Nick Roux (born December 13, 1990) is an American actor, singer and musician. He is best known for his role as Billy, the punk and Jane's best friend in the ABC Family series Jane by Design, and Disney Channel Original Movie hit, Lemonade Mouth.^[1]

India de Beaufort (born India Beaufort Lloyd; 27 June 1987) is a British actress and singer-songwriter whose appearances include roles in Basil Brush and Run Fatboy Run. She played Aneka, a pagan warrior maiden, in the 2009 series Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. She starred as Miranda during the seventh season of One Tree Hill in 2009/2010.

Beaufort was born in Kingston Hospital, Kingston upon Thames, Surrey.^[1][2] Her mother is Karen de Beaufort, born in Liverpool in 1959 and her father is Nick Lloyd born in London in 1959. Both of her parents were in the entertainment industry as dancers during the 1970s and 1980s appearing in many British TV shows. She has an older brother, Thomas Beaufort Lloyd (born 1983).

India began performing at a very young age, starting out with performances in music videos for artists such as Lulu's "Every woman knows", in 1994. She had a brief appearance as an orphan in an episode of Penelope Keith's Next of Kin and made a guest appearance in the BBC's 1998 Dance with The Teletubbies credited under her birth name, India Beaufort Lloyd.

Spending much of her childhood backstage watching her father perform in musical theatre productions such as Starlight Express and Beyond the Rainbow, and following her mother, dancer turned choreographer turned commercial agent, led both India and her brother Tom, to follow in their parents footsteps.^{[citation needed]}

In 2002, aged 15, she signed to Entertainment Rights as a singer and actress. She was then cast as a principal character in the BAFTA nominated The Basil Brush Show as India Beau. She went on to shoot three seasons with the show, and also performed as a featured artist on the Christmas single "Boom Boom, its Basil Brush". The song remained in the UK charts for three weeks at position 44.^[3]

During her time with the cast of Basil she performed the single at the Proms in the Park event in Hyde Park in front of over 30,000 people. She took part in a nationwide tour, and went on to work with Entertainment Rights as a solo artist and songwriter. In 2005, aged 18, she parted ways with the company and ventured out on her own, continuing to write and record. At this time she also signed to a commercial agent, and went on to travel worldwide shooting ad campaigns for companies such as Clean & Clear, Camelot Group, Duru,^[4] Osem, and Sony Ericsson.^[5]

In 2006 India performed in the music video for Katie Melua's "It's Only Pain", as Katie's body double. At the age of 19, India landed her first supporting role in a movie, as Maya in Simon Pegg's Run Fatboy Run, directed by David Schwimmer. She has said in many interviews that this production switched her path from singer to actress.^[6]

At this point, India has said that she decided to take time out to train, and learn her craft, taking classes in Actors Studios in both London and Los Angeles. During this time India was asked to face a new makeup line, Me by Mezhgan, in the U.S., created by the head of American Idol's make up department, Mezhgan Hussainy.^[7]

At the age of 21 India began shooting her first series regular role as the pagan warrior Aneka in BBC/Comedy Centrals Kröd Mändoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire. The comedy was shot in Budapest, Hungary.^[8] She joined the cast of One Tree Hill to play Miranda Stone during the seventh season of The CW series, which premiered on September 14th 2009.

At the end of 2010 India was cast in the ABC Family pilot "Jane By Design" as "India Jourdain".

In 2011, she guest starred in the episode "Chuck vs Agent X" for the TV series Chuck.

Jane by Design (formerly known as What Would Jane Do) is a comedy-drama television series on ABC Family.^[1] The series follows the life of Jane Quimby (Erica Dasher), a teenager who had to be mistaken for an adult to finally get her fashion dream job and work with a world-famous designer, Gray Chandler Murray (Andie McDowell). She is now juggling between two secret lives: one in high school, and one in high fashion. The network green-lighted the series in April 2011.^[1] The series premiered on January 3, 2012, following Switched at Birth.^[2] On February 29, 2012, the series was given an 8-episode back order, slated to premiere on June 5, 2012.^[3]

Jane Quimby, (Erica Dasher) is a teenager who is mistaken for an adult and lands a job in a hip fashion house. She must balance her high school life and her job. She has her best friend Billy (Nick Roux) help her out, although he has a relationship with Lulu (Meagan Tandy), a girl who has been mean to Jane since the seventh grade. Jane's father died and her mother has run away unbeknowingst where to Jane and Ben. Her brother Ben (David Clayton Rogers) tries to make money by getting jobs, but the jobs never work out until he lands a job as the athletic assistant at Jane's school. At Donovan Decker Jane discovers a word full of fashion challenges working for Gray Chandler Murray (Andie MacDowell) and tackles them with the help of her co-workers, Jeremy Jones, (Rowley Dennis), India Jourdain (India de Beaufort), Carter (Ser'Darius Blain) and Birdie (Brooke Lyons). Jane tries to be the best at her job and her school, juggling the everyday challenges of high school and the world of fashion.

• Erica Dasher as Jane Quimby, a high-school student who is also a personal assistant to fashion designer Gray. Jane has a brother Ben, and after their father's death, he is made her guardian. Beside Ben, Jane has Billy in her life as her best friend, with whom she shares all her secrets. Jane has been shown to have crushes on Nick Fadden and Jeremy Jones.
• Nick Roux as Billy Nutter, a punk and Jane's best friend. Billy had a secret physical relationship with "it girl" Lulu, but ends it after realizing that she doesn't want to go public with it. He later starts dating Lulu publicly, much to Jane's dismay. But at the moment are broken up after he was publically called trash (along with his brother) at a party, held by Nick Fadden, and Lulu made no move to defend him. He left the party with his brother while Lulu stayed. In the mid-season finale, Billy had tried to reveals his feelings toward Jane telling her "It's you, Janey" but was interrupted by Jeremy.
• Rowly Dennis portrays Jeremy Jones, Jane's coworker and a "ladies' man". He has been shown to like Jane. He was seeing India, but later broke it off after she stole Jane's wedding gown design. In the mid-season finale, it was revealed that Jeremy was the mole hired by Beau to steal Donovan Decker's designs.
• David Clayton Rogers as Ben Quimby, Jane's elder brother. After the death of their father, he becomes Jane's guardian. He works at Jane's high school as the assistant athletic director and is friends with Rita Shaw, who he knew in high school but wasn't friends with at the time. He realizes his feelings for Rita on the High School Camping Trip when he comes to odds with another teacher who has set his sights on Rita.
• India de Beaufort as India Jourdain, Jane's pretentious colleague. She always tries to sabotage Jane and steal Gray's job. But many times she does show true emotion and kindness only to rebuff it with her bad attitude. In the mid-season finale, she is wrongfully accused of being the mole in Donovan Decker, and fired by Gray.
• Meagan Tandy as Lulu Pope, daughter of a judge and an It girl of the high school. She seems to like Billy, but wants to keep her relationship with him a secret. She later decides to go public with their relationship, but still feels embarrassed over their relationship. She is rather hostile towards Jane and shows jealousy of Jane and Billy's friendship.
• Matthew Atkinson as Nick Fadden, Jane's schoolgirl crush since the seventh grade. He does, however seem to show interest in Jane, even going as far as ask Billy and Ben's advice on approaching her.
• Andie MacDowell as Gray Chandler Murray, a world-famous fashion designer at Donovan Decker, and Jane's boss. She's very strict and straightforward, and is certain India wants to steal her job. Although she is defined as a heartless woman, she does acknowledge Jane's value as her assistant on occasion.

Erica Dasher is an American actress. She currently stars as Jane Quimby, the titular character in the ABC Family series Jane by Design.

Early life[link]

Dasher attended Village School on the west side of Houston, Texas and moved on to Westside High School, where she graduated in 2004.^[1] She attended the University of Southern California, studying theater with the intention to become a filmmaker and producer.^[1]

Career[link]

Dasher co-starred as Madison in The WB.com web series The Lake. Dasher is also a film producer. She along with Sami Kriegstein formed the production company Not Just Dead Bodies in 2007.^[2] Together they produced documentary film Double Speak during a break from university.^[1] The film was produced in 2009 and is awaiting release.^[3]

Dasher broke her ankle prior to auditioning for the ABC Family series Jane by Design. She got the role and by the time the pilot was being filmed she was still wearing a protective boot, so a body double was required in some shots.^[1]

Dasher also worked as a production assistant on the film Reservations in 2008.^[2]
