THE TYRONE MACHINE - GAA
This was one of the best GAA teams ever to come out of Tyrone and were a much superior team to Kerry beating them in the 2003, 2005 & 2008 All-Ireland series (although some misinformed analysts ie Pat Spillane considered otherwise). Tyrone have some of the most gifted and technically skilled players ever to play the game of Gaelic football. Tyrone also boasts one of the greatest managers and tactitions of the game in Mickey Harte and his management style and approach to the game has changed the way Gaelic football is played for good.

Stephen O'Neill Tribute: Tyrone GAA Legend
Stephen O'Neill (born 19 November 1980) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for the Tyrone Senior football team. He won three All-Ireland Senior Football Championship medals, two Under 21 medals, and a Minor medal. He was the 2005 Footballer of the Year. His style of play is quite traditional as a full forward, often getting on the end of passes, and scoring with his preferred left foot. It's his superior physical strength that sets him apart from his peers, coupled with his agility on the ball, making him very difficult to mark. O'Neill announced his retirement from the Tyrone Gaelic football team in January 2008,[1][2] but made himself available for the All-Ireland final of the same year. Tyrone won the competition, but O'Neill refused to accept the medal, citing the fact that he felt he hadn't earned it, having not been part of the team on their journey to the final.[3] Contents [hide] O'Neill is a primary school teacher at St. Patrick's Primary School in Gortin, County Tyrone.[4] He previously taught at St. Mary's Primary School in Bellaghy, County Londonderry. O'Neill married Phenah McSorley from Aghyaran, County Tyrone on 9 July 2009.[4] [edit] Playing career [edit] Youth Player O'Neill has had considerable success with Tyrone youth teams winning 2 Ulster and All-Ireland under 21 titles in 2000 and 2001 to add to his Ulster Minor championship medals in 1997 and 1998 and his All-Ireland minor championship in 1998. Peter Canavan - Tyrone GAA Legend
A tribute to God Peter Canavan (born 9 April 1971) is an Irish former Gaelic football player for Tyrone, and is one of the most decorated players in the game's history. He represented Ireland in the International Rules Series on several occasions from 1998 until 2000.[6] After sixteen years on the senior inter-county scene, and with two All-Ireland Senior Championship Medals, six All Stars (more than any other Ulster player, and joint third overall),[7] four Ulster titles, and several under-age and club championship medals to his name, he is considered one of the great players of the last twenty years by commentators such as John Haughey of the BBC.[8][9] His scoring record of 218 points is the second highest of all time in the Ulster Senior Football Championship.[4] His early high scoring rate, when he would often be Tyrone's best performer[10]—particularly in the 1995 All-Ireland final when he scored eleven of Tyrone's twelve points—led to claims that Tyrone was a "one-man show";[11][12] however, the continued emergence of skilled players such as Brian Dooher, Stephen O'Neill, Sean Cavanagh and Enda McGinley dissipated that criticism.[13] Canavan was a founding member of the Gaelic Players Association and in 2009 he was named in the Sunday Tribune's list of the 125 Most Influential People In GAA History.[14] In 2003, Peter 'The Great' finally shook off his tag as 'the greatest player never to win an All-Ireland',[17] captaining Tyrone to All-Ireland glory against ...

Conor Gormley is a Gaelic footballer from Carrickmore in County Tyrone. He is a three-time All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winner and GAA All Stars Awards winner in 2003, 2005 and 2008. He plays for the Tyrone county football team. Gormley plays his club football for Carrickmore St. Colmcille's and has won four Tyrone Senior Championship medals with the club in 1999, 2001, 2004 and 2005.[1] [edit]County Football Gormley has been one of the most consistent performers in a Tyrone jersey and was pivotal in the 2003, 2005 and 2008 All-Ireland winning Tyrone county teams. His greatest moment in a Tyrone jersey came in the 2003 All-Ireland Final against Armagh. With two minutes remaining in the match, and Tyrone a vulnerable three points ahead, Stephen McDonnell, who had already scored five goals in the Championship had picked up the ball in a very dangerous area, and was baring down on goal. As he kicked the ball, Gormley made an outstanding diving block to prevent an almost certain goal.[2] In August 2006, Gormley suffered a double leg break in a club game.[1][3] This ruled him out for the rest of the year, although he returned to action in 2007, and his performances earned him a Gaelic Players Association award.[4] Gormley ...

Tyrone GAA - 'Reeling in the years'
Gaels from the O'Neill county took a remarkable journey back in time at the Cardinal Ó Fiaich Library and Archive in Armagh on Wednesday October 12. Thanks to film footage privately recorded by the late Vincent Daly from Coalisland, members of Tyrone's 1947 and 1948 All Ireland winning teams were able to see themselves both in match action and at a training session. They were also shown footage of a game between Tyrone and Antrim in 1929 which is now the oldest-known video of a Gaelic game in Ulster. Gaelic Games Archive Officer Donal McAnallen explains the significance of the find, while Minor captain Eddie Devlin and team-mates Liam Campbell and Barney Eastwood give their reaction to viewing the old film.

man has part of his ear bitten off in crowd brawl.... tyrone gaa shame
POLICE have launched a criminal investigation after a Carrickmore man had part of his ear bitten off during trouble at the division one league final in Dunmoyle on Sunday. Violence erupted among supporters from Dromore and Carrickmore after fighting spread from the pitch into the stand towards the end of the game, resulting in numerous injuries including broken bones and lacerations to the face. During the ensuing chaos at the front of the stand, it's understood that the man in his early 40s had the bottom part of his ear severed after being bitten. The Carrickmore man was immediately taken to Craigavon Area Hospital where he was told there was little could be done.
