Delbert Martin Shofner (born December 11, 1934) is a former American football wide receiver who played for eleven seasons with the Los Angeles Rams and the New York Giants from 1957 to 1967 in the National Football League. Shofner was a five-time consensus All-Pro and Pro Bowler in 1958, 1959, and from 1961 to 1963. He led the NFL in receiving yards in 1958 with a total of 1,097 and finished second in that category in both 1959 and 1961 with totals of 936 and 1,125. In 1962, he finished second in receiving touchdowns with 12. Shofner's 1963 receiving yards total of 1,181 was his career-best and the third highest in the NFL that season.
Injuries and illness caused a decline in his effectiveness in 1964 and thereafter and he eventually was supplanted as the starting split end in the middle of the 1965 season. He retired after the 1967 NFL season.
Shofner played college football at Baylor University and was also a punter early in his professional football career.
In addition to football, Shofner played basketball, baseball, and was a sprinter while at Baylor. Shofner helped lead the Baylor Bears to a 13-7 victory over Tennessee in the 1957 Sugar Bowl.
A hall of fame is a structure housing memorials to famous or illustrious individuals in a certain field, usually chosen by a group of electors. The meaning of "fame" has changed over the years, originally meaning "renown" as opposed to today's more common meaning of "celebrity".
In some cases, these halls of fame consist of actual halls or museums which enshrine the honorees with sculptures, plaques, and displays of memorabilia and general information regarding the inducted recipient/s. Sometimes, the honorees' plaques may instead be posted on a wall (hence a '"wall of fame") or inscribed on a sidewalk (as in a "walk of fame" or an "avenue of fame"). In others, the hall of fame is more figurative and just simply consists of a list of names of noteworthy individuals (or sometimes groups, for ex. Sporting groups or Rock groups) maintained by an organization or community or honouring its inducted members legacy or legend.
The English-language term was popularised in the United States by the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at Bronx Community College, in New York City, completed in 1900. Its inspiration is the Ruhmeshalle ("Hall of Fame") in Munich, Germany. The Walhalla memorial in Bavaria, Germany, is an even earlier hall of fame, conceived in 1807 and built from 1900 to 1907.
The New York Giants are a professional American football team located in the New York metropolitan area. The Giants are members of the East Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The team plays its home games in East Rutherford, New Jersey at MetLife Stadium, which it shares with the New York Jets in a unique arrangement. The Giants hold their summer training camp at the Quest Diagnostics Training Center at the Meadowlands Sports Complex.
The Giants were one of five teams that joined the NFL in 1925, and is the only one of that group still existing, as well as the league's longest-established team in the Northeastern United States. The team ranks third among all NFL franchises with eight NFL titles: four in the pre–Super Bowl era (1927, 1934, 1938, 1956) and four since the advent of the Super Bowl (Super Bowls XXI (1986), XXV (1990), XLII (2007), and XLVI (2011)), along with more championship appearances than any other team, with 19 overall appearances. Their championship tally is surpassed only by the Green Bay Packers (13) and Chicago Bears (9). During their history, the Giants have featured 28 Hall of Fame players, including NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award winners Mel Hein, Frank Gifford, Y. A. Tittle, and Lawrence Taylor.
New York is a state in the Northeastern United States and is the United States' 27th-most extensive, fourth-most populous, and seventh-most densely populated state. New York is bordered by New Jersey and Pennsylvania to the south and Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont to the east. The state has a maritime border in the Atlantic Ocean with Rhode Island, east of Long Island, as well as an international border with the Canadian provinces of Quebec to the north and Ontario to the west and north. The state of New York, with an estimated 19.8 million residents in 2015, is often referred to as New York State to distinguish it from New York City, the state's most populous city and its economic hub.
With an estimated population of nearly 8.5 million in 2014, New York City is the most populous city in the United States and the premier gateway for legal immigration to the United States. The New York City Metropolitan Area is one of the most populous urban agglomerations in the world. New York City is a global city, exerting a significant impact upon commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, its fast pace defining the term New York minute. The home of the United Nations Headquarters, New York City is an important center for international diplomacy and has been described as the cultural and financial capital of the world, as well as the world's most economically powerful city. New York City makes up over 40% of the population of New York State. Two-thirds of the state's population lives in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and nearly 40% live on Long Island. Both the state and New York City were named for the 17th century Duke of York, future King James II of England. The next four most populous cities in the state are Buffalo, Rochester, Yonkers, and Syracuse, while the state capital is Albany.
Yelberton Abraham Tittle (born October 24, 1926), better known as Y. A. Tittle, is a former football quarterback in the National Football League and All-America Football Conference who played for the Baltimore Colts, San Francisco 49ers, and the New York Giants. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1971.
Born and raised in Marshall, Texas, Tittle played high school football at Marshall High School. He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and played quarterback for the LSU Tigers. As a junior, Tittle was named the MVP of the legendary 1947 Cotton Bowl, a scoreless tie in an ice storm between LSU and Arkansas.
Tittle was the sixth overall selection of the 1948 NFL Draft, taken by the Detroit Lions. He was the second quarterback drafted, following Bobby Layne of Texas (Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Lujack of Notre Dame was selected in the 1946 draft.) Tittle began his career with the Baltimore Colts of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) in 1948; the Colts joined the NFL in 1950, but became defunct after that season.

Why do athletes play the game? For some it is for the Glory, for most it’s the Money. For others it is the quest to win a Championship. In the end only the Best of the Best end up in their sport’s Hall of Fame. In this program we look at a particular athlete whose Hall of Fame selection committee have for one reason or another neglected to select, and begs us to slap our collective foreheads and exclaim… HELLO!? HALL OF FAME!! For the mostpart each Hall of Fame admittance is dictated by the media, and my hope is that these videos will help sway these voters to make a choice, the right choice. Hopefully they will help put these men and women where they rightfully belong, among the greatest to ever play the game. Name: Skyline Generator Media: Processing, Water color, Acrylic Marker Date: February 2014 Jesse Shofner ProjectOne Written By Jesse Shofner February 2014, University of Oregon I approached this project wanting to fullfill the requirements while also retaining depth. I feel that I accomplished depth within this assignment by meticulously hand creating classic skylines by combining water color and acrylic markers. The process included sketching out the skyline, giving it a fine line, water coloring the sky and water, then filling the silhouette. My idea was to take classic skylines, cut them up, and produce a randomly generated new skyline on every click. I used Photoshop to cut the images, but still had to resize them for processing. The different tones of water color were intentio...
