Because not only do we have to talk about and acknowledge racism and bias, we also have to talk about privilege and white privilege. And the fact that even though I grew up in a working class family that sometimes struggled to make ends meet, I grew up in privilege. And as a mayor, you have to understand and surround yourself with people who represent the communities that you're trying to serve.
