White Australian or Caucasian Australian is an umbrella term used to describe a very broad ethnic group in Australia. It can refer to white people born in Australia, sometimes of Northern European ancestry, but also Asian and African.

The Australian Census of 2006, when enquiring about ethnicity, did not offer "White Australian" as a standard choice. The subjective self-description most commonly used was "Australian" (37.13%). However, this is ambiguous and may include non-white people who describe themselves in terms of their Australian citizenship, such as indigenous Australians. The largest groups of European Australians identified were English Australians (31.65%), Irish Australians (9.08%), Scottish Australians (7.56%), Italian Australians (4.29%), German Australians (4.09%) and Greek Australians (1.84%). People of predominantly non-European descent, who are sometimes identified as "White Australian", included Lebanese Australians (0.92%) and Turkish Australians (0.3%).

A significant majority of white Australians are descended from immigrants from Great Britain or Ireland. In previous historical periods, "White Australian" was regarded as synonymous with Anglo-Celtic Australian. However, this technically excluded European Australians of non-British or Irish ancestry. There are Australians who do not wish to be referred to as Anglo or Celtic or European and would rather be referred to as simply white, like countries like America do to their Caucasian population. Although many descended from Britain or Ireland, many feel little connection to their ancestry countries and feel they have the right to be referred to simply white like Americans, rather than British/Irish Australian.

Australian Crawl (often called Aussie Crawl or The Crawl by fans) were an Australian rock band founded by James Reyne (lead vocals/piano), Brad Robinson (rhythm guitar), Paul Williams (bass guitar), Simon Binks (lead guitar) and David Reyne (drums) in 1978. David Reyne soon left and was replaced by Bill McDonough (drums, percussion). They were later joined by his brother Guy McDonough (vocals, rhythm guitar). The band was named after the front crawl swimming style also known as the Australian crawl.

Australian Crawl were associated with surf music and sponsored a surfing competition in 1984. However, they also handled broader social issues such as shallow materialism, car accidents, and cautionary tales of romance.

After their 1980 debut album, The Boys Light Up reached #4, Australian Crawl had two #1 albums; 1981's Sirocco and 1982's Sons of Beaches. Their early singles reached the top 25 but none broke into the Top Ten; their best performing single was #1 hit "Reckless" which showed a more mature approach than earlier hits, and came from their 1983 Semantics EP.

Shaun Roger White (born September 3, 1986) is an American professional snowboarder and skateboarder. He is a two-time Olympic gold medalist. He rides regular stance, twelve and negative three degrees on his board.

White was born in San Diego, California. His ancestry includes Irish and Italian. He was born with a Tetralogy of Fallot, a congenital heart defect for which he endured two open-heart operations before the age of one. He stands 5'8" (1.73 m) tall. White spent his formative years riding Okemo Mountain and Bear Mountain, small ski resorts found in Ludlow, Vermont, and the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern California.
