Li Chengpeng (Chinese: 李承鹏; pinyin: Lǐ Chéngpéng, born in 1968) is a prominent writer and social critic in the People's Republic of China. Well known in China for his reportage and social commentary—Li's Sina Weibo blog has nearly six million followers[1]—Li made international headlines in 2011 when he announced that he would seek political office as an independent candidate in his hometown of Chengdu, Sichuan province. While not technically illegal, the decision represented a rare and bold move in a country where candidates for political office are typically appointed by the Communist Party of China.
Li, nicknamed "Li Big Eyes", began his career as a journalist and first rose to prominence for covering on corruption within China's professional soccer establishment. Li later coauthored a book on the subject, Chinese Soccer: The Inside Story, which documented allegations of pervasive match-fixing involving coaches, players, referees and officials. The book asserted that nearly every professional Chinese soccer player had faced varying degrees of pressure or coercion by gambling syndicates to participate in fixing games.[3] He says his coverage of the issue prompted persistent and anonymous threats against he and his family.[2]
His profile grew in the aftermath of the 2008 Sichuan earthquake. Having experienced the tremors in his apartment in Chengdu, Li committed himself to assisting in rescue efforts in the areas most severely impacted.[4] He traveled to the Sichaun earthquake region as a volunteer and wrote an essay: The True Story of the Miracle Survival of the Students and Teachers of Longhan Elementary School in Beichuan. He recently published a novel titled, Li Kele Protests Demolitions, took a critical look at forced demolitions in China.[5]
In 2010, Li announced he would be running as an independent candidate to serve in the People's Congress of Wuhou district, Chengdu.[2] Although China's constitution protects the rights of any citizens over the age of 18 to vote and run for local election, in practice these positions are generally filled by Communist Party-appointed candidates. Individuals who attempt to run as independents or self-nominated candidates sometimes face repercussions.[6] A number of prominent cultural figures, writers, and academics endorsed Li's candidacy including blogger Han Han, film director Feng Xiaogang, and legal scholar Yu Jianrong and He Weifang.[7]

Just took the title Zhang Xiaogang, enjoy quite a reputation of the painter is a little vague impression, to finish the program, see Zhang Xiaogang album, see more feel more profound, can always see something new. He always ask the continuation of life forms in his works, which implies a history of life and death, time and the concept of more mature cognition. The disclosed an article as he later on the painter Margaret in that way: " an artist in his growth process, to constantly and some have been infatuated with the master very reluctantly, and then again to know others communicate predecessors. In this article we continue to verify their cognition on the road, finally can become a ' friend ', has become less and less. " From here, I saw after the maturity of the Zhang Xiaogang heart of that kind of loneliness, which also seems to understand, why would he salvage those old photographs of history, and its processing drowsy causes.
Zhang Xiaogang, born in 1958 in Yunnan Province, Kunming, graduated from Sichuan Fine Art Institute in 1982; currently lives and works in Beijing.
Participated in many domestic and international art exhibition, works at home and abroad a number of art museums, galleries, and private collections. The best embodiment of his works is contemporary art Yun sophisticated Chinese context.
Begin from ninety time metaphase, he uses profiling portrait of modern Chinese pop art style in the age of revolution, to convey the meaning of the collective psychology of memory and emotion. The typical presentation and Simulation of the social, collective and family, blood this is one kind of deduction, is from the point of view of art, emotion and life view, which has a strong contemporary significance; in 1997 was awarded the club Coutts International Art Fund in Asia when the generation of artists.
