Willie D (born Willie James Dennis; November 1, 1966, Houston, Texas) is an American rapper, entrepreneur, investor, and advice columnist who gained fame as the lead member of the pioneering rap group from Houston, Geto Boys.
Willie took up boxing at the age of 11. Willie D was so good at boxing that in 1985, he became the Golden Gloves Champion for the State of Texas. With a Golden Glove championship under his 17-year-old belt it looked like Willie D was well on his way to becoming a professional boxer, but Willie D was captivated by rap music and set his sights on becoming an MC. He attended Forest Brook High School but in 1986, two months prior to his scheduled graduation, he was expelled for fighting. He never returned to school.
His reputation reached J Prince, founder of Rap-A-Lot Records. At the time Prince was looking to revamp the now legendary Geto Boys and knew that Willie D would be a key factor in the group’s success. Once Willie D was on board, Bushwick Bill and Scarface were added to complete the group.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963), also known by his initials, MJ, is an American former professional basketball player. He is also a businessman, and principal owner and chairman of the Charlotte Hornets. Jordan played 15 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards. His biography on the NBA website states: "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time." Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was considered instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s.
After a three-season stint playing for coach Dean Smith at the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of the Tar Heels' national championship team in 1982, Jordan joined the NBA's Chicago Bulls in 1984. He quickly emerged as a league star, entertaining crowds with his prolific scoring. His leaping ability, illustrated by performing slam dunks from the free throw line in slam dunk contests, earned him the nicknames "Air Jordan" and "His Airness". He also gained a reputation for being one of the best defensive players in basketball. In 1991, he won his first NBA championship with the Bulls, and followed that achievement with titles in 1992 and 1993, securing a "three-peat". Although Jordan abruptly retired from basketball before the beginning of the 1993–94 NBA season to pursue a career in baseball, he returned to the Bulls in March 1995 and led them to three additional championships in 1996, 1997, and 1998, as well as an NBA-record 72 regular-season wins in the 1995–96 NBA season. Jordan retired for a second time in January 1999, but returned for two more NBA seasons from 2001 to 2003 as a member of the Wizards.

Cruz graduated from Princeton University in 1992, and from Harvard Law School in 1995. Between 1999 and 2003, Cruz was the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an associate deputy attorney general at the United States Department of Justice, and domestic policy advisor to President George W. Bush on the 2000 George W. Bush presidential campaign. He served as Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 to 2008, appointed by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott. He was the first Hispanic, and the longest-serving solicitor general, in Texas history. From 2004 to 2009, Cruz was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation.
Cruz ran for the Senate seat vacated by fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison, and in July 2012 defeated Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst during the Republican primary runoff, 57%–43%. Cruz then defeated former state Representative Paul Sadler in the November 2012 general election, winning 56%–41%. He is the first Hispanic American to serve as a U.S. senator representing Texas, and is one of three Senators of Cuban descent. Cruz chairs the United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Oversight, Federal Rights and Agency Activities, and is also the chairman of the United States Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Space, Science and Competitiveness. In November 2012, he was appointed vice-chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Although Willie D has shot to fame with the success of the Geto Boys, the Houston rapper revealed to VladTV that he initially didn't want to join the group. He explained that after nailing an audition for Rap-A-Lot's J. Prince and scoring a solo record deal, Prince later asked him to join the Geto Boys, which he wasn't interested in. Fast forward a short time later and Willie recorded music with Scarface and Jukebox, who later left the group. It was at this time that Willie saw potential in then-hypeman Bushwick Bill joining the group. During the conversation Willie also shared what he thinks happened when Bill was shot in the eye. He explained that while he never got a straight answer, he believes that Bill was heavily drinking one night, which led to an argument with his girlfriend, an...
Houston rapper Willie D. spoke to VladTV about calling Charles Barkley, Stacey Dash, Raven-Symone, and other celebrities out on his track, "Coon." Willie stood firmly by his views and added that media personalities like Charles and Stacey are pandering to their white audiences for approval when they make controversial statements about other races. During the conversation Willie also singled out Raven-Symone for saying it would be hard for a Black woman to get hired with the name "Watermelondrea," which he said was ridiculous. Willie added that anytime he hears a celebrity "cooning" for the media he will be sure to call them out in future songs, and you can hear more of his thoughts on the topic in the above clip.

Former Geto Boys member, Willie D sat down with VladTV to talk about his upbringing and his final decision to give up a potential career in boxing for a career in rap. Although most may know his time as a rapper, Willie says growing up he discovered his talent as a young fighter when he fought one of the best fighters and later gained his first KO a couple weeks later. While very successful in the ring, he reveals that his fights in school later got him kicked out the school district two months before graduating. Aside from being a golden gloves champ, he says he dabbled in robbery before making a firm decision to get into rapping and vowed to giving his kids the best so they wouldn't encounter what hes been through. Check out the full interview above.
Willie D sat down with Washington DC’s Organization OneNation to conduct an interview geared towards youth, social inequality, Racism, and Sellouts in the Minority communities.
[Hook: Child computer voice]
Dear God really hate to bother you
I know that your really busy but
Can you take some time to see about me
[Verse 1:]
Dear God I know u got things to do
But can I talk to you, for a minute or two
I'm tired of seeing my homies dying
Bullet shells, paramedics, and chalklines
My friends momma sell they body, to pay the rent
My little cousin doing time but he's innocent
We sending food and money over seas to feed the po'
But what about the people next do'
Will you please show mercy on the child that's being abused?
Don't let 'em make the ten o'clock news
My attitude won't allow me to condone this
What we gone do about the homeless
I see peace
But I'm constantly engaged in conflict
I'm trying hard not to let the gun click
I really wish
U find in ya heart, to make a change
Hate to bug you but I'm tired of the pain
[Hook: Child computer voice]
Dear God really hate to bother you
I know that your really busy but
Can you take some time to see about me (I'm tired of the pain)
People down here suffering
I know that I'm not an angel but
Can you take some time to see about me (I'm tired of the pain)
[Verse 2:]
I'm seeking the father in this wicked land, man
I'm a believer so I stick to praying
But when I wanna go outside
Momma say don't go
Cause it ain't safe for the kids to play no mo
The po-po's put my hands on they hot hood
My relationship with them is not good
It's da dilemma
Momma's broke and she need some change
Or should I go to school or stay in
I don't know
Help the physician within me
Heal myself
For the sake of my family don't let me kill myself
I know that it's something that we all gotta suffer
But why you had to take my grandmother
I'm trying to keep my head screwed
In a bad mood
If I sound rude
Dear God, excuse my attitude
I'm just searching for some answers
Will we ever find a cure for cancer?
[Hook: child computer voice]
Dear God really hate to bother you
I know that your really busy but
Can you take some time to see about me (I'm tired of the pain)
People down here suffering
I know that I'm not an angel but
Can you take some time to see about me (I'm tired of the pain)
[Verse 3:]
Can you please take time out to help ya boy
Cause they down hear trying to steal my joy
Was AIDS really a ploy, to destroy out of pope
That's what they saying
It's hard to phantom
Tell me they plan
Cause my friends in the hospital sick as can be
Fighting for his life against HIV
Now tell me how much longer can he last with his heart
Beating off life support
Can I please touch the hem of your garment?
Get on my knees and be cleanst of the torment
My heart is pure
But I think I'm at my???
Cause every time I turn my back
I'm getting stabbed in it
Wait a minute before I end
Dear God will you tell me why I'm judged by the color of my skin
If you can please respond, a.s.a.p.
Sincerely Willie D
