Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 (CC BY-SA 3.0) License Url: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0 Author(s): Resolute (https://commons....
The boys discussed how the NHL learned this past week that you can't find loopholes around rules like it can, and it lashed out. John Scott, despite being traded to the Montreal Canadiens, will be the captain of the pacific division all stars! Other talking points of the podcast include Jonathan Drouin's trade tracker, a future NHL playoffs where conferences don't matter and to cap it all off, hashtags for the 2016 NHL draft.
