High Weald - Meadows Weed Management
In traditional meadows and pastures occasional weeds such as docks and thistles are not usually a problem and are part of a natural balanced mix of wildflowers. However sometimes weed control is necessary and this video gives guidance on the timing and methods of targeted weed control. Remember, blanket spraying will eradicate all species, not just the weeds. The making of this video was supported by the European Lifescape project. High Weald in TV programme Inside Out
The High Weald is a valuable historic landscape in the densely populated south east of England and an essentially rural area in the vicinity of London. The landscape still looks medieval and that is one of the reasons why the High Weald is protected as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and that its natural beauty and its historic character are enhanced.
