2NBC
2NBC FM is a community radio station based in Peakhurst, New South Wales, Australia. Its broadcast area is the suburbs in the south and inner west of Sydney covering the area known as St George. This includes the municipalities of Canterbury, Hurstville, Rockdale, Marrickville, and Kogarah.
NBC FM is a volunteer run organisation and is funded through listener support, grants and limited commercial sponsorship. The station celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008.
History
2NBC was formed in 1974 by a group of local residents and the Narwee Baptist Church, interested in the idea of a community radio station. After test broadcasts in the early 1980s the group was granted a licence by the then Australian Broadcasting Tribunal to provide a community broadcast service to the south and inner west suburbs of Sydney. Although 2NBC was spearheaded by the team from Narwee Baptist Church, the station has always been managed and programmed independently to the church.
Current
In 2008 the City of Hurstville and 2NBC teamed up to record The Tales from Dragonhurst, a local history radio drama. Funded by the Australia Council for the Arts the production involved a cast and crew of 30 seniors and an orchestra. Eight episodes were recorded and broadcast and the series has been made available to all community radio stations in Australia.
WHDH (TV)
WHDH, virtual channel 7 (UHF digital channel 42), is an NBC-affiliated television station located in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. The station is owned by Sunbeam Television, as part of a duopoly with CW affiliate WLVI (channel 56). The two stations share studio facilities located at Bulfinch Place (near Government Center) in downtown Boston; WHDH's transmitter is located in Newton. WHDH is the largest NBC station by market size that is not owned by the network.
History
Origins
The station first signed on the air on May 22, 1982 as WNEV-TV. It was originally owned by the New England Television Corporation (NETV), who received a new license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for channel 7 in Boston after improprieties by RKO General, the owner of the previous occupant of the channel 7 allocation, WNAC-TV. WNAC-TV had operated since June 21, 1948, and had been Boston's CBS affiliate (except 1961–1972, when it was an ABC affiliate).

2016 Major League Soccer season
The 2016 Major League Soccer season will feature 20 total clubs (17 based in the United States, 3 based in Canada). The regular season will begin on March 6 and end on October 23. The defending MLS Cup champions are the Portland Timbers, while the New York Red Bulls are the defending Supporters' Shield winners.

Allocation ranking
The allocation ranking is the mechanism used to determine which MLS club has first priority to acquire a player who is in MLS allocation list. MLS allocation list contains select U.S. National Team players and players transferred outside of MLS garnering transfer fee of at least $500,000. The allocations will be ranked in reverse order of finish for the 2015 season, taking playoff performance into account.
Once the club uses its allocation ranking to acquire a player, it drops to the bottom of the list. A ranking can be traded provided that part of the compensation received in return is another club’s ranking. At all times each club is assigned one ranking. The rankings reset at the end of each MLS season.
2011 Major League Soccer season
The 2011 Major League Soccer season was the 99th season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer, the 33rd with a national first-division league, in the United States and Canada, and the 16th season of Major League Soccer. The season marked the arrival of two new league clubs, Portland Timbers and Vancouver Whitecaps FC, whose cities previously had clubs of similar name play in the USSF D2 Pro League. Those two new West Coast clubs led to a realignment of the league's conferences, with Houston Dynamo moving to the Eastern Conference to create two conferences of nine teams each.
Each team played a balanced 34-match regular season schedule, playing every team twice (once at home and once away). The regular season began on March 15, when the Los Angeles Galaxy defeated the Seattle Sounders FC 1–0 at Qwest Field, and concluded with the host Houston Dynamo defeating the Los Angeles Galaxy 3–1 on October 23 at Robertson Stadium. The season also featured the 2011 MLS All-Star Game on July 27, when Manchester United defeated the MLS All-Stars 4–0 at Red Bull Arena (hosted by the New York Red Bulls). The 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs ran from October 26 until November 20, when the Los Angeles Galaxy claimed their third MLS championship by defeating Houston Dynamo 1–0 in MLS Cup 2011 at Home Depot Center in Carson, CA.
2014 Major League Soccer season
The 2014 Major League Soccer season was the 102nd season of FIFA-sanctioned soccer in the United States and Canada, the 36th with a national first-division league, and the 19th season of Major League Soccer. This season featured 19 total clubs (16 from the United States and 3 from Canada), each playing 34 matches during the regular season.
The 2014 Regular Season started on March 8 with Sporting Kansas City, the defending MLS Cup champion, playing at the Seattle Sounders FC. The 2014 Major League Soccer All-Star Game was held on August 6 in Providence Park in Portland, Oregon (hosted by the Portland Timbers) and featured a team of MLS All-Stars against Bayern Munich, the Bundesliga champions for the past two seasons. The game resulted in a 2–1 victory for the MLS All-Stars. The regular season ended on October 26; Seattle Sounders FC won the Supporters' Shield and the LA Galaxy went on to win the MLS Cup.

Teams play 34 games: 17 at home and 17 away. The nine Western Conference teams face each West club three times, with the home teams reversed from the previous year. The 10 Eastern Conference teams will play 7 East teams three times (home teams reversed from 2013) and two East teams twice. Eastern and Western Conference teams will play each other once, with the home team reversed from previous year.
